Konnichiwa Samurai Daddy. Great clip again. Shumai is good, but in Japan it is only pork meat, some recipes call for mutton also or only mutton, but sheep/lamb is incredibly expensive in Japan. Due to very limited domestic production and historical low demand. In Fukuoka I managed to find affordable frozen mutton in a Pakistani halal shop, but it was 10 kms away, one way on my bicycle! I got my exercise, went there many times, (to cook Indian curry at home). Well, pork is fine too in shumai. Had some great shumai in Taiwan with pork. Cold somen noodles are very good when it is warm in Japan. 7/11 does not exist in Romania, maybe only one still which was run by a Japanese owner in Iasi. As konbinis we have mini markets, sometimes only a window from an apartment. No good stuff like in konbinis in Japan, but bread, cold beer, snacks and some salami. Otherwise it is supermarkets, mainly French chains, but with 98% Romanian products. Plus farmers markets for fruit and vegetables, some is home grown, some from whole sellers. Some sellers also carry home brewed shochu - tuica and palinca, and one can taste before buying. It is legal to distill alcohol at home, but not in apartments. In Sweden there are 7/11s, but they have nothing of the choice a Japanese shop offers, mainly sweet cakes and maybe a hot dog, useless places. Sukiya is great, but as said in other comments I prefer Matsuya. I notice that now beef is served separately from the the rice, it used to be poured over the rice. Great value for money with egg and miso soup and delicious! Living longer thanks to miso soup I think is a total myth. It is said that people in Okinawa live the longest of everyone on earth. Still they eat the most unhealthy stuff! Almost no fish, lots of sugar in the food, canned meat like corned beef and ham, american burgers, strong awamori etc :-)) I think they live longer because they are happy and do not work too much. I might be very wrong. In some other clips you discuss weight, food and worries and you also gave your measurements etc. My suggestion is, without being an expert, continue to eat what you eat today. Maybe cut down on the sweet stuff some if possible. I am 187 cm tall and weight 62 kg today, it used to be 75-80. With age one eats less. I eat very good, but also very small. I walk promenades and do bicycling, nothing else. Do your exercises, jog some, play futsal. Get a simple non-electric bicycle, it will reduce your time to the train very much and you will see you will that you use it more than you think. Often replacing the car and you get good exercise. Microsofts Co-pilot says Yakohama is somewhat hilly. Fukuoka is absolutely flat and prefect for biking. Nagasaki is hopelessly hilly and there are very few bicycles there. I used to do a lot of sports up until I was about 30: soccer, handball, ice hockey, baseball. I guess it gave a good base to stand on. Now 66 and healthy and slim, BMI is on the lower side. Don´t worry. I am a Swede living in Romania since +10 years, but have lived many years in Japan and visited for longer periods quite recently, but only pre-pandemic. Sorry, I write too much, but that is what retired people with lots of time do, bare with me. Arigato!
I just discovered your channel - RUclips suggested it and I enjoyed this video very much. When I have time later today, I want to watch your other videos. I want to learn more and more about Japan - your food and so much of your culture speaks to my soul. Thank you for sharing.
Hello, excellent evening, I really enjoyed your video, in fact I am becoming a super fan, in addition to mentioning that you look very young, I estimate that you are approximately 30 years old and it is good that you exercise ☺️ here in my country hahaha and that depends on each state or the person, it is that they add an egg to any smoothie, which from what I have been told is good since it is protein, well it makes them stronger, I don't know hahaha❤❤
@samurai-daddy Hello hahaha no, I'm only saying this since here in my country men 40 years old and older look much older, just the fact of the shape of the clothes and if, as you mention, you're middle-aged, you look younger. and I say it with all due respect ☺️❤️
Hi from Argentina! ( The messi land how a footbal reference) Far far away 😂. Interesting channel about a style of life in japan. I see all yours videos
You eat more for breakfast than I eat in a day...😊😊 7-11 has just announced it is closing 1200 stores here in the US due to poor profit. They have thousands of more locations. They are considered convenience stores here for quick, pickup items.....Not a food destination like overseas...
Hi! Great videos!! What is your opinion about the attempt to buy out Seven Eleven? Do you worry it would change? Seven Eleven in the USA is not anything like in Japan
Thank you for watching my video! From the perspective of the acquirer, Japanese companies are cheap in terms of exchange rates and other factors, and considering that we don't know how long this exchange rate will last, I think it is very wise to acquire them at this time. However, from a Japanese perspective, I wonder if the quality of Seven-Eleven will continue in the future.
Thank you for watching my video! I filmed this on my day off. I also have videos from work days, so please check them out. They are divided into playlists.
Italy was the first country I visited on an overseas trip. I was 20 years old. I went to watch Nakata. I stayed there for 3 weeks. I think it's the best country to travel to. Thank you!
Oh! You live in Pisa! I went to the Tower of Pisa but couldn't go inside because of construction. I went to Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice, Milan and Verona. I watched 3 Serie A games.
¡Gracias por ver mi vídeo! ¡Felicitaciones por ganar la Copa del Mundo y la Copa América! ¡Japón también hará todo lo posible para vencer a Argentina algún día! ¡Messi!
I learned of your videos from reddit. It is a social media site popular in the US and other countries. I had a longer comment posted with more details but I think RUclips is not showing it for some reason. Basically, people can post things that they find interesting for others to see and vote it to be more visible to others. I hope to go to Japan soon so your videos are helping me understand more about what I can do to experience a normal time in Japan. I do not want to be a tourist! Our convenience stores (konbini) are not good here. Mainly snack foods. I would like to see a video where you show if the touch menus or the places where you pay if they are easy to read in a different language for those who visit and do not know Japanese. Another suggestion, I believe you should number your videos so it will be easier to see the differences as you add more over time. Lastly, the flag of Japan is covered up on your thumbnail preview by the timestamp. Thank you for the great videos and apologies if three of my comments all come through at once for some reason!
Thank you for watching my video! Your explanation of reddit is very easy to understand. I appreciate you. Please experience the goodness of everyday life in Japan, not a tourist spot. I will do my best too. Japanese convenience stores have manned and self-checkout registers. Self-checkout registers are available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. However, if you don't understand, I recommend a manned register. In Japan, plastic bags are charged, and the way to use the self-checkout register is difficult even for Japanese people if they are not used to it. I will consider numbering the videos. I will also refer to the videos of other RUclipsrs. I noticed later that the flag in the thumbnail is hidden by the timestamp. Your comment is displayed correctly. Thank you.
