Great video Willie, as a resident of Lewes it's great to see a visitor's perspective. The Dripping Pan and Lewes FC is something i can share more of. The ground for the stadium was in fact dug out to build the Mount nearby, and it's thought this Mount was going to be the original (or at least temporary) location of the motte and bailey fort for William de Warrene before he built the castle.
The stadium has been home to Lewes FC since 1885, which makes it the oldest continually used football stadium in Sussex. The big wall that backed onto the road is a historic flint wall, and there were issues with the Football Association in the 2000s, as Lewes' football level required higher grading of stadiums, but due to the history, that side of the stadium could not be renovated.
Lewes FC themselves were formed in the Royal Oak pub which you may have passed by (still an excellent pub nowadays), and have gotten as high as the 5th division of England in 2008/09. They also run off of a fan-ownership scheme since 2010, allowing fans to pay a certain amount per year to be an owner - as you mentioned this town has a strong community, and this shows through the success of this scheme. The team are nicknamed the Rooks, mostly due to the abundance of Rook birds around the town, but apparently also as a play of words relating to the Rook chess piece, as it represents a castle, of which Lewes of course also has - this is also represented in the club badge. I can direct you to source for any more history about the club if you'd like, great video again :)

The firework parades are the best I have been to. In 1975, real fires and "Kill the Pope" societies, real fights, plenty of beer, and lots of noise. There are You-tube films of the older parades if you search. Lewes is one of the best historic towns in England. Its quiet without the railway to Uckfield, and the A27 used to run up the High Street. Good Video, well researched.
