I followed the Compaq instructions for totally taking the laptop apart. This tutorial was way better. Thank you uploader. I do have a problem though. I replaced the screen and can hear the laptop boot into Windows and see a back-light on the screen working, but the screen stays dark. I can hook-up an external and can see and run windows just fine but switching back to laptop screen it goes all black.
I like this way tons better. More simple and a lot easier to remember, especially for someone who's not so techy lol. Thank you for the quick and easy way out! :)
Thank you very much for taking the time to post this video. ive never changed or removed a laptop screen in my life and your video made it simple to understand :D now i can say i know how to remove and replace a laptop screen ^.^
Just wanted to leave a thankyou, I followed your instructions and replaced the screen on my uncles CQ62. One problem, here in Australia I bought a screen locally but it wasn't the LG one you showed. It fitted OK and works, but I reckon it's a knock-off part, the image quality seems way too bright. I've turned the brightness down in Windows, but it's still not great.
ok.so all i need is to find what kind of blacklight it uses and buy one with the exact resolution, size and blacklight type right?i mean any lcd screen with the same resolution, size and blacklight will do right? thank you for your first swift answer.excellent videos.so helpfull.there is no way i could affort service.
I kind of wonder whether this particular PC would tolerate a full HD resolution screen upgrade. This is considered a budget PC so I am not all that sure whether the built-in graphics card can handle 1080p at all.
hello from broke greece.i just broke my moms screen and i will soon be dead.im handy with tools so i wanna give it a try.still the laptop is a CQ61 model.will the same method apply?or is there an extra step?
would you recommend a screen replacement if my hp start up scren pops up and then immediately after bars ad lines show up. If I move the screen it sometimes blacks out. Help Please :/
I have the connection on the actual Screen PCB connected just fine. I am wondering if I may have tugged a bit on the other end of the cable that connects to the motherboard..... does that sound like my issue?
You can buy a Compaq Presario CQ62 Screen replacement on Amazon.com. Now, they have all different submodels, so your gonna have to take out the battery and look inside for the exact model number.
my laptop goes from white to blue depending on the angle and whether or not i give it a few taps on the top of the frame, in which case It looks perfect. when I angle it forward enough the screen stops refreshing/ ie its a still frame slightly whited out. is this because of the video cable?
Hey, I wanted to thank you guys for this video but i need some help. My screen cracked so i decided to replace it. I googled the exact name of my laptop and found a replacement screen. When I replaced it, at first the Compaq logo came on and then the system boot screen. After that the backlight went out. Did I get the wrong screen? There was "LP" no number on both of them. Please help and thanks in advance!
ok so for my old screen i have the main connnector but then.... there is like another little connector with nuthing going to it.... i bought a new screen but the backlight doesnt turn on.... like i can barely see whats on the screen but there is no backlight.... and this one doesnt even have the little connector basically the new screen looks like the one on the video my broken one has to connecotors.....

@BradInTucson the screen should be compatible. I would try the old screen again, and if it works then the new screen is defective.
Hello, and thank you for the helpful video. Is this a CQ62z-200, by chance?
