  • Watch as Jake Fine demos our Córdoba Orchestra CE.
Available with a solid Canadian Cedar top and rosewood back and sides, this model's main feature is its slim neck profile (48mm Nut width and 16" radius fingerboard) and only 12 frets to the body, which maximizes the amount of resonance and vibration across the soundboard.

How are the internal pickups? So hard to tell in these reviews if they're mixing the signal with an external mic

❌ As a "crossover" guitar - steel strings to nylon - I find the Cordoba brand a very unpleasing guitar to play due to the fact that 99.99% of steel string players use the "rocker" technique (bending strings), but on a Cordoba there is nothing but a loud scratching noise on the three lower wound strings. Their frets need to be smoothed-off or have something done to them before being released from the factory in China. After just a few minutes of playing, the strings had worn down to metal. I originally bought the C5-CE and then sent it back because I thought it was defective, but the Orchestra CE is exactly the same. It's a beautifully made guitar of which I am keeping - I was dubious when placing my order, but it's the best item I have ever purchased that came out of China - well done! - but I am extremely disappointed with not being able to bend the three lower wound strings. How can I possibly use this for recording? We all have different styles of playing, and bending the lower strings is my preferred technique and it's embedded in me after 40+years of playing... so, please don't call this a crossover guitar! Scratch Scratch Scratch - please fix your frets!
PS - For the extra money, I recommend the Orchestra CE over the C5-CE, particularly because the in-built electronics include a microphone that can be "blended" with the pickup by twisting a knob - you can chose 100% microphone, 100% pickup or a mixture of the two - I prefer 50/50. It's a brilliant feature. Plus, it's a better quality guitar overall compared to the C5-CE. Even though I am dissatisfied with the scratchy frets, I can highly recommend this guitar
PPS - A massive design flaw that must be upgraded is the way their onboard tuner discharges the battery if left on, which is easily done. The tuner should have an auto-switch off after 5 minutes. They need to talk to Fishman
