The person who along with a curly straw started a civil war
That's an interesting way to phrase the events that caused the Civil War.
@@PerspectiveEnd I mean, am I wrong?
Gerwhirl spinning gives me the “low quality fish spinning around while music plays” energy
Is that the first version of that? I always thought it was low quality rat that was first.
"Is Optimus Prime going to use a mini-gun or an ion blaster?"
Depends on the director, the continuity and if he's been reformatted lately.
I like the Ion cannon though, it just more epic
When has he ever used a Mini Gun before?
@@PerspectiveEnd Beast Hunters
@@PerspectiveEnd Transformers Prime, it's like his main weapon of choice after he kinda dies but not really
The reason we love Whirl is because of his insanity.
But his insanity isn't fun enough for such an evil character.
I like that you addressed similarities to Shockwave, as he got repainted into him
I did not know that until this day.
I remember liking Whirl because “robo Deadpool so awesome” but now I mostly remember his eventual friendship with Cyclonus
Yeah, I though I was going to like him cause Robo Deadpool, but he's so Contemptable early on.
I much prefer this to the mmc version. The mmc version just look too heroic for whirl. While the generation capture his inhuman and freaky character (if that make sense)
Personally I'm not as fond of that design. It's too beefy. I like it when Whirl is Lanky and rail like.
I hope we get a Lost Light Whirl at some point... I would even pay the extra of it being part of Amazon´s "Wreck and Rule" connection just to have that version...
Yeah we need a representation of his design, even if I'm not big on the character.
I hope they rerelease this thing in Wave 2 of the Wreck N' Rule Collection if they ever decide to do a Wave 2. He was teased on Twin Twist's box after all.
Well if it and when it happens i think legacy whirl would be a retool and repaint of siege spinister
I don't see that happening at all, but I could see a new version of this character coming sometime soon.
Speaking of Whirl’s sociopathic tendencies, it’s ironic that in Cyberverse-Whirl’s first proper appearance in a cartoon with a proper Whirl design-Whirl is essentially the clumsy kid of the Autobots; wanting to always help, but usually getting into a few accidents along the way.
But onto some Transformers news, it seems like there’s been talk going around about how pre-orders and listings for ROTB Wheeljack have been removed. This has obviously lead to the speculation that Wheeljack will get the live action Sonic treatment and be given a more pleasing re-design. Hopefully if that’s true, we’ll at least get a ROTB Wheeljack with a head design similar to his Bumblebee movie head. Either that or they’ll be working on a way for the glasses to flip out to the sides of his head and that he’ll get a battle mask, like some people suggested Wheeljack’s current ROTB head design should do. But we’ll see what happens.
That sounds like it's making fun of the Empurataed.
Yeah that's the Rumor I'm hearing, and I hope it's true.
@@PerspectiveEnd To be fair, I don’t think Empurata actually exists in Cyberverse. I’m pretty sure anyone with a one-eyed, mouthless head, such as Shockwave or Whirl, were just born that way in that iteration.
With all the mentions of Shockwave you gave, its fitting that this guy was repainted into Shockwave by Takara in their Cloud series
I did not know that, until this comments section.
I honestly think people sleep on this era of Transformers. There were absolutely some duds but there were just as many awesome love letters to the fans. The Rhinox that came out back then is better than his modern toy, the Arcee was so good they practically rereleased her this year, and Roadbuster is an all time classic.
Oh yeah, we both know the T30 Rhinox does terrible things to the Kingdom figure.
Nice, I think Whirl might be my fave since to me he's kinda like an Autobot ver. of Shockwave but as a Helicopter since they both have the same one-eyed heads after all lol.
Would've been cool if there was a Legacy Whirl since his Helicopter mode's my fave :D
I said much the same my self.
And yeah I hope there's a new Legacy fig of him.
"Is Optimus going to use an Ion blaster or a minigun?"
