I was surprised to see the bus on Strathearn Dr. The last time I caught any bus on that road was during the 95 Ave closure for the Valley Line construction due to Driver error. In relevancy to the video, these buses are a great addition to the ETS fleet after the abandonment of the Trolleybus system and will propel Edmonton and it's surrounding cities into the future
Yeah, Strathearn was obviously only used for promotional shots, with the "standard postcard view" of Edmonton. There are no existing or planned bus routes there.
Excellent video about some very good news. I've ridden the buses and they are a superior ride in every sense -- quieter inside, quieter outside, less smelly, 40% better on CO2, 99% better on street level pollutants. Edit -- and cheaper! Really hoping we never order another diesel bus.
How many Canadian tax payer dollars went into the American economy with the purchase of these buses? ... how much of Edmonton’s power supply currently comes from fossil fuel?
@@myfreedom4989 ETS looked at various suppliers, including Canadian companies. Since the current 60 buses are still only 6% of the fleet, there will be future opportunities for Canadian manufacturers to be chosen.
Save money on maintenance and fuel costs. Go electric. Every transit operator should see this video and make plans to go electric. Time to go all in and make all future purchases electric.
These are not Electric Buses!! They are Battery Powered buses NOT Electric!! How much money are the batteries once they go caput? That’s the real question!!
Although the roof of a bus looks big, the amount of energy collected would not be very significant. It would make more sense to put those panels on the roof of the bus garage.
The ebuses rattle and have crappy shocks when they drive on our crappy roads. The ebuses also make a lot of noise with an anniying beep beep beep all the freaking time. I've been on an ebus that ran out of juice and had to wait for a gas powered replacement. Oh, and didn't the company you bought them from declare bankruptcy, and that means no spare parts. If a new EV car battery for a rehilar car is in the 30K range, i bet a bys battery is well over 100K
Diesel isn't good in the cold either, for starting up at least. Also, not as good for the environment. Petrol would be better than diesel but those kind of busses don't exist.
That's really cool. We had an electric bus in Quebec City and it caught fire lol
Dumpmonton had electric buses in the past. They had trolley buses, but because of short sightedness the city scrapped the whole system.
You are correct!
Can you explain why the metal art which looks like dented metal was so expensive, but the siding installers dented that metal for free.... ?
It's the topography of cities as at a similar latitude as Edmonton as he says near the end of the video.
Awesome, e- buses for the future generations.
Electric buses are so quiet and that's also great for neighbourhoods.

Update....the buses are now failing and the company who sold them is bankrupt
Hahaha that’s hilarious!! Did they have to buy batteries ???

Those e-buses haven't been put out on the new bus network for ETS yet, I hope they will soon.
They have now been on the road for a while.

amazing busses super nice to ride on too
love how their real quiet too, i was actually enjoying my time listening to music with just my earphones lol. it’s great.
@@cthonix4439 omg yes
Very cool! I haven't had the chance to ride a bus like this, but I hope I do someday. Kudos to the City of Edmonton for investing in these.
Bless their hearts working on these buses during the pandemic. Take really good care of these drivers.
Leading the charge! 🚎⚡️
Hahaha.
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE E-BUSSES EDMONTON BOUGHT THAT WERE JUNK??????
Hopefully these buses have better visibility. How many more pedestrians have to be killed in crosswalks?

I wonder how well solar panels on top of the busses would work

Electric Buses Is WACK Diesel Is Da Greatest

I agree with Diesel! I think the future is actually Hydrogen!!!!
Failed EV buses lol
