Try Sony Xperia Z tab. That ancient tablet has higher res than this. This guy has experienced lots of products and his opinion is based on comparison. Not just a biased, Samsung-only-user
Great tablet for basically everything. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS I bought it specifically for art, and that 4k screen is really fantastic for it! Also has LOUD audio, even tho the speakers aren't in necessarily prime locations it really projects! You do need to get a case for this bad boy IMMEDIATLY though as it doesn't come with one.Battery life is really good! Standby time us FANTASTIC. This guy can go about a week on standby and be just fine. The screen is massive so the longer you have the screen on, brightness especially, it will effect battery life. I am very happy with it though! One thing that I didn't consider is that since the screen resolution is so high, viewing ticktocks/ reading webtoons can be slightly blurry. There is no way to turn down resolution either, so it just be like that.Would still judge this bad boi at 10/10 for my first tablet. I've had it 3 months now and its not shown any evidence of "slowing down" or anything. Love it!
I don't understand all that nagging about "lower" resolution crap, even if the previous models have higher resolutions. This little thing has more pixels than a freaking 1080p TV that's as large as 70"! NOBODY needs so much resolution in a table less than 10".
Yep, for phone i always prefered 1080p, because with the same hardware it needs less RAm and run faster. This tablet has plenty of pixels an most media files support only 1080 for now. It also run faster due to the lower res.
I have a 4k projector and 1080p is actually good enough, on a 10 inch, its enough with 1080p, most content is 1080, many streams are 720p, very few 4k netflix in norway
I just got my S2 and I love it. my main fuss with my old tab s was how sluggish it was and that's cleared up. I didn't feel spending all the extra cash for an S3 for some faster ram. I'm happy :)
Martin, sorry for my confusion, I was referring to Samsung in general not just this model(perhaps should have ranted elsewhere)☺. The A and the E are both low storage, in fact the E is 8gb..what?? that's really far too low. I know there's the slot for extra on all, but it's time they put at least 64gb internal in all models plus the card slot. And it's also about time that when they sell their products(all companies), and say it's 16gb...that's what should be wholly available at first use (I know adding apps/photos etc will eat into that). I get that some users probably won't use all 64gb..so then it's just spare extra for whenever, but I do know loads who can use the extra internal, and I know loads who have to add via the slot because there's never enough space. Samsung particularly are hugely profitable and should stop skimping on consumer wants, for a bigger purse.
Everyone forgot that this is a full RGB-matrix AMOLED panel, not a Pentile panel, that means it is as sharp as an equivalent IPS panel and doesn't cheat with its sub-pixel arrangement.
REVIEW / CRITIQUES. I have this device. Reviews like this are pushing things thinner. it's really not that great when it comes to the sacrifices made to keep it thin. I'd much rather have better battery life and some speakers worth a damn. A few notes for just real world use not mentioned in your review. - No quick charge, or wireless charging capabilities, especially discouraging considering its sacrificed battery life, which I've already noticed is not great at all, better not forget to plug in between uses if your gonna use it allot. - A better system, or even any system, should be available to auto sync, or cloud access to files like photos and music across devices. dissapointing when your smartphone is also samsung, this seems obvious. - No themes store, you can customize themes on the s6, why not this. Terrible when you think TouchWiz is ugly, outdated, and tacky, as I do. - No camera flash, I know it's a tablet, but if you're gonna put a camera on it come on, I wish it had front and rear flash. - The fingerprint reader seems unreliable, only had 2 days and more often than not I have to retry several times to unlock the device, I've tried redoing the scan and added a couple fingerprints to no avail. - Accessories from Samsung are very pricey, I can't remember exact prices but $60 for a basic case / cove!?, $150 for a keyboard!? Yeah no thanks. - No mention of durability, I don't have the money to beat mine up, but it'd be nice to have an idea. It seems very delicate, like holding a piece of glass. - considering the price and how bad the speakers are, you'd think they would throw in some earbuds, although I think the days of included earbuds are gone. All things considered, I've not had it very long but I'd give it like 3 / 5 stars or an 😐. A decent speedy device with some dissapointing flaws. Kinda pricey for what you get. If anyone is interested I'd be glad to give real world answers If anybody has questions, it'll be my only tablet for awhile, I'm just a regular guy with a budget so.
+Sichiweza Shula That's tough to say, I was debating between the nexus 9 and this when I decided on this one. Overall I'd say tab s2. I can't give an unbiased answer because I didn't buy a nexus 9 so I haven't messed with it. I don't like stock Android which is one of the main reasons I went with the Samsung, and overall this has been a good tablet. the nexus is a bit cheaper, but it doesn't have an SD card slot, no fingerprint scanner. Battery life is similar on both from what I've read. if you can easily afford either one I'd go with the Samsung, but if money is tight I'd take a closer look at the nexus 9. A quick Google search of galaxy tab s2 vs nexus 9 can get you more info if your looking for it. Thanks.
Nathan, I was going to get the Nexus 9 but when I read the reviews about "light bleed" on the screen of some of them it put me off. Also, I feel the same as you that having no memory card slot is an issue. I am pleased I got the Samsung Tab2 9.7
It might the same processor but is an updated version of it so its more efficient with battery and the way it processes the system and the differnce in ppi is the fact that the screen is 4;3 ratio please dont forget that
I wish tech companies would offer tablets without a camera. I have no need for a camera on a tablet whatsoever, it only takes space from other needed features.
Should I get the Nvidia Shield or this btw I want a tablet with a good screen good specs and descent battery and I mainly want a tablet for portable gaming please help me!!!!!!!!
Terrific Android tablet if having the S-Pen isn't needed. Samsung should be coming out with a replacement for the Note Pro. Which would include a S-Pen and mirror the features of the Note 5 phone. And should have a keyboard-case support. Like the just announced iPad Pro.
Does anyone know if last years model galaxy tab 2 10.5 will get upgraded to at least android 5.1.1? I am in the market for a tablet for Web browsing and movie watching but it seems the tab s2 is a downgrade from the 2014 version.
I had the Samsung Note 10.1 and it was excellent (especially if you need the pen functionality). It is older though so now I'm going for this Tab S2 9.7
It will never slow down if take care of it a little bit. You may want to disable some of the useless built-in apps and keep it junk free. It will run smooth forever. These high-end devices have plenty of memory and power.
I don't have the multiple user option on my Samsung Galaxy Tab s2 T815. Can someone help? No option under settings, device or in right corner of screen. I'm on lollipop 5.0.0.2
Is John Filipino? He sounds a lot like me when I was still learning how to speak English back then, lots of slurring and awkward pronunciation. Not hating, just an observation.
Really ?? incredible that has no HDMI port. Who wants a tablet with HD resolution but no hdmi port? absolute madness. I have the TOSHIBA AT300 since last year, with no problem and it is a great wonder, not change it for any other