TFP Optimus: *Yes*
As Cyberverse was my first TF show, that's how I remember Whirl. A kind, helpful friend. When I learned everywhere else he's a serial killer, I was deeply confused. As a lover of wacky bullshit, this. figure is right up my alley, especially for a weird little guy like him
When did TFP Prime use a Minigun?
Yeah, it's really unfortunate, he could have been such an enjoyable character, but for so long he's soooo Contemptable. Just a monster of a person.
@@PerspectiveEnd In season 3 of TFP, Optimus dies for about 3 seconds before being revived and upgraded. I think it's season 3 episode 4. After that, he has his pea shooter and a goddamn minigun too.
Great toy, bro, with a number of hidden secrets like the second set of knees (which need to be carefully loosened first), shifting arms & slider joint! Plus, his intermediate 'Heloped' mode is simply awesome!
Circa 2014-15, this guy completed the mighty Voyager Autobot-Wrecker Quartet together with Springer, Sandstorm & Roadbuster. I still have him on active shelf display (wielding Dr. Wu's 'Rainmaker' Vulcan) till today, posed with the Cyberverse 1 (4?) Step Changer Whirl.
Wait the Hotspot figure?
“I want to go to the factory and assemble the fuckers for them” out of all the lines you have said in your videos this has to be my favorite
Really? Well I'm glad you liked that one so much.
Did you see your shout out in the previous video?
I did I am sorry for not responding to your message you sent me about the RUclips link I saw it and forgot about immediately after
Despite Whirl having a real rough start, I can at least appreciate him helping Cyclonus and tailgate with their relationship (especially when a certain power master (*cough* getaway *cough*) keeps pulling the strings and gradually breaking it)
The only time I remember being like he's finally a decent dude, is when he was like "Hey don't question Cyclonus and Tailgate being happy together in the afterlife that's not the afterlife."
For what it's worth, I've had this figure (or the Takara version at least) for a long time and even after many transformations there's no sign of breakage. I'm pretty gentle though. For the people who want the figure, I think there's a chance they'll bring him back because he's on the box art of Wreck 'n Rule Twin Twist. I love the wonderful weirdo. I had the G1 toy as a kid.
yeah, really hope they'll take this, add an ancle pivot, a few 5mm ports, and maybe remove the auto-claws, and it's a brand new toy ready for the wreckers shelf
Is the Takara version known for better durability in this instance.
And yeah I'm more gentle here, just suing those joints at all makes me scared.
@@PerspectiveEnd I don't think it's more durable. I owned the Hasbro version before this and it felt exactly the same. I just had to upgrade on account of the better paint job and lack of stickers.
7:04 bro just described when you want to run an errand for parents without being told to but then they tell you do it and you don’t want to do it anymore because you HAVE to do it now.
Man I know that feeling, it feels super bad especially when you were going to do it to be a good son, and now they think it was their Idea, so "You Had to be Told" to help out.
You're the only channel that I actually still have an interest in as I've watched for a year or so but thank you for still making videos
Really? You've been watching me for a year? Did you used to go by a different name?
Also I'm glad to hear that. What do you think makes me retain your Attention?
Definitely a figure that has aged surprisingly well for the modern age.
The only way it could really be improved upon is ankle tilts, and it doesn't even need those.
Yeah remarkably well on the posing front, and the ankles really aren't all that necessary.
CYCLONUS: Are we sure I'm the former Decepticon & you're the Autobot?
EVERYONE ELSE ON THE LOST LIGHT BEFORE WHIRL CAN REPLY: "Whirl you're an asshole!"
Actually... pbs.twimg.com/media/FjjMXJKaMAE1Zme?format=jpg&name=900x900
Thank you for making this video, it really helped me out during a bad period of my life, i could bring myself to comment for all this time, but i would just like to say thank you.
I got this and the roadbuster at the same time and the both look good together. It is odd we haven’t gotten new versions of those 2 in generations for years, we have most of the other wreckers but never got these 2 even after a wreckers sub line.
Yeah it's surprising that they didn't wind up doing these in the Wreckers line. Though I guess it was all Retools.
I have the Cloud Shockwave version of this toy, and I absolutely love it to death. Such a weird fun toy and design.
