    That's an amazing unit!
What' are the options for someone needing to do ISO recording on the vr-4hd or vr-6hd.
Any possible firmware update to allow ISO recording on an SSD via the USB-C port? That would make it the perfect machine.
Program is great, but some clients requires post editing of an event.

If I understood correctly, this console has the ability to not be controlled at all once you assign microphones and cameras to automix. It can automix recording by itself?

Does the VR record software allow you to also capture each source individually in addition to capturing the program out?

    Hi,
How do I record my audio and video coming from the Roland mixer?

On the video out, will it output video stream, rgb, and hdmi simultaneously? I was wondering if I could stream, use pvw out for monitor, then rgb out to another monitor and hdmi out to another monitor or device...

Yes, all outputs are active at the same time.
The only I/O that requires a selection is HDMI Input 4; you can choose between HDMI, RGB, and Composite.
More information is in the Block Diagram: static.roland.com/products/vr-4hd/images/blockdiagram.pdf

Press the "In/Out Setup" button. The last 2 settings change the output type for the "PVW" HDMI and "Video Stream" USB outputs. You can have them be either full-screen program output or 4-way split-screen output.

Why is the PIP the section that allows switching of channels? And the background is locked?
I want to have my PIP locked from input 1 feed and then have background switchable to my other 3 hdmi inputs.
I basically have a multi cam event with 3 background cams and then want my PIP on channel 1 to remain locked on my ASL interpreter.
This is a huge let down and seems like they have this backwards compared to how people usually use PIP on other hardware.
Am I missing something here , is what I’m asking possible? I read the manual and it doesn’t seem like I can. Please answer, as I have a major event in 3 days. Thanks!!!

You can change the background source using the LCD touchscreen, simply tap the input to switch to it. The Input buttons only switch the PIP source while it is active.
For additional support, contact us at roland.com/backstage to go over it.

@@RolandProfessionalAVSupport ok thanks! Wish that was a little more clear in the manual. Also would be nice if the input buttons could be changed to control background as well as pip box. Thanks you

The drop-down lists contain all of your internal and external USB audio and video devices. For example, the USB Stream output on the VR-4HD counts as separate audio and video devices, so it needs to be selected in both drop-down lists.
Other sources on the lists typically include built-in and external webcams, additional USB video capture devices, built-in microphones, audio interfaces, and Bluetooth headsets.

BROOOO! The actual hardware is over 7 YEARS OLD. This unit is one of their biggest sellers that's why THIS video is two years old. They have newer units such as the VR-6HD, which I own, that have USB C out for streaming to a computer.
