Tommy Eklund no Gold is a terrible tone colour, I know 52 goldtop LP's sound good but it's because there's actually a Hot Pink finish underneath it. That's where the tones at.
Lots of comments on how smooth his picking is, which is true! But I can't get over how musical his licks are even when he's just messing around. I love how smoothly he transitions for shred licks to bluesy lick. Just like randy!
Same... shredding as the body of the song and straight into a rhythm section for a few and back out. The guy's timing is crazy and knowledge of the scales is insane... Arthritic pain here we go. It got me when I played constantly.
Yesidoplaytheguitar You're probably joking but for anyone who plays guitar solely for competition vs. other guitarists and would want to quit after hearing/seeing someone play faster: imo, you're playing for all the wrong reasons! I cannot play that fast myself but I don't care. I play for the enjoyment of exploring new sounds / riff combinations and soloing to songs on the radio/internet. Play for your own self, not for anyone else. It should be a pleasure to play guitar, not a pride-filled, miserable competition and comparison of fear and/or embarrassment. :)
The key to attaining mad shred skill like this... Lock yourself in a room with your guitar and amp for 6 years... However on day 210 you realize you have wasted 210 days and you will never get that good... So you say fuck it and go for a soda.

He's one of those dudes everyone hated when we were kids. After six months of playing we struggled on smoke on the water riff, and the he comes in and plays that shit :D
apinakapinastorba I strongly believe that it's all on the individual's will. He also probably dedicated most of his free time to practicing and strengthening those finger muscles, repeating such things over and over for hours upon hours, whereas the others play for a hour or two at most, he did it 8+. lol

"iT dOeSn'T hAvE fEeL". Yes it does, it's just that you personally don't find that feel or enjoy it. I love the sounds of sweeped arpeggios sometimes. This is just a way guitarists take down other guitarists who are much better than them.
Ridiculous skill and talent in that guy. Lots of guys his age can play fast but very few have that kind of articulation and precision, and he was only really fucking around.
Lot of feels in that shredding. Not mindless noodling like you see all over now but shred with soul. Nice one. Ghost fret with the chapman pickups sounded better IMO
50th time I've visited. Still amazing and surprising every time. I hear new little nuances here and there. Release an album!!! Haha. Good luck with everything.
Awesome speed and precision. I always wonder if a person like this practiced his ass off for years or it just comes natural to them? It just seems like some people are just meant to do something, like they just seem to get it unlike me that struggle to play notes and chord changes cleanly and with speed. Guess I just don't put the hours in!
oh man I absolutely would love to have that blue guitar, it's a pretty drastic difference in sound and tone between the two and that one it just sounds absolutely fantastic, what a great warm crisp sound with some chunk on the bottom end that guitar makes, great job Chapman

Ghost Fret needs a vibrato bridge. Yeah I get the traditional Explorer thing but my Explorers are lead guitars and they all have vibratos. Build it with a Floyd and I'll take one.
It's because of this video that I really want one of these guitars!! But also, it's because of this video that I will probably never bother playing again. :'-(
If I had a dollar for every note he missed...I'd still be broke. Damn, what a talent. I have never heard his name before today, but rest assured that is one thing I can correct. Badass. And he may just give Chappers a good run for his money. And that guitar...I have a chubber workin' right now (and that is the sad truth)

His legato is so smooth, it could be sold on a Starbucks menu for $7 with pumpkin spice and one shot of espresso.
Flynn McTaggart white girls would be all over it

Mr ThoughtCrime There it is; Everything we were reading the comments for.
And here I am, trying to learn a C cord
Everyone starts somewhere
If it makes you feel better,I used to know how to play both an E major and minor chord then I forgot how to play them...
Good luck my friend...i suppose i am a pro comparing to you..as i can smoothly change from c to em and back to c chord

Bahaha. Though in the months since you made the comment.
I'm sure you can now. Lol
Oh yeah? Well I can play Hot Cross Buns without messing up.
ooh wow nice to know
That is legit something I used brag about when I first learned guitar 😂

I feel that
I’m getting some Chris Poland vibes too
Check out my lessons and reviews I show git stuff
Definitely reporting this guy for hacks.

he got that mod menu bro
I think i better stop playing the guitar. I have no power in this realm
Same here brother!

relax guys i was just kidding! i will never stop playng guitar, it's the thing i love the most in my life!
The best part about this video, aside from the sweet Ghost Fret, is that it just makes me wanna pick up a guitar and play the hell out of it!
Old Souls, great album
You can have mine. I just left it at the curb.
Toby K. Yeah me too this type or vídeos Want me to learn moré scales and technique
Toby K. Same but I suck at guitar
My guitar just hanging on the wall full of dust, no motivation.

He IS the band
3:30-3:38 is so smooth holy moly.

The hand of ghost rider
Someone's been watching a Paul Gilbert instructional video
The guy is definitely a Paul Gilbert fan. That goes a long way!

I'm sure this guy was checking out a Jason Becker instructional video

Do you know what the name is??
Really?
If they made a transparent black/grey Ghost Fret, I would instantly take the 800 mile drive to the nearest dealer to buy one.
We have - enjoy :-)
Rob Chapman :D
TheOkayestGamer if they made one with 24 frets, I'd instantly order one from Riff City or however else I needed to get it to CA.
TheOkayestGamer Make a youtube vlog about driving to the dealer ;)
Event Horizon Productions Try a Jackson Kelly.
Ben is such an awesome player. Man that's clean!
Sam Coulson You're pretty damn awesome yourself mate, i'm still enjoying your lessons on JamTrackcentral!
Sam Coulson
You were blessed by Paul Gilbert!!!... Doesn’t get any better than that!!!...🤙😎🤘🤘🤘🥃🍺🍻
Somebody just managed to sound like Pink Floyd, Rush, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin in a single video O.o
Where is the rush part?
So far I don't hear any Alex lifeson sounding stuff
Never mind i heard some Alex sounding chords in there.
which is very easy to do since he doesn't have to adhere to the harmony of a song.
Id say it sounds more like Slipknot's Mick Thomson and Jim Root
His legato, alternate picking, vibrato, galloping rhythms, etc. -- everything is spot-on!
His hand looks like a spider having a seizure
This guy literally played more notes in an 8 minute video than I've played in my entire 12 year playing career. Holy crap.
how can any guitarist not love this, this is such a motivation for me to keep playing guitar
Jealousy probably
I don't care what anyone says I will forever love listening to players this amazing and being inspired by them.

Check out Rob Scallon. He has a signature model and talent out the fuckin wazoo.