The Hell is Cloud Shockwave?
@@PerspectiveEnd Transformers Cloud was a Japanese Takara mall sub line of cool generations repaints. I’ll put an image of him in the Patreon server for you.
Cool review. I actually just got this figure, needed him in my collection! Looks good and feels great for it’s age.
It holds up remarkably well.
And thank you very much.
I kid you not, I found 1 tarn and five Leo primes on the 28th of February at my local Walmart and after that nothing. Luckily 11 days later in march I finally found studio series rumble. He was hidden behind a coronation starscream and fallen at target.
I've still never seen 86 Rumble at all, and I've not found a Tarn either.
So many reveals have been coming out, most recently the G2 Jazz, Toxitron, and Cloud cover
Wait what is this about the G2 Jazz?
@@PerspectiveEnd orange ss86 jazz reveal with extra like gun thing was revealed, looks cool, not sure if ill pick up or not yet
Something on your backpack is misaligned, the rotor should click into place and sit flush on the figures back, there are tabs and slots inside that need to match. That way the rotors don’t bang into the tail fin.
Yeah I know about them but I don't use them because it doesn't make the rotor hold still, so I leave the tail section out a little so they can sandwich around the tail fin and hold place.
The first 20 seconds talking about it being a pain to get new figures is so true. Breakdown "released" on March 1st on Amazon where I am, and I had that shit on pre-order, so you'd think I'd get it on March 1st or 2nd, right? Wrong, its currently the 12th and I STILL don't have it with no estimation on when I'll get the damn thing. I'm so close to being able to have a complete Menasor and my first combiner yet Hasbro/Amazon being shit at their one job to ship the damn things out is keeping me from that.
Amazon said that Tarn was Releasing the first of this month, only for it to now be coming on the 26th.
I remember Cyclonus getting spooked after walking in on Whirl arguing with a bunch of mutilated Sweep corpses. That boy ain't right
He didn't get Spooked he ran because Whirl tried to chase him down and murder him.
I just love how goofy this toy looks I think it’s the arms and legs or the hands
Yeah that's what really gives this guy his identity. Just such a goofy design.
That was a good video, I enjoyed it, I especially enjoyed the part with the thing
If you notice, all my videos have "The thing" in them.
I love this guy! I am glad you finally got it! Funny you compare him to Shockwave, his Cloud version, it's a Shockwave!
I mean I've had this thing for ever, I just never reviewed it till now.
And yeah I didn't realize that had happened already.
He must live a cursed life with those hands. Reminds me of Tankors hands.
Indeed same energy, but at least in IDW, it was supposed to be a Punishment.
6:32 whirl would be the type of guy to challenge an organized crime syndicate just for the fun of it
Also how can they break his legs when they already bend that way?
Fantastic review PerspectiveEnd!!! I have wanted to like Whirl as a figure, but his useless weapons, stupid gerwalk mode, and fragile knee and shoulder joints make it really difficult to enjoy him. lol I have never enjoyed that the only weapons storage in chopper mode is piling the weapons into the sides of Whirl. I hope we get a new voyager class figure of him someday soon. Keep on being amazing.
Yeah honestly maybe that's why I had a lower view than it merits, the accessories just aren't fun, and I'm worried it's going to break all the time.
@@PerspectiveEnd That may be the reason. I too never push the shoulders into the torso for fear of breaking, and I never use the double hinge knee joint neither. lol
Whirl is a toy I was fortunate to find at a Korean Toys R Us.
Back when it first came out or more recently?
@@PerspectiveEnd Back in the day it came out.
I remember having this in shockwave colors but I lost it at least I still have his mini gun
I hear that's called the Cloud Shockwave.
great video perspective i hope you find legacy tarn 😺😻 cant wait for the next one
I am just so out of luck with Tarn.
Can't locate one anywhere.
