    If you’re wondering what became of the people on board the Titan sub, when the aft section of the sub was brought up, the people doing the salvage noticed a greasy substance within the wreckage, it was DNA tested and confirmed it was the five on board, so…..a greasy smear is all that was left of them.

    In the 80's there was an Argentinian Navy sub that imploded. The U.S. assisted in the recovery and almost nothing of what could be recognizable as body parts were found. After an extensive investigation it was determined that the water and debris rushing in would have almost completely mulched those sailors. This is what is believed what happened to the people on the Titan.

      I'm surprised people dont believe this/think there must be remains. There are companies out there who use jet powered water to cut through metals-everybit as effective and accurate as a laser;this should prove to anyone with any sense how immensly powerful-and lethal-water at huge speeds is, and the water crashing in on the people in that imploding sub was moving at an enormous speed.

    I don't feel safe "flying into a Boeing". But tbf the same is true for almost everything else. Also this was something even Boeing threw away.
    Also from various submarine and ship findings i learned that the human body doesn't remain intact at these insane pressures. It was pointed out (i think by James Cameron) that for that reason, the boots and shoes that you can see in Titanic footage were not just footware, forgotten or dropped there. That is literally everything that is left of people. There are no bodies bones or anything. And that's physics, not biology like at less pressure. .
    As for the controller thing, the Navy has their people steer really expensive gear, drones and stuff with almost gaming controllers, since younger people are just way more experienced with hat than joysticks. It makes no sense to readjust that.

      Almost correct, however the people that sunk with the Titanic did not immediately disintegrate.
      When sinking to the bottom of the ocean, the pressure increases slowly enough such that ones body remains intact. However they will have quickly been eaten by any deep sea critters.

    • @nsacockroach4099
      @nsacockroach4099 День назад

      Almost. However when sinking to the bottom, the human body won't get crushed. That's because the pressure will equalize with the ambient pressure due to the slowness of sinking and the lack of air in the lungs.

    It’s easy to mock the games controller, but that was one of the few intelligent choices Rush made. (Though I’d have gone with a wired one.) Games controllers, often off the shelf, are pretty commonly used for lots of important applications, from military drones and remote weapon stations, to rescue robots, to camera cranes. They’re adaptable, robust enough to survive teenagers, and a familiar form factor that’s easy for most people to learn.
    The controller was the one thing on that bucket that was not a problem.

    The horrific thing about this accident is knowing the physics about wat would happen, and in the instant the hull failed the air would have been super headed par boiling instantly anyone inside, the saving grace is that when it failed the air super heated and instantly smashed everyone to a meaty pulp, faster than the human brain can process information so it was over before they even realised it had started.

      My engineering professor called that implosion event like the inside of a cylinder in a combustion engine, with our carbon-rich bodies being the fuel to combust. A little crude and simplified, but I can't really argue with the basic ELI5 explanation.

    • @tadferd4340
      @tadferd4340 3 дня назад

      The crushing is too fast for combustion to happen. The heating is also very brief and dissipates quickly.

    Hi Kit. I watched another video on this particular investigation, which features a lot of the same Clips, and they commented that it was a non-sterile environment that they had to disinfect the entire surface of the rings, as well as the fact that they were apparently handling the rings after disinfecting it, meaning it wasn’t sterile at all. It also mentioned that the titanium was too smooth. They needed to rough the surface up a bit to encourage proper bonding of the glue that they were using.
    As well as the fact that carbon fibre was a very not very certified material for the depths that they were intending to take this sub.
    Mr rush was a very arrogant, egotistical man who thought he knew better than the experts he had hired to assist him in the creation of the submersible. Then fired said experts. And the fact is he paid with his own life. The only sympathy I have is for the passengers; Rush essentially killed himself, and he took 4 people with him.

  • @paulhowse6169
    @paulhowse6169 6 дней назад +1

    Your entire beginning about not feeling sympathy for Rush but you do for the passengers. You do realize that they were all adults, including the 19 year old. They all signed waivers warning them literally of death. They still chose to get in. Whether Rush downplayed it is irrelevant. They signed documents warning them of death. So they were aware.

    • @awmperry
      @awmperry 6 дней назад +3

      *Any* remotely physical activity with the slightest risk will include that in its waiver. It’s intended to cover reasonable risks, not to absolve the kind of negligence Rush showed.
      That waiver means “we’re doing everything we can to keep this safe, but there’s always a tiny chance something unexpected will go wrong”; you’ll see that mention of “grievous injury or death” in the small print of gokarting, bungee jumping, gliding, paintballing, even most cruises. Don’t fall for Rush’s “they knew what they were doing” gaslighting.

    • @paulhowse6169
      @paulhowse6169 6 дней назад +3

      @@awmperry Rush’s gaslighting? Rush is dead. And there was no small print. David Progue the reporter read the waiver on a very popular video clip and the word death is right there in plain size lettering. Infact the word death is mentioned multiple times not just once. My point is they were all adults and they all made the decision to get into that sub after reading and signing that waiver. I wouldn’t have and I’m Titanic obsessed

    • @awmperry
      @awmperry 5 дней назад

      But you *are* buying into it. Waivers mention death; that's what they do. For instance, the very first result I got for a family gokarting site includes a waiver for "any and all liability, loss, damages, costs, claims and/or causes of action, including but not limited to injury to the person or property and emotional and bodily injuries, including death".
      *Mentioning death in a waiver is not an indication that it should be seen as a likely result*, or for that matter any excuse for Rush's negligence. The carrier bag I brought my shopping home in disclaimed liability for death.
      The idea that one could not feel sympathy for Rush's victims because they signed some boilerplate waiver is abhorrent.
