As usual, excellent explanation David, thanks for creating the video - Can you also please show how to tune the GNS3 VM to high settings? I simply want to allocate the maximum CPU cores and RAM from my physical machine so that it lets me run the maximum QEMUs.
i might be missing something you already addressed, but there is not an API in the free VMWare Player to integrate GNS3 with, and i spent an hour trying to download VIX API from VMWare's website
hi GNS3-vm is running perfectly on vmware workstation and its its integration with GNS-3 also happened but the GNS3-VM is showing discovering and connecting mode on GNS-gui and GNS3-vm still showing in gray color GNS3 is 2.2.9 and GNS3-VM is 2.2.10 both are latest, running on a bare metal windows-10 machine

So it is nothing new compared to the normal GNS3 2.1.x installation/configuration Considering VM Player problems, the best solution is to create an Ubuntu VM (if you do not have VMware Pro), and there run GNS3 as a native KVM program.
Hi David, i'm doing your course on udemy. I have a small issue i can't seem to go past, i have successfully imported the ova file to the workstation. The lights under server initially where green however after shutting my laptop down and turning it back on only the gns3 vm is grey. What could i do about this?.
I figured it out. After going into shell from the gns3 vm menu I did a "netplan apply" and learned that indentation is important. Precise spaces, no tabs allowed etc.

I dont understand why you guys dont support hyper v . i cant buy vmware or use limited featured vmware for my home lab. hyper v comes free but despite installing hyper v gns3 vm and gns3 gui I am unable to import my running vm machines in hyper v into gns3...it only shows QEMO, VMWARE, VIRTUAL BOX. ...i have already selected hyper v in gns3 vm but I am unable to import the machines running in hyper v into gns3

You don't need to use the GNS3 VM if you install GNS3 on Linux

Have you done any videos on installing gns3 vm (2.2) ova in esxi? I am having issues with getting it to take a static IP in the /etc/netplan config.