Hey Whirl is great lol. Sure he did a lot some would consider a whole lot of war crimes but he does develop as a character. One of my favorite moments of his was him donating his Energon to save Rewind. That was one of the many good deeds he did. And yeah him being Deadpool helps lol
He also tried to murder Rewind, and Tailgate just to also kill Cyclonus. Him saving Rewind at best makes up for that.
@@PerspectiveEnd eh Tailgate yes what he did is bad but Cyclonus felt more like he had issues with Decepticons or at least that’s how I interpreted it. Hell he makes up for that as well when he “befriended” Cyclonus after the mutiny or well it happened basically
I really do wish that Hasbro would just make a whirl in the near future.
I mean it's definitely in the Cards to happen soon.
I have him and that roadbuster they released. I like this design. Hopefully we get an updated version. You should do a segment once a week of retro reviews with figures like these.
That would mean that half my videos going forward would be Retro ones.
Crazy part: Takara via eHobby actually DID a Shockwave repaint of this lil' fucker in their cool but grossly overpriced Transformers Cloud line. They had some really cool repaints in there, though for the accompanying story, some things weren't done at all. Ex.: Thundercracker in Cloud, instead of being a T30 Blitzwing repaint like Starscream, was just his Fall of Cybertron self.
As for the wonky weapons, well...Combiner Wars Legends class figures exist for the ones that become weapons, like Powerglide...and Titans Return Titan Masters w/vehicles exist and they have really wonky weapon modes (except Shuffler and the Ramhorn retool - they turn into crazy cool missile cannons)...and who can forget the Decoy Armor Pretender Shells of Power of the Primes and their goofy jokes of weapon modes (though Micronus w/Cloudburst makes a pretty good facsimile of Grimlock's gun, so I have my PotP Grimmy equipped with that).
Whirl is a cool figure, but I passed on him as I didn't really care about the character...and his IDW interpretation didn't help at all. 😆🤣😄 Though I think that it would be cool to take Whirl's weapons and TLK Hound's weapons, and pair them all up with AoE Hound...yesss!!
I had no idea that happened.
Yeah but those make more sense as Cybertronian weapons and they were fun.
I don't know why Whirl is so famously popular. People act like he's just some Harmless Crank, but he is a MASSIVE piece of Garbage.
Yes! More old figure reviews please!
I'll see what I can do.
“I was forced to do it” well, where have I heard that before?
Probably from all of histories monsters.
Hope whirl gets a legacy figure. Maybe they retool this to make less prone to breaking and give him tampos instead of stickers
If they do, I don't expect it to be a Retool, but an entirely new figure.
In response to your message. I'm sorry for the confusion I had transformers figures given to me but whirl was the first figure I bought with my own money. I left collecting shortly afterward for one reason or another. And thank you for the recommendations.
I see. And you are more then welcome. I'm happy to try and help people only find the best of the best.
I had fun with the stickers but it's something of fine detail I could enjoy lol
For me it's just Stressful, I'm constantly worried they won't go on properly and they usually don't.
Just purchased this figure for around $40 (including shipping costs) i have a few old memories of him back in 2017 when i used to have him
one of your funniest videos for some reason
Really? What makes you say that?
When I first saw Whirl, I thought he was a autobot Shockwave
I mean he's probably about as evil as Shockwave.
Perspective no that's cool you should review more old figures.
I mean the videos never have the same reach if I do.
Remember that time Whirl locked his roommate out of his room as a joke after everyone had been ordered to lock themselves in their rooms and it got said roommate killed?
Pepperidge farm remembers
If giving us sticker sheets to apply ourselves made Transformers cheaper, I would take it. It would just be like reprolables, or LEGO
I forgot about that, yeah, he got that guy killed. Man Screw Whirl.
I don't like applying stickers my self
7:08 It’s like a parent trying to impress their kid, but they do it in the most cringeworthy way possible and they ruin it
You aren't wrong at all.
Heres a funny story. So if theres one animal My dad hates above anything Else its earwigs (he isnt Even afraid of Them he just really really hates Them) so imagine My surprise when i randomly stumbled upon Power pinch (a beast wars character Who turns into an earwig) on tfwiki. I just had to show it to him. his reaction was him saying "its an abomination". My mom thinks its hilarios and is qiute dissapointed u cant buy the toy anymore cuz if we could we would definently do it.
