    I think the reason why women who think natural hair is hard is that they complicate the routine, buy expensive products thinking it will change the texture of their hair and they do not know how to style it. They don’t follow people who have hair like their own and get upset when their hair doesnt look 3b etc. its so sad.

    It's always funny to me when people talk like this. It's not like the hair will grow out relaxed, it'll still grow out as her natural hair texture. Tbh, that's one of the reasons I went natural, I was tired of dealing with two textures and fighting a losing battle. Plus it has literally made me fall in love with my hair so much.

    Natural hair will never be easy until you let go of the self hate, the comparison, the judgement and self critism, the shame and your bias. It will never be easy until you look at your hair in the morning , unstyled and unmoistuirized and think this is so beautiful. It will never be easy till you let go of the feeling of defeat when a twist out doesnt go as planned. It wont be easy until you give yourself grace on days you experience setbacks and patience on days you are too tired to handle a full washday. The work starts within. The problem isnt your hair. Its you. The journey of growing your natural hair will never really start until you address your inner misgivings

    I have relaxed hair after being natural for 5 year, and i love every bit of my hair, my natural hair was the best, the only issue i had was very sensitive scarp and i couldn't keep it anymore because no one couldn't touch my hair without me having migraines (it wasn't tight at all) but i didn’t know why it happened, the only option i had was to cut it off or relax it, but i miss my natural hair so much and i want to start over again but not now after 5 years of relaxed I'll turn back to natural 😊

    I strongly feel like it's usually a lack of practice on how to take care of our hair and also a mentality issue. Nothing changes until that changes.

  • @thatsthatdrpepper

    Hate this mentality myself. It’s so harmful. It’s so bad for us as Black Women and for little Black Girls💔. Yet you’ll see the same individuals who encourage this or justify using perms being the same people who ironically deny Black Women’s hair even being real when it’s long, natural and healthy. Makes no sense. Our (too many of us) attachment to the very things that *exploit* Black Women, *as* Black Women, is a problem. Too many of us are more apt to look for a quick fix in using synthetic or human hair that isn’t ours to *cover* our natural hair, as opposed to actually learning and implementing how to take care of our own. I can’t get behind it. I don’t shame Black Women who stick to community norms like these or who haven’t gone on or persisted in natural hair journeys for themselves - but I do hate how stunted this kind of content makes us look in the aftermath of everything proven and disproven by Black Women who’s journeys have been successful.
    Update: 4:53 not her *combing* the perm through her hair tho!! 😫 lord that’s hard to watch. These will be the type of ppl that defend altering their hair w such harmful chemicals - with the audacity to not even know how to use it properly. Make it make seeeeense don’t do that you’re not supposed to do that….!!😭🫣

      Oouchh!! Hmmm...
      I was so angry when I watched this TikTok. Not because she relaxed her hair but because of certain words that came out of her mouth

  • @I.am.hooked
    @I.am.hooked 3 месяца назад +11

    I can already see why her hair is “difficult”.
    She doesn’t know how to care for her hair.
    Her hair is shrunken, she is using a small mouth comb instead of a big comb, she is parting her hair dry and didn’t stretch her hair, she says negative things about her hair and is impatient.

      Funny how now they compliment me and say ooh your hair is so full, your hair is long etc.... Nothing good comes easy ❤ keep going

    This mentality is prevalent here in Nigeria amongst girls, which is why you see ladies with short damaged relaxed hair looking good in wigs.... I don't hate on people because of whatever hair theu decide to do but the mentality behind it is what's sad.... I once had a stylist who kept asking when I'll relax my hair like girllll NEVER!!! Because i went natural for the right reasons... M
    Most of them only tried it out cause they saw someone who did and looked good, not knowing all the person does underneath to keep good and healthy moisturized hair .
    I feel your pain, even more so when it's someone I know saying things like this, I do my best to educate people around me anyway
    God bless

      😭😅 this shouldn't be funny ... honestly I feel bad
      I actually know and follow people with "healthy", long and thick relaxed hair but they've done their research and learnt how to relax it but most people who relax their hair don't do that and believe in a narrative that it's just an escape from kinks.

      but long isn't also for the weak and I have experienced both. I totally agree with dealing with insecurities and breakage but NOT spreading the narrative that it is devilish, mad or it only has bad attributes meanwhile relaxed hair is the opposite...that I won't support😭

    I’m so angry ,I have alit to say but this lady is just making me not wanna say everything on my mind …I already know that anyone who relaxes their hair didn’t take their time to accept,learn and love their true hair ..All that she achieved after relaxing could easily be achieved with aloe Vera ,a product with flax seed or any conditioner with slip but she had no patience or knowledge after three years ..(Sigh)Her hair was was more beautiful and healthy before the relaxer…now she has lost her volume ,thickness and beautiful hair texture for scanty wet chicken looking hair and this is what people see to be beautiful ????

    Forest on her own head not ur own. People react to things differently. Don't come at her cause she can't handle her hair the way you will your own. Some people have even cut their hair its all individual don't come and be building castle out of nothing

    It may SOUND RUDE to this channel and all the commenters but we are ALL different, you watched a video of someone's opinion of their OWN hair (Hers) and felt the need to make a video- featuring her and asking your audience to have the same opinion as you?
    If she is relaxing Her hair, it does not make or break ANYONE else.. Why cant she make content about HER OWN HAIR? She said ouch and you say she is spreading a bad narrative..
    Respectfully you could've made this same video without shading her OR anyone else, Social media make you all think you can put down other creators just to make content when you need to mind your own business about anothers perosn body or what grows out of it.

    • @marionmarion3675
      @marionmarion3675 3 месяца назад +4

      Its not about her relaxing her hair, it's the negative connotations she gives to our hair to justify her reasons. Its ok to say, I am unable to deal with my hair and I think relaxed hair will be easier to manage. But to push the narrative that our hair is impossible goes beyond her video and influences black women and girls on how they think about their hair. It props up the prejudices against 4c hair and that in the long run is soo damaging to women
