Oh fantastic timing, I just talked to a friend because I'm not entirely satisfied with embossing / scoring with the SNC. I'll post to the group about it I think. But I understand in this video you used a cutting mat, right? I hesitated to do that because the instructions always mentioned the embossing mat. I might be braver now and just use the cutting mat to score things
Yes, as I am not looking for an embossed result, just a slight impression for the score lines, the cutting mat is Ok. Just keep in mind what I said about it pressing the card into the mat and therefore using a brand new mat for this might cause some issues with card sticking a little more than it would normally.
Thanks John and happy new year to you, question on the SDX machine, do you know if there is in a pop line of a new machine from brother or will they discontinue this machine as other makers on the market that are more larger in size, thanks for all your videos.
Thanks for this John. Did the embossed line cause a "dent" in your mat or was it fine? I have thought about playing around with embossing tools but didn't want to mess my mat up!
Not at all. The mat was fine. Just keep in mind that this is pressing that card against the "sticky" and therefore using a new mat may result in the card sticking a little more. Gently curving the mat to get the cut out piece off works well though.
Embossing for the first time today, very timley. Thank you, Sir.
You're welcome.
Very helpful, I hadn’t thought of trying that

I am not sure that I follow the question - "do you know if there is in a pop line of a new machine from brother". Please can you clarify?