Oh yeah, no I had that thing as a kid, my Mom hates them too. One time she had a whole nest of them land on her head.
Sorry you and your mom can't mess with your dad.
On another one of your videos, I complained, that I could find anything from wave 3, well now Im finding wave 5 figures, and more wave 4 figures
Yeah same here, it's actually insane, at this point I can't even remember what figures are in what waves, because they are so jumbled, I will need the wiki to be able to do the WTB on the next wave.
@@PerspectiveEnd Ya, so far I have only found 2 wave 3 charcters, starscream and bomburst, and found most of wave 4
1:02 through 1:52 - Sometimes I'm actually thankful I wasn't able to read IDW consistently - _ -
1:52 - Man anytime I look at this character I'm reminded of just how much of a stitched together Frankenstein of a toyline G1 really was. I mean for Primus' sake this guy came from Armored Trooper Dorvack XDXDXDXDXDXDXD
3:12 - And that's how Whirl lost his medical license....
4:09 through 4:27 - Wait what? That's a thing with this toy? Okay then Hasbro XDXDXDXDXD
8:06 through 8:50 - Yeah we need more "Micro Masterpieces" like this, just fun toys you never knew you wanted until you got it in your hands.
1:02 through 1:52 - And really spot on about that first impressions meaning everything. Too many times we're expected to give certain characters a free pass just because _"they get better"_ as if they didn't start off as completely unlikable dickmules. Starlight Glimmer, Katsuki Bakugou from My Hero Academia, Mythra from Xenoblade 2, the Diamonds from Steven Universe, Vegeta, half the fucking cast of Naruto. Mythra in particular is especially bad because you apparently need to play Torna to _"better understand her as a character",_ some overglorified expansion pack prequel around 30 or so bucks released some time after the base game. I need expensive after the fact supplementary material to better understand how Mythra is a good character. Yeah, no.
They are really good in general.
Wait that's what he was from, I though he was from something else.
He lost his Medical License for Nipple Pinching?
Yes it's weird.
Yeah I can't believe I gave him that title, but it really only seems fair.
Oh man I just don't even get why people have Tolerance for Bakugo. He never stops being a Giant Pile of shit, he just becomes less of one.
@@PerspectiveEnd My guess is that Mineta worked almost too damn good as a proverbial lightning rod character that he somehow made all the murderous genocidal villains likable....
Hey perspective! I just found out that waspernater will be coming in the rise of the beast movie!
If you watch the trailer at 1:47 on the left side he is there flying and I definitely know that’s waspernater because of the Colour pallet and that you can slightly see the head of him on the guy, and also that he’s flying of course.
This gives me some kind of hope for the movie because that would mean the predicons would come in the movie and will make the movie will be good.
Edit: just letting you know that the time stamp isn’t for this video, it’s for the movie trailer that I was talking about
I saw the wasp and I was lime I though that was just a peck of dust
Are you sure it's not an Easter Egg?
I don't think there will be any preds, as there are no announced voice actors for them.
This is actually one of my all time favourite figures. Sure, I had to tighten the shoulder balljoints couple of times, but it was still worth it in the end.
And, I don't really get your point against the gerwalk mode, cause it wouldn't even be possible if they haven't added that 'waist' slider.
Heck, in the end, I even like the posable antena, I pretended he went 'radio silent' when he switched it down and turned his eye off.
In the end, this is one of those figures that makes me love helicopter transformers which we need more of, even if we already have a shitton.
Glad that I gave it such a positive review then.
My point about the Gir walk, is that doing it your self is fun like "Haha, I can do the meme" but when the meme is built in it's just taking the point out.
Yeah helicopter figures tend to turn out so well, it's surprising we don't get more.
@@PerspectiveEnd Again, I'm glad it was built in, because they added one extra joint without which, it wouldn't be as successful and I doubt anyone would think about it.
