    This is the most engaging track I've seen among those you covered. Definitely not a track for a beginner. You made it look super smooth too!

      It is my favourite, it's one of the less expensive tracks too. Probably the most dangerous though.

    Loved it, gives me a good idea of the circuit, love the mx5 too!

    👍 thank you for that excellent description of the circuit and all its idiosyncrasies. It’s on my list of places to visit in 2024.

    Epic circuit - it's got to be one of the best in the UK! Btw regarding brake pads I'd recommend the EBC RP1 or RPX if you can get them for the mx5. Big step up from the DS2500

      Thanks Sam, I'll look into it. I've only found winmax as an alternative but there is little info on them.

    I did not know this track, very beautiful ...the brakes of the MX-5 ND under dimensioned, for road driving they are fine nothing exceptional but they do theirs, for the track instead we are not really too small they warm up immediately, I have made these changes in my MX-5 2.0 ND , Ohlins Road & Track. Oz Ultraleggera Matte Bronze 17x7 et30 rims
    Brakes:
    Front and rear braided tubes.
    Brembo monolithic brake calipers derived from Alfa 4c. Pads ds2500 I also have the slotted brake disc. now he brakes ..

    Great video. Love this track in Assetto, the elevation and technical corners are brilliant for lower HP cars. Hoping to get an ND2 and get out there for real in the next few years.

      Do you think it’s realistic then? when I got my sim about 2-3 years ago I wasn’t recommended to load CC as it wasn’t accurate and I could be in trouble learning a circuit that’s not right.
      Have you driven the actual circuit and the sim what you think is it good.

    • @cozza819
      @cozza819 Год назад

      @@keithevans4643 Never driven the circuit in real life. However, I can't see that argument. It's not like on your first session you're going to go out 10/10 speed, hitting breaking points etc. You're going to be more familiar with the track and work your way up. The track looks very accurate however it's never going to look the same in real life. Many racing drivers and F1 drivers use the sim for practise.

      That’s strange I was talking about Castle Combe not Cadwell I’ve practiced Cadwell on my sim and I would say I think it’s very accurate.
      CC on the other hand I was told is inaccurate so I’ve never practiced it and yes if I practice enough and a sim I would turn up for Q then race.

    Cadwell is perhaps the second best track in Britain. Nothing touches Outlon Park.

    Smooooth... btw imo you can just use two cameras, the top middle one and pedals .the rest of'em are slightly distracting on the screen. cheers

    nice one! I wonder how the AC coped in this weather? Any significant impact to the car's performance with the AC presumably on full blast?

    • @RichardFanders
      @RichardFanders  Год назад +1

      I can't tell the difference between the AC on or off in this car. It's incredibly efficient and the alternator barely gets used on circuit due to i-eloop.

    There is a spot in the UK that has winmax pads. The winmax w5 will be perfect

    I want to get into track but have no experience. I do not think I will be able to until I get a second car and that will not be happening anytime soon. Would a ford fiesta 1 litre eco boost be ok for track, it is quite nippy? but I might not want to use my only car on track. I guess doing the pull push like in my RoSPA training will be laughed out of the track.

    • @RichardFanders
      @RichardFanders  11 месяцев назад +1

      Power really doesn't matter. Have track brake pads, standard brake discs, fresh brake fluid, good road tyres and a reliable car. If you can keep going lap after lap, you will get faster and enjoy yourself. If you bring a car that won't work, that's the day over quickly and a waste of money.

    • @cameronleehorace

      Thank you, I think I should wait until I can get a second car for track days. Will be a while. @@RichardFanders

    What does the flags exactly mean?

    • @RichardFanders
      @RichardFanders  Год назад

      Red means there is danger and leave the circuit, yellow means there is danger but you can stay on the circuit at half speed in that section.

    This dropped into my feed so l watched it. Rarely have l seen such utter nonsense talked about driving, car performance, technique and tracks. It's like listening to 14yr olds trying to out bs each other in a playground, and as for the left foot braking 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
