      So true. It's become a cliche saying, but it's true... Brian was/is a pure musical genius. People hail Spector, but I think Brian was a bit superior, though influenced by Phil. Brian's creativity was something amazing.

      @@chrisPAT03 People like Lennon/McCartney, B Wilson, and Richard Carpenter were blessed with an ear which could conceive of heavenly sounds and know how to gather the vocals and instruments to make it happen. In the case of Wilson and Carpenter, they could take a song that already existed (Sloop John B, Close to You, We've Only Just Begun) and work their special magic.

      @Huawei is a criminal organization. I definitely agree. Of course Brian is known for his amazing falsetto, and he was the driving force and brains behind The Beach Boys, but his Bros, Mike and Al were absolutely essential to the band's success.

    I really believe there is something special about ‘family groups’. Since they are all related their voices just blend perfectly to create the most beautiful harmonies. They all have some the best harmonies I’ve ever heard; The Beach Boys (Wilson brothers), The Bee Gees, and the Everly Brothers.

    • @biddyfox
      @biddyfox 6 лет назад +42

      I’ve played music with my brother (who is 11 years older than me) before and I can tell you from experience that the family dynamic means a lot. Me and my brother come up with the same ideas at the same time, even while improvising. I bet if Brian, Dennis and Carl weren’t brothers but just friends the Beach Boys would never have happened

    Very nice tribute to all and especially the departed boys of summer. Saw them all together shortly before Dennis passed. One of the best concerts ever. Feel very fortunate to have taken advantage of the opportunity to see the entire group, even Brian was there, which had been rare. Overall a great and now treasured good time.

    I get lost in the depths of their voices…I close my eyes and I can see the sun setting over the ocean…I feel at peace as if I’m walking through a seaside cathedral…Without over thinking it, whenever I hear The Beach Boys sing in harmony I can feel Jah’s presence in the waves breaking on the shore…

    Holy Mother of God....I consider myself a fairly accomplished musician myself, but this just leaves me completely awestruck. Brian's arrangements are like advanced quantum physics equations done in audio form.

    The human voice as an instrument so unique in each individual blended together like orchestral instruments, with that studio echo, truly amazing that touches your soul!

    I can listen to this a million times and NEVER get bored, just AMAZING. This proves God exists. At least there must be something out there because this harmonies and melodies are from a higher level filtered by such a great human being like Brian Wilson is.

    I'm 63 and I still get tears every time I listen to these cuts. Something about the sound, the message that touched me so deeply as a kid, and instantly takes me back to a time of innocence and joy.

    Great video. One of my all time favorite bands. The awesome thing is that the whole band could sing incredibly well. Something you oddly see in a rock band. Heck..even sidemen on vocals like Al and Carl were doggone gifted..

      You got that right. A cappella singing is the ultimate test of a singer/group's true talent. And the Beach Boys longevity is testiment enough of their talent. Music that will never go out of style!

    Thank you for posting the wonderful photos of Carl Wilson.I think he'd be amazed at how missed he is missed and how much his stature has grown since he died.He never got the recognition he deserved during his lifetime.But the more people realize how revolutionary the Beach Boys really were the more they realize how crucial Carl was to that incredible sound.He was a unique talent in his own right and a wonderful human being."Speak a man;s name and he is alive".Carl will live for eternity....

    Usually, I make the comment that someone has too much time on their hands when they do something like this. This, on the other hand is beautiful. I enjoy most types of music, but the beach boys were my first favorite group & they are still one of my favorites. I have and always will enjoy their harmonizing. Thank you, young lady for sharing this with everyone and reminding me of the joyful memories of my youth. May the good Lord bless you!