well I do have a pc for that, however I do not want to be throwing money at last year hardware please, or if that's going to be the case can I get it cheaper ,,, please since is "last year hardware".

Well samsung you have screwed up again. Why doesn't this have the new powerful chip found in the note 5?! Why is the screen lower resolution than last year, the final slap in the face 6 hours of battery life with no fast charging! Why can't I but an amoled screen tablet that uses current technology? smh.
i agree with you on all points. hopefully next year theyll correct all these issues. or at the very least most of them. going to keep my tab s 10.5 until then.
this is not a low resolution screen the screen is high resolution some people are just nitpickers and hard to please
Yeah it's the industry standard high res screen, any higher is worse for performance / battery

This is the best review I've seen thus far. Debating between this and the iPad Mini 2.
What was the silver stand they were using in the video? Looks neat!
question: it is better to buy the 32gb version or the 16gb. IF i can just buy a 128gb micro SD card anyway? I would appreciate your opinion thanks

Can a pen/stylus be used with it? If yes, please recommend a good aftermarket pen/stylus.
How annoying is to watch movies on a 4:3 display compared to the 16:10?
Go to best buy and try them all out
If you are going to use it for watching moves go for a 16:10 instead. 4:3 is only used because it's convenient for browsing web pages.
Professor Percival Wulfric
Agreed that's why I went and bought a used Galaxy Tab 8.4 in like new condition with zero scratches and works perfect

