My Ruckus doesn't seem to be running right. Can I get it all sorted out by the end of this ride?

Hope the Ruckus makes a complete comeback. Enjoy your trips around Vegas. Been far to long since I’ve been out there.

Thanks, Jeff! I'm sure the Ruckus will be fine, I just need to spend more time riding it. Let me know if you have plans to return to Vegas in the future. You could rent a scooter and we could go take a ride or two.

I also use a little gumout complete fuel system cleaner once a month

I should try that in mine. Thanks for the comments, Terry. Be safe out there, buddy.

You definitely need a battery charger to leave on with a trickle charge when it’s not being ridden. Good vid, though. I just bought a 2022 Ruckus myself. Mine runs a bit rough from about 10 - 25 mph, then runs great and tops out at 38 mph. I’d like to get it up to 45 mph. That’s my goal. Personally, I hate riding my Ruckus in traffic. Too many people have no respect for a Ruckus when the speed limit is 40 and over. But I love it when I don’t have to worry about driving defensively and can just ride. I only ride in traffic when I have to but that’s why I’d like to pick up another 5-7 mph and reach 45 top end.

🐍 You got sticky rollers in your variator.
The variator in your CVT transmission is the rpm governor when you're rolling.
    After sitting unrun,
the dust in there turns into a solified ridge stopping full travel of the rollers.
Keep stopping and going and the dust ridge may break loose eventually.
    Variator dust needs cleaning periodically.
When you open it up to clean it, be prepared to replace the rollers. 🖖🤙

I might still upgrade the variator and rollers. The Ruckus has been running better since I made this video but I'm sure it would still benefit from a good overall cleaning and servicing.

@@sincloth7022 OK, no such thing as upgrade...just "change" or "retune".
Don't fall for that salesman bullshit.
You can't really trust those shop guys who sell the stuff.
Go to a Ruckus Ride and let those guys who already modded their bikes tell you exactly what you need depending on how you want to change your performance. A lot of "upgrades" are really overpriced downgrades. Also don't forget about the clutch spring and how that works into your returned setup.
Weigh your rollers before you buy new ones cause higher and lower weights give opposite performance. And also find out what how many pounds your clutch spring is....Good Luck.

Try stop using ethanol gas. It leaves a white build up in the carb. I use only ethanol-free gas. Carb cleaner.

I have noticed some throttle bog on mine only when it is extremely hot and humid here in lndiana. Just got 1200 miles on mine. I use Mobile One oil in mine. I think you might have a fuel issue.

I just bought a brand-new Ruckus and have under 30 miles on it. It’s had a bit of hesitation at mid-throttle since my first ride. Anyone else notice this with a new Ruckus? It’s irritating and I hope it clears up. I was told by a dealer that once the cosmoline smell burns away it could clear up. The smell is pretty much gone but it still isn’t running quite right.

@@tbhausen my brand new 22’ the needle with the slide was bent out of the box and the throttle cable was adjusted completely wrong(turn bars left and it’d raise RPMs..I’ve put 4000 miles on it since march the battery crapped out while I had it all apart fixing it last time also. Runs much better since fixing both of those issues

Bad fuel pump? The Ruckus and the 2002-2012 Metropolitan are known to have failing fuel pumps.

Maybe invest in a trickle charger and keep it plugged in when you are using it less? What's wrong with that bag set up? I have the Pakir 92 and it's awesome everything fits always and I have a fold up pizza bag that goes "20×20" if I need it but haven't used it yet. Have you seen Wilcer?

    • @sincloth7022
      @sincloth7022  2 года назад

Wilcer mostly inspired my 2nd Ruckus purchase. I have a battery tender but it's a hassle to keep popping the cover off the Ruckus. I'm just going to ride it more to keep the battery charged. I have the Pakir 65. It's been a good bag but some of the velcro keeps coming loose and one of the stiched seems is coming apart. I'm going to get a new Pakir bag and a better mounting system soon.

I got the Honda charger and it comes with a tail that you keep permanently attached to battery. You feed the plug out from the cover so it's just a quick plug in. I also made an extra L.E.D. lighting bracket wired into stock rear lights for better visibility since the larger bag kind of blocks the view.
