This is the first breaks video that I've seen really gets it right. that tip about moving parts and then unrolling the beginning of the next slice to fill it in seems obvious once you see it, but i never thought of that. I really like not warping and only using pitch and slicing to get it going.
It's a nice easy video to understand as the focus is fundamentaly on finding breaks that compliment each other and then working within their boundaries first. Forget EQ, Compression, etc for the moment the video highlights that you can create the organic rhythm and flow of a track with some core elements. I also liked he didn't bang on about how he was going to change my life with 5 easy to follow tips and an extra bonus tip if I tipped him for his tips.
I am a drummer and I finally grasped the concept of of electronic drums. I use reaper. There is a song named 'A Vida' by 'Cujo'. I want to know how to morph my drum tracks like that. He juggles with the speeds, tones and adds effects ect. Is this a piece of hardware that he is using or is there a straight forward way to do this on DAW side?
Soul pride is ,i agree...but i find if you chop it up,its become tight..(right click it and send to MIDI track) then its in a sampler and nicely chopped and ready
why plug ins?? you can buy outboard re-vamped synths now ,Slightly analogue too) for around £350/450 .. The price of a very good plugin, and it will be zero latency on your hardware too! Or failing that don't use Serum like everyone else be different and get the Prothet5 plug -in slightly 80s.90s, but you can get some Dark sounds from it and fat bass ..amazing!!!!

_You are too rare in this world_
Great tips! Thank you.
i think editing breaks in audio like this can be very powerful. no need for midi if you don't want to.
WOW thank you
NICE ONE! Many Thanks and Kind Regards ;)

Its all in the Daw, Ableton is very good for this but all the major ones do a similar thing.
Its about Automation on your tracks, as the drum bars are going along, hit an affect or desired FX and it will turn on at the points you want it too
Come with me...if you want to lift. Great shirt
Pad reminds me of A.P.L. - Hypnosystem from the Ambient Dub 3 album. Same preset or a sample?
nice, thanks. that soul pride can be a headscratcher

Any recommendations for plug-ins for melodic sections for dark jungle music (i.e. like the bass used one here, or for the pads etc). Cheers!
Try Serum

@@rusrus29 Why buy outboard revamped synths or plugins? you can use the stock instruments in Live or any other DAW.

I'm sorry but this whole "Everything needs to be perfectly on time" shit on every video about music production is garbage
Absolutely. I now produce using renoise and mostly using my ears.
true, until you start mixing it with tracks that are in time, then it sounds shit
Well it doesn't even
sound right because that's not how the old jungle music was
