Thanks a lot. This was incredibly helpful. My old screen had been messed up for a while and I had a new one lying around but never got off my ass and tried fixing it cause it thought the process is probably too complicated for a non hands-on person like me. But with the help of this video I was able to do it successfully in a little over an hour.

thanks for the tutorial, i was able to replace the LCD in about an hour. also a tip for others, a guitar pick works great for removing the display bezel if you have one laying around...

Thanks for your great video, I was able to change the screen with no trouble and this was my first time installing a new screen.

While it is true that often times you can get the bezel off by just using a screwdriver at an angle, we found that you can strip the screws very easily doing this and/or crack or otherwise break the bezel much easier. Because of this we decided to show the longer way to perform this replacement in order to save the viewer potential head aches.

Wow, this is almost exactly what I was looking for; I'm assuming it will be almost exactly the same for the CQ61? I have to say though, it looks like a much bigger job than I anticipated; I'm not sure I'm confident enough to take on the job myself! Great video, much appreciated

Hey I tried this out to remove my broken LCD Screen so that I could use the computer with another screen. Everything worked out perfect, except that most of the keyboard is 'broke'. Well, everything to the left of f3,2,w,s,x,alt keys are working, but everything else does not respond. What could I have done wrong, and how would I fix it? Thanks for the video, it was nice and well explaining, it is just me who is noob at this still, learning about comp's this very moment you see :) Thanks again!

Have you checked the ribbon cable to make sure it is seated securely? If not you may want to check again to make absolutely sure. I hope that helps!

Idk what happened, but I followed this guide. Put everything back together, and it will not power back on. Is there some kind of reset button I need to hit? It powered on before i took it apart. I removed the keyboard a 2nd time just to make sure i had the powr cable for the power button seated correctly, And I did.

Why not leave the hinge and frame on and just unplug the lcd screen ribon cable?

If you could please give me some feedback on this: I have a white screen issue with my laptop, Compaq Presario CQ62 model. And I asked geek squad what it could be they gave me some info. Someone opened the bottom portion (while replacing my keyboard and back cover which also needed fixing) and checked but found nothing wrong. So then they told me, that they thought it was probably due to the video cable becoming disconnected or damaged/torn. Well I just opened that up to check for myself and the cable was attached and in perfect condition. But the white screen is still there. So, is it my LED screen that apparently has something wrong with it and needs replacing, but it doesn't appear to be cracked or broken in anyway, but I suppose it could be some kind of internal damage in the screen that's causing it. Or is there ANY OTHER possible reason/s for this problem. Thank you so much to anyone who helps me on this.

I did this and now my computer won't turn on. The fan is running like crazy! Also I can take out the battery and plug in the charger and the fan still goes nuts. It won't stop unless I take out the Battery