I still have my gen whirl, and I love it. I found out you can push the arms in further so they don’t feel weird, mine’s ball joint just got too loose. Also, you can click out the legs to have more chicken legs so he looks even weirder. (You grab the shins and the thighs and pull the shins backwards)
I don't like to use those second knees because those are the part more known to break.
I’m really glad I got this Whirl.
You should be it's good.
Did you see that there’s a new 3rd park company making samurai beast wars characters? They’ve shown off depth charge and rampage. Ironfactory has done optimal optimus and transmetal 2 megatron now they’ve announced Cheetor and primal in the samurai line.
I actually talked about those FOREVER ago, in a looking forward video when they were just Grey Scale prototype CAD models. Sadly it turns out they are Legends Scale, and I was looking forward to them being big.
Ah, one of my personal favorites in my whole collection. It's nice to see that he holds up to modern scrutiny. Heck, even the major fragile joints can freely be ignored due to how well articulated he is(do you really need that upper knee when his lower knee works just as well?).
But I CANNOT agree more than Hasbro distribution utterly blows. I've only found Bomb-Burst out of ANYTHING in Wave 3 in stores, had to order Armada Starscream and Inferno off of Amazon, and I already saw one Lio Convoy and one Core Sludge in stores, and nothing else in Legacy Evolution(Had to get Hot Shot on Amazon, and I got a Tarn on the way from them). Sorry about leaving another "Hasbro distribution sucks" comment, but with my recent experiences(and essentially the impetus of this video), I think the anecdote would be appreciated.
I've found Wave 2 of Evolution figures, before I found all of Legacy Wave 3. It's insane.
As someone who has had this figure since childhood I must say I did not know some of the things shown off in this video mainly cause I got rid of the instructions the day I got this thing (don't ask me why) like I didn't even know you could push in the arms for more compact look also oddly enough the spikes on one of the knees is the only thing that has broken on my figure even though I used to beat this thing up as a kid how those scrawny leg joints have not broken I have no clue
It's probably not more broken because you haven't used those joints you didn't know about. Those are the ones known to break.
@@PerspectiveEnd you're probably right it's kind of funny I remember transforming him to helicopter mode and back again one time and then never again
I just got this toy for $25 recently and have been having a lot of fun with it
Wow, that's actually a really good price to pay these Days.
I admit u make a lot of great points about IDW Whirl but I still like his introduction with Cyclonus in MTMTE.
You like his Introduction? Where he spends an EXTENDED period of time Trying to Murder Cyclonus just because he walked in on Whirl talking to him self?
@@PerspectiveEnd more like the earlier part, where whirl admonishes him for his impoliteness while Cyclonus is rightfully horrified at what he's doing. I like it cos it perfectly encapsulates what Whirl is; a psychotic murderer who knows what he is and hates himself for it.
I just started (re)reading MTMTE, and I was really disappointed when Tailgate's Energon explosion only knocked him out:( Finish the job Tailgate! DEW IT!
You mean the one that Cyclonus shielded him from?
I need this, I love whirls design
His design is very interesting.
Whirl is an AH-1 Cobra. But this is a keeper.
I see. What's the difference, because the two helicopters look the same to me.
I decided to buy Netflix Deep Cover again after I sold in in a bulk full of other netflix figures. I decided this because I wanted a figure to go with Red Cog on my display and I would just use Netflix Deep Cover as that character. Already have Gen Selects Deep Cover so I'll just nickname him something else like Quickslinger. (Open to other names too)
I'd keep GS as Deep Cover, since that's how he's 'sposta look. As for Netflix... Deep Blue? Name of a notable earth computer and fits the coloring.
And how exactly does Deep Cover fit with Red Cog Especially well?
@PerspectiveEnd Red Cog is such an oddity in my display and he doesn't fit with anyone else. So I need another figure exactly like that so they can both have someone.
3:04 I’ve had this toy for years now and didn’t know the shoulders are supposed to slide in. Wow. Ha! That looks way worse! I’m not gonna do it.
