@@Pjalphareacting Yes. Some of them seriously injured. He used the escape routes that he could drive on a detour. According to the authorities, there should have been a police vehicle there. So far, no one knows why there wasn't one.

We left the market a few minutes before the attack. There were a lot of families with small children at this time. It's disgusting what happened there.

This attack so close to Christmas is truly devastating. As far as we know now, many of his statements are very contradictory. What we do know is that a year ago, he repeatedly wrote on Twitter that he only saw violence against the German state as his path forward, and the authorities didn't take it seriously and did nothing. In my opinion, such acts can never be fully explained rationally, as there are evil forces at work here. It's very sad, and I'm praying for the people affected.

You forgot to mention that he was an AfD and Musk supporter!
Ex Muslim and enemy of Islam, and claimed Germany was Islamizing the country, sound familiar?

I didn't forget that; I left it out along with all the other contradictory nonsense he spouted because there's no coherent explanation for it. It doesn't make sense because then he'd also be a leftist, a refugee supporter, and a friend of Israel, etc. Anyone doing that is trying to score some cheap political points with a horrific act whose motives couldn't be more unclear. But if you want to say something political about it, it's that he wouldn't have been in Germany if existing borders and laws had been consistently applied.

However, we must not use such acts to take revenge or to gain power over us.
For example, yesterday in our town, a man was arrested who had threatened on TikTok to stab Arab or Mediterranean-looking people with a knife after Christmas at our Christmas market. I saw the video and the guy was full of hate. He didn't even realise that he was lumping together all people who have a different skin colour.

Of course we have to wait for the investigations and not jump to conclusions. Everyone knows that. But you are absolutely right. CCN is shifting the victims and reporting the crime through its own ideological lens. Mentioning that there is supposedly a lot of xenophobia in Germany and France as a possible motive is a slap in the face to the victims because it creates a feeling of “it's your own fault”. This kind of reporting (whether left or right wing) makes me angry.
I don't care if the perpetrator was unhappy with his life in general or with his life in Germany in particular. Lock him up. Forever. After that, there are 2 things to do:
    1. Take care of the victims
    2. Develop better methods to track down assassins before they carry out an attack and stop demanding changes after attacks have already been carried out.

Why were you so offended by CNNs take? All they said is that its unclear if this was the sort of political/religious motivated terrorism one would have expected. Of course you may have a slightly different definition of what exactly constitutes terrorism. Is it CNNs fault that you have a different take on that? I dont care if you label that terrorism or not. The victims dont care either. 4 are dead and up to 200 injured. They dont care about your or CNNs definition of terrorism. What they deserve tho is a full disclosure of what who, why, what happened, and CNN is trying to get to this with the information they had at the time.
Nobody is trying to control the narrative, as you suggested. What was presented are FACTS about this guy, his background and what he wrote on social media. It was mentioned that this guy is not what you would have expected, and it is TRUE, that this guy is not what you would have expected. (Im)migration: Nobody but the alleged perpetrator HIMSELF is trying to make this about immigration (he claimed that the german government is trying to islamize Europe, and the only party to help with this would be the AfD. Once again, a middleaged anti-islam activist, Arabian atheist, with good education, a job, being in Germany for 20y, who turns out to be a AfD fanboy is not what anyone would have expected based on past experience (which we unfortunately have).
The commenter said it explicitly "the motivation is unclear". How is that gaslighting? You are free to make your own conclusions, based on the facts presented. Your mileage may vary (compared to others) with what you conclude. I dont see how ANYONE in this video tried to gaslight you. If the FACTS presented are offensive to you, if you feel bothered by them, the problem is you, and not those facts.
