I live in England and will be travelling to Devils Tower this September. Close Encounters was my favourite film as a child and I lost count of the times i drew or painted the tower, I even used to make it out of mud using old garden plant pots as a mould. I am not a spiritual man but your story was touching and I know I will feel some kind of connection with my surroundings when I am there as I guess a lot of other people do that visit the site.
I live in the East Midlands and ever since i first watched Close Encounters Of The Third Kind on the big screen all the way back in 1977 I’ve wanted to visit Devils Tower and being as I’m now 55 years old I’d better get around to it soon because the way things are going i might never get a chance
