ruscoe lee I understand where you are coming from regarding shred guitar, I've never been a huge fan however you cannot disregard the incredible technical ability this player has. The fluidity and right hand technique of his playing is fantastic but one thing shred guitar lacks is emotion. If you listen to Wes Montgomery, BB King or even players such as Robert Johnson, every note tells a story. With shred its more about showing off technical ability which Ben definitely has.

All he needs to do now learn to use the technique to make sounds that are pleasing to the ear and not:
"Look at what I can do!"
We can hear pretty much everything he can do in one video and it sounds boring, like an over long drum solo.

Bens playing has matured a lot in the last couple of years. Great technique and seems like such a humble guy, hopefully a star for the future.
Every time I watch either of these dudes play, I get this big, shit-eating grin on my face. Such a treat to see that kind of technical prowess.
It really does help to reveal the guitar's tone, resonance, etc when you have someone like this pick it up and play it. Awesome.

Bens really evolved as a player. He used to do alot Malmsteen runs he's now doing incredible legato and blues. Nice playing Ben much improved sounds as if you have found yourself !!!!

What i really like about the chapman guitars is That they have ebony fretboards , they are the only ones like , the other ebony fretboard guitars are like 3k relic fenders or super expensive jacksons
+Jadi Peperzak Nah man, there's plenty of guitars more affordable than that with ebony boards, just not in the ml-1 price range. Ltd deluxe guitars often have ebony, jackson pro series (700-1000 ish) have ebony, plenty of schecters have it,...

+Andy K Yeah, he is starting to break away from all the Malmsteen stuff. The influence is still there but he's starting to put his own signature on it. He has clearly developed some good hybrid picking technique and is getting tastier with his phrasing. He is really becoming a monster, I hope to hear some good shit from him in the future.

I have one of these natural ash ml1's, mine has Dimarzios. I bought the guitar used so I dont know if the pickups are stock are added. Either way I got a great deal on an awesome guitar!

Chapman guitars are the best guitars I have ever played. I've owned Gibson, Parker, Fender, PRS, Schecter, Ernie Ball, Ibanez, Jackson. I think my ML-2 is a better guitar. I love playing it in the studio & live.

I'm in the market shopping for a new guitar and I've been watching a lot of Chapman demos and I'm very interested in this guitar company's products. I looked online and found a dealer here in Texas called RNA Music in Canton, so I am planning a trip there to check out some Chapman axes.
I need to add that I'm no slouch on the guitar by any means, but the guy in this video is a MONSTER player!

This ML-1 guitar was $499 in 2015 a Korean made solid swamp ash body....the current closest made guitar is an Indonesian manufactured guitar which has an ash body heavily finished for $429....which is the better deal to you? I like this Korean made guitar better.

How old is he? Holy shit...
You should see how close he was to this level years ago, in Rob Chapman's old videos. I think I remember that Ben featured in a video about the Marshall MA amps-I know he was in a comparison of two Marshalls which was not filmed at Andertons.