Yeah, I didn't know for a long time my self, I think it was a Vangelus review that told me about it years ago. And yeah it's both just worse and dangerous, so why bother.
Do sense the joke I made under the Lega-Wave 3 video at the beginning of this video? You cheeky sneaky man!
Say what now?
So I’ve been thinking about how rotb scourge will sound in the movie and I would love it if he sounds like my favorite edge lord robot, Revenant from Apex Legends. (No not just because I main him). I think if they started with something like his voice and changed it a little it could make him even more threatening. But I know this probably won’t happen.
Never played the game before so this character is news to me. Watching videos, personally I don't see him sounding that wya but we will see.
Petition for Perspective to review Titans Returns Soundwave
I never wound up buying that, even though I did almost do it at a Target at one point.
I got this figure as a kid and I somehow managed to peel of all the stickers and lose the head lol
Did you maybe just not put the stickers on? And sorry about the loss of it's head.
Whirl seriously looks like a Gundam design. The freaky gangly ones with one eye.
This is like one of the transforming mechas that the Titans used in Zeta Gundam.
You could put this in your Gunpla display and everyone who doesn't know Whirl wouldn't even bat an eye.
Should I buy TR Breakaway now? Is he a good enough representation of IDW Getaway?
With all the improvements on transformation engineering, I hope there's gonna be a Studio Series WFC game Warpath, he's the coolest design in the series. Practically solves every problem with the G1 design.
Is 16 bucks a good price for Generations Roadbuster?
Well I mean TR Breakaway is just about the Only Chug representation of Get away. The Mold is fun, but a little brittle. So if you are good with that he is your only recourse.
I don't hear good things about that figure, but it was an Old Voyager so that's like 50% cheaper than normal.
G1 Whirl: Wonky Lad
Early IDW: Whiny Blue Deadpool
Lost Light Whirl: Lovable Shipper
Yeah by the time Lost Light Rolls around he's mellowed out into the guy I think they wanted him to be from the beginning.
i like whirl as a goofy nerd because thats how i saw him on my first watch of cyberverse
Yeah people are telling me that's what he was like in that which is weird.
I dunno why but my brain craves for Hasbro to make a new whirl figure at some point, maybe something like his regeneration one design?
I feel like Regeneration one was just this design but Bulky.
Lately I've been going to Target and checking for any Tarns they have available so that I can send you a copy.
Thank you but one's in shipping. It'll be here any day now.
I would love to see whirl get a new fig in legacy evolution cuz both his g1 and idw designs are good wonder why hasbro hasn't done it yet
I think there's probably a goo chance of that at this point.
As I’ve said before it’s an AH-1 cobra based on the two rotors yeah it’s a little thicker than the real thing but the canopy rotors and wings are what define the cobra despite how skinny the actual helicopter is studio series dropkick got it right but yeah whirl is a cobra vipers have four rotor blades and the cobra body the Apache has four rotors on both the tail rotor and main rotor and a radar on top of the rotor blades for target acquisition
Does having 4 vs 2 blades really matter. Like why would that even be a Distinction when it's just a part you can basically swap out?
@@PerspectiveEnd I guess you’re right for the viper and cobra but the Apache is it’s own thing due to the angle on the tail rotors and the fact that it’s bigger than a cobra/viper given that the cobra/viper is based on the UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) frame but made as an attack helicopter instead of a transport helicopter
So with the stickers i just used the constructibots bage and sanded off the peg and glued it on
Which peg did you sand off?
The one on the back of the constructibots autobot bage
I think the only reason Gerwalk mode exist because all the voyagers in his wave were triple changers
Was that how it was with Generations?
@@PerspectiveEnd I am pretty sure every voyager in thrilling thirty was a triple changer actually
Man I'd love to get this guy. Hopefully they do an updated one in the future. Managed to find Tarn at Walmart and he fuckin amazing! Hope you can grab him man cuz I'd like to see your thoughts
I've got one that's been in Shipping for a while now, hopefully it will show up soon.
And I don't see them doing an updated version of this one, but maybe a new one is in the cards.
