The fact that Rich never washed his hands and grabbed Jeremy's face several times intentionally h u r t m e. Other than that, the dynamic movements, the green lighting, the facial reactions, everything just feels so fleshed out every song you animate aaaaaa

my personal little headcanon: at 1:41, the reason rich says "then" so many times is because the real rich is trying to kind of fight back against the squip and trying to stop himself from telling jeremy about it.

ok a little detail that i noticed is that even tho he always bullied Jeremy, he says he is ALMOST hopeless, 4:04 but when he is talking about himself he says he was straight up hopeless 1:30 like he seems himself without the squip as someone without a chance to stand out, and from his perspective even Jeremy, the guy that he always bullies, has more chances than the old him, probably im just overthinking it but is something that i wanted to point out
I think it's to signify that he would be hopeless except for the squip. Like "you *would* be hopeless, but I've got something that can help you."
Real answer. Jeremy isn't as low as Rich was. Rich was hopeless and suicidal, a far cry worse than Jeremy. Jeremy just doesn't want to be bullied and get through highschool with his head on straight without being picked on. Loser>suicidal lgbtq kid lost and figuring out his sexuality yet feeling completely alone. It's hard af.

I love the way that you drew Rich's nose, i have nose like his and i get kind of get bullied and people make joke about my nosee and i feel so insecure about that i cried so much about it, rich is my second favorite character in the musical and someone drawing him with a nose like mine what im trying to say is when i kinda have the same nose with one of my fav characters even tho its a fan animatic it feels good and makes me feel good about my nose, great animatic by the way! I don't know if this is something everyone already noticed or not but at 0:58 to 1:01 Rich slips into his more natural 'lispy' voice instead of his non-lispy, SQUIP-altered voice. It likely popped back out at that moment because he was recalling his life before he was SQUIP'd. That's a really nice detail the actor put in there, I love it.

watching this again, and i just wanna add, i also love the expressions, hands, the difference in their body types and designs, the turnarounds, that part where you see rich in the mirror and then he comes on screen, and everything honestly lol
the way you make characters talk with their hands is just blowing my mind. so many good hand gestures (a lot of other cool stuff too ofc! but the hands really get to me)

Not gonna lie, that sounds genuinely horrifying when you think about it.
I must be an odd one out because not only is it cheaper than a life coach or hell even a personal trainer but it's there to help make sure you meet your goal. If he didn't want to take over the world and was just a designation overall life coach program designed to help the individual without taking over free will I'd go for it no regrets. I noticed that it does a sort of cause and effect demonstration. Without the help you don't meet your goals and are sad, logically speaking. With the help it shows you just the kind outcome it's trying to establish with you and what your goals look like. Frankly I'd get a SQUIP right now to help me meet financial goals, vocal training (it shows it's capable with Rich's lisp), physical training, damn the consequences and all that noise sometimes the help you need is SQUIP level and the individual persons you'd need to hire, doctors, therapists, trainers, coaches, accountants, counselors, it's so fucking expensive dude.

I mean, yes it would turn your life around and make you some superhuman ubermensch, but is that really worth it if it comes at the cost of losing your own sanity? What's the purpose of becoming great if there's so little of yourself left at the end to enjoy it?
3:46 is my favorite part. The way the SQUIP is imposing behind Rich is just so good. I'm watching this stuff to help with my own animation, so this is really nice.

The hand gestures are what really made me like the squip song so much, seeing them here step by step is really blowing my mind. Also the fact that the interaction between them both and not just the song is really making me enjoy this! This is just sooooo great!!

i had to replay 3:50 SEVERAL times because of how impressed i was with the animation. i was truly blown away and had to capture every moment with my eyes, every frame was extraordinarily well done - not just in that moment but in all of your work!
I love the freshman year design. A local production had a trans dude play him, and it just added so much to the concept in my heart. Then too to the idea his squip told him to be trans *and* bi was "too many things" and to "just" stick to women, since he liked both right? What did it matter, be more chill,

Imagine me waking from a nap to see THIS!!! Claudia, you are epic! The quality of your artwork, facial expressions, and poses never dips.
I absolutely love the transitions - Rich’s freshman-year depiction, the “it’s from Japan” climax with following the pill the entire time, and now you added in this green COLOR! Nice way of characterizing the Squip, adding some different atmosphere, and foreshadowing what’s to come all at once!
Another thing I love is you using the musical cues to determine movement - musicians are constantly told to interpret musical cues for our acting. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were a director one day!
I had to chuckle at Jeremy at the end wiping his face while Rich is vocal riffing into space. 😂 You draw perfect fabric dips, by the way. Not sure if that’s the proper way to describe it, but you drew Jeremy’s cardigan pulled over his hand perfectly. Impeccable direction of Rich just squishing his face, too. I usually hate using the word perfect, because no one ever is, and I’m not trying to put you on a pedestal, but you produce such smooth, clean animatics that there aren’t enough words for me to describe them.

When I came back to this channel to watch the newest video (this one, specifically), I also decided to watch the others to freshen my memory up a bit and realized that all the thumbnails have changed with them being called Levels and showing the characters as pixelated sprites to show who's involved with the specific song, which I think is a really cool and interesting way to show the animatics! Amazing work as always, Claudia!

Holy SHIT this is a masterpiece!!! This is my favorite BMC song and ever since I found your channel four years ago I’ve been so excited to see your animatic rendition of it. I’m blown away!! There are so many amazing details that I loved (like damn, those transitions especially, wow) but one I REALLY loved was at 4:00. Jeremy’s got two girls paying attention to him but Rich has both a girl and a guy there with him. I love this little nod to Rich being bisexual!
My hc about this part was the squip was in control for most of it (after Rich tells him only girls use the stalls).
Rich (who’s definitely absolutely miserable by this point) probably DOESNT want to spread the news of the SQUIP( knowing it was probably the biggest mistake of his life)but gets overridden by the SQUIP (who wants to spread itself as far as possible).
Rich is fighting for control as the SQUIP uses Rich’s new personality against him to try and elevate Jeremy’s opinion on the SQUIP.
What animators are capable of creating is absolutely astounding to me. Just incredible work 😭

They animated the actual hand movements that Rich actually did in the musical when he starts explaining that it's Nanotechnology. I appreciate and love the attention to detail. I have listened to this for a long time but never watched to video but God I love it. Its even the right dialog!
The whole segment from 0:00 to 0:40 was incredible- all the movement and expressions felt so comfortable and realistic. I think the dialogue between the two characters also having an authentic flow made me love this bit even more then the trademark musical numbers.

There's so much here that absolutely blows me away that you did animation wise that I don't even know where to start... All the rotations of the camera, the use of shadows in the stall, the smoothness of 3:49 in general, the different perspectives of the bathroom WITH A REFLECTION in the mirror, the spot-on design of younger Rich - it's all better than a lot of professional work made by entire teams of animators and storyboarders! The fact that you're making the entire musical and put it online for free is insane but in the absolute best way
