I haven't seen Knuckles yet, but it looks like it's more about the human side character (whatever his name is) and Knuckles is just there. Kind of disappointed about that. The show really should be called "A Man & Knuckles".
I think his name is Wade 🤔 I was think "Wade & Knuckles" but I don't think anyone would care if that was the title... so I thought "& Knuckles" would fit better. It fits with the meme, and it's still true about the show 😅
I will play devil's advocate and see why some Sonic fans are disappointed with Knuckles. I felt even with Sonic 1 and 2 focusing on humans at points it still felt like the majority of those movie's focus was on Sonic. Knuckles does feel more like the Wade show especially in the 2nd half. I also do think the Sonic movies are overall better than Knuckles even with it's highlights. But worst Sonic media ever made? Nah. I can even get why some Sonic fans didn't like episode 4, because it would be cool to see Knuckles past with Knuckles actually experiencing it, but I actually admire it with how freaking crazy it was and the effort put into the sets and music. Easily one of my favorite episodes. Also, them explaining Knuckles having fire powers in this universe by beating Iblis and gaining the flames of disaster is actually a pretty cool explanation. Although, I do raise my eyebrow at fans complaining about how the series desecrated Iblis' legacy. The one-half of Solaris nobody cares about. Like I get we are in the era where fans say "06 isn't that bad", but I don't even see 06 ever talk about Iblis. In fact, the Knuckles series is the only time recently I've ever seen people talk about Iblis.
Like I said, thank goodness I dodged a bullet never being a Knuckles fan nor using streaming services. Thank goodness we're not missing much... I always play the devil's advocate, btw.

So let me get this straight, Clement is “clowning” on people who wanted a show that mostly revolves around knuckles and got duped into thinking so based on all the trailers that were shown to us by paramount themselves. Hell they even show the final fight with the buyer in multiple trailers and it only lasted about a minute at best. I’m not saying Clements opinion is invalid or anything like that but I am saying that people have the right to be pissed when they ordered a hamburger and got cold peas instead.
People have the right to be mad or frustrated just as much as the people who enjoyed it. At the end of the day it is your opinion alone that formulates your enjoyment of it. I have friends who strongly disliked this show and I hold no ill will towards their opinions; they are entirely valid, just as Clement's enjoyment of Knuckles is entirely valid too.

Mediocre is literally the best description for Knuckles. Look I won’t pretend the wedding subplot in Sonic Movie 2 was highlight moment, but that stuff was way more enjoyable than anything we got with Wade and the new human characters in the Knuckles show… Comedy is the most subjective thing ever because nothing was funny to me with Wade and his family. It’s just a blank stare. It’s all painfully uninteresting. I don’t hate the show. It’s not the worst thing I ever seen. There’s some stuff I liked. The single best thing about this show to me was the few Sonic lore reference. And the action fights. It could be insanely better than what we end up with. Even though Knuckles is the equivalent to the first Sonic movie, Knuckles isn’t about Knuckles. The first Sonic movie wasn’t all about Tom the cop. The movies were as good as they were because they had way more Sonic lore/elements then Knuckles ever did. I don’t know why defenders missed this. And how dare you dissed Grounder and Scratch. :p

I'd been hearing some people saying the Knuckles Paramount+ show was bad too, at the time I didn't have Paramount+ so I couldn't watch it for myself, but a few days ago my family got the service and when this podcast showed up I remembered to check it out, and after watching the Knuckles show I actually agree with Clement here, I like this show, I think it's good, not great but good, I thought it was entertaining and while not every joke lands I did have a good time with the show, I found Wanda a little obnoxious but it wasn't a deal-breaker.

Clement has a problem with motion-sickness? Dude might need to purchase himself a pair of motion-sickness wristbands, like the ones I use for MY motion-sickness! I use those things for EVERYTHING!!!! They're SUPER useful and can be used for MORE than just motion-sickness. I use them for just about ANYTHING that gives me nausea. Just be prepared for if you DO use them - they trade out nausea for fatigue, but I say that's a pretty good trade. I'd rather be exhausted than feel like I'm going to blow chunks every second of the day...
The Knuckles show did not make me chuckle. I'd rather flex my muscles. (In seriousness I thought it was fun. Didn't feel as great as the movies but it was fun.)

The difference between Knuckles and the movies is that the movies actually focus on Sonic and friends. I can get behind a human subplot there because it doesn't ultimately detract from the experience as a whole. Knuckles just felt like a waste of time, it's like they're embarressed/don't know what to do with this show so they just did what the first movie did but WAY worse. Fish out of water alien CG character meets human and they go on a roadtrip through the United States while agents with technology follow and hunt them. Which one is that? Sonic 1 (2020) or the Knuckles show? After Sonic 2, this show is a huge step back from embracing the franchise and the fact that it gets a pass because "it's just a silly little appetizer" is so odd. I'm not saying it should be as big or good as the main course but said appetizer should feel worthwhile too. People are in the right to feel cheated by something as mediocre as this.
I’ve seen the 1st Sonic Movie, and let me tell ya, the 1st movie wasn’t even a movie about Sonic. It was a movie about James Marsden’s character, Tom Wachowski, and that’s pretty much it. The 2nd Sonic Movie did focus on the Sonic characters more, but the 2nd act of the film focuses on Tom’s sister in law, and her fiancé.

The Knuckles show struggles to include Knuckles for the majority of the runtime. We follow Wade's pov for the majority of the runtime. Don't compare the movies to this show, they regressed badly.

Heck it’s pretty much the same as the Knuckles show, where it’s not about the title character but rather the human character. And part of the problem of the 2nd movie is the “DEVIATION” where we see Rachel spends like 30 minutes, trying to get her fiancé back, more then following Sonic and Tails. Of course the Knuckles show wouldn’t be about Knuckles, but as someone who hasn’t seen the first two movies it isn’t a surprise.

Compare the backlash the Knuckles show received to the first movie, the ratio of enjoyment favors the film because Sonic is actually at play. A Star Fox lore episode should be an easy one. Not even 10 games for the 31 year-old franchise.
Not only that, we have essentially 3 different versions of the Star Fox 1 plot. Aside from that, it's just 2, Adventures, Assault and Command.