@@PerspectiveEnd you know it won't be as good if they do.
Speaking of early to mid 2010's toys that stabd out: have you gotten yourself that videogame deluxe soundwave?
I have not no.
@@PerspectiveEnd lemme gift you mine. It's a good figure, my collection priorities have just changed. I would like for you to experience it, and only make a video if you feel it warrants it, so no pressure.
He looks like a droid from portal!
Hey perspective I finally got my hand on scraphook and have made a short video of the one and only Mr.No-Hands
I will check that out.
This might have just convinced me to try and pick him up. I was wondering if you could maybe review the first edition cliffjumper from tfp. There is a 4th party version on Sirtoys called AC 03 Tauren. If you don't want the figure, or already have it, then of course, don't buy the 4th party one, but if you've been interested, maybe consider reviewing it someday. I've only heard positive things, but that's why I want you to review it.
I don't have one, but I'll consider it at least.
And don't over pay for this if you go looking for it. It's hard to get this for a reasonable price nowadays.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, I forgot to mention price. I think it was 30 or 40 dollars
Wait, when a tank transformers shoots, does it hurt? Like, has Warpath gone insane 'cause he's hurting himself? Gosh, the got dark.
I mean a Tank Transformer sure hurts when his Nipple gets pinched.
one of the generic weapons, the "old timey camera" thing, is specifically the weapon he always had back with his original toy. So basically it's this guy's Fusion Cannon
Not a very intimidating looking fusion cannon.
@@PerspectiveEnd dude I was saying in a figurative sense not in a literal. As in "it's this guy's iconic weapon"
Whirl heard all those insults and took them all as compliments also can I make a suggestion how about you wait to review The core class Dinobots and put them all in one review you don’t have to just suggestion also I feel your pain about Hasbro distribution
That's a possibility, I was thinking about doing them in 3 sets of two parts.
You say he looks like an anorexic Shockwave, and yet Japan actually used this to make Shockwave for the short lived “Cloud” line.
I did not know about that till today.
@@PerspectiveEnd Cloud would be really interesting for you and your brother to react to if you're still doing those kinds of videos. I could imagine you two descending into madness over some of the choices that were made with that line (read: what they did with Roadbuster).
Legacy MTMTE Whirl now please. Preferably with looser thigh joints.
Seen many nifty customs over the years.
Also, not quite Deadpool.
I don't recall Whirl breaking the fourth wall.
Yeah hopefully there's an IDW Whirl comming eventually.
Honestly i think it's time that whirl gets a new figure in the new prime toyline
Hopefully hasbro will deliver
And maybe they could do the idw design as well. I mean they definitely have the power to do so
Agreed. It's been a Very Long Time since he got a figure.
I got whole wave 1 and 2 of evolution from bbts. But nothing in the brick and mortar stores in my area
Yep, I found it all there too, and went through them because it's impossible to find what I want in stores any more.
@@PerspectiveEnd yes it is, my walmarts never went beyond wave 1 deluxes and only to wave 2 voyagers and leaders. I'm not sure if it's distribution of hasbro or just back log of the brick and mortar stores, they over ordered at the beginning of the year due to transportation issues and just trying to get through these inventory. Idk motu was like that in walmart too, only target has been decent with cycling through waves. But they don't bulk order as bad as Walmart does.
For the niche; it weirdly has Japanese mecha vibes which obviously it does given the g1 toys origins
I don't know that I'd say this is so SPECIFICALLY Japanese mech. It just feels very drone robot in general to me.
I definitely want a new Whirl figure in Legacy, but here's the thing, I like the IDW design, but I LOVE the Cyberverse design. With the rumors of Chromia and Windblade getting Cyberverse figures in Legacy 2024 I hope Whirl isn't too far behind.
Whirls Cyberverse design is Admittedly a pretty good one.
Been meaning to track this guy down, kinda hoping he gets a figure in legacy, considering he was teased on twintwist’s box
I would not be surprised to see a new version of this guy, possibly based on IDW.