I just ordered a gold version for my mom as a gift, it will come tomorrow, I hope Moma likes it :D
Can you make regular phonecalls with this tablet? Like normal phones like Iphone and the others, or does it only work with skype and that stuff=? :)
you can use it as a phone
Thank you mate! :D

Should I go for the Tab S2 8" or 9.7"? Want to use it for a little bit of everything but mostly for reading ebooks. "PPI doubts". Help, please... ☺
I think for reading the 8.0" is enough, more pixels too. 9.7" is a bit overpriced but I was able to get mine for $350 so it was much more worth it.
On s2 right now love it.
Does this have multi-user support?
yes it does
6644pmr Thank you. I knew it was native to Lollipop, but wasn't sure if this had it.

Is there mirroring on the S2?

Is this better than last years tab S or no ?
is this thing water resistant
no
Andy Lam, i own it and it is water resistant. Mabye you are one of those test dudes and threw it in a pool.
Can someone recommend a durable cad for the tab s2 ? Other than Samsungs $70 case
Does this support s pen?
Its a fantastic tablet, just got nougat on mine. Awesomeness!
6 h 47 m battery life. Really Samsung?
I have this tablet too. The tablet is so beatyfull
yep! it does
How is the youtube app on it are there black bars ???
+NoWiredGaming Because of the 4:3 aspect ratio of the screen. It's not 16:9.

I’ve had mine a few years, now it’s turning off n on n won’t stop. The screen just shows the name n goes black
Is John Filipino? He sounds a lot like me when I was still learning how to speak English back then, lots of slurring and awkward pronunciation. Not hating, just an observation.
Yea he sounds like Pacqauio. Not sure how he got this job ....

If the Tab S series didn't exist, this would've been Tab 5.

Enrique Moreno a lot of people as it makes them thicker
Why would u need one when u can cast the content in 1080p..... think about it...
How much is samsung S2 tablet
imo, the tab pro has a better looking screen. more bright, real colors not over saturated. too bad Samsung no longer makes the pro line.
im still waiting note 10.1 2015 or 2016 edition...
I can't find the 10.5 one....:(
i have one 😛😝
Please can u actually make a call like a normal phone on this tablet????
if you get LTE one and have a plan on a carrier
its a good tablet for 2019?
Yes you should buy it
have you bought one?
I'm choosing between this and the iPad mini 5.
does anyone know if the tab s2 mhl compatible?
+Joe Palacio Yes, it is compatible, but ... I cannot get the fullscreen on my TV :(
You will have just a screen mirroring so on your 16:9 TV you will have two black stripes on both (left and right) sides :(
I'm trying to find a workaround about it but have no luck.
Thank you so much AFromPoland for the info I greatly appreciate it
Can this tab make normal call's please
Tab s2 9.7 or Huawei mediapad m2 10?
Like my question, I gonna to mediapad m2 10 Because I watch a lot RUclips videos & movies
They are the same performance but your choice depends if you love brand specific
Get jbl speaker sound problem fixed.
If only iPad had the screen - not bad but I'll stick with the iPad for this year at least.
Battery life watching videos?
+PhoneArena You didnt even mention worst part(even though it is obvious), It has 4:3 screen ratio.
So RUclips Netflix or any sort of watching video sucks.
This is why I'm looking at the Xperia z4 tablet instead
+loyal4 the way the z4 phone overheats but the tablet doesn't.
looking for something under 600 tala anyone have any idears im stuck with samsung due to softwere compatability
so its a lower resolution screen, lower processor, lower power battery and no IR blaster? great backward thinking by Samsung there. this is why im sticking with an ipad
that's what I'm watching this on now
sick of the down grading of products

got an lte 9.7 for 260. worth it
+Onome Omobien where

Internal memory 32 gb? Really?
he is playing Taylor Swift video......😍
I think that the tablet is very "zippy" and "snappy" too.
If you want to see Oreo for the tab S3 check out this video -m.ruclips.net/video/MBnHnPTx1EM/видео.html

i cant understand
Do people really use tablets or just buy them to have them lol
I use the shit outta mine I just got an S6 about a month ago and that I don't use nearly as much now
It looks more like an A8 than a note 4 and wrong use of the word uncanny
