  • Two carts are connected together on an air track with a spring. Under bright lights you can see the coupled oscillation of the carts back and forth, but under black lights you can see that the center of mass moves at a constant velocity.

    It's very satisfying to work it out on paper and using your imaginations and then looking at it at work in nature. It's amazing.

    the most satisfying thing is that when you the exact the thing and when you get the same result , you cannot imagine how satisfactory it is

    To see the real beauty of conservation of momentum cover the riders with a paper or your hands as they move along in the dark environment. You'll see that the centre of mass is indeed moving uniformly until the system hits the wall and an external force acts on the system. This would be much easier to see if the riders weren't illuminated.
