    GREAT WORK BUDDY.. I HAD THE SAME IDEA BUT MULTIPLE PELTIER...SORRY FOR THE OTHER COMMENTS.. TOo MUCH NEGATIVITY... THAT BECAUSE THEY THOUGH ACTUALLY this WILL CHANGE IT inTO AC .. BUT THIS WILL SAVE THE HASSLES OF LODING ICE AND THE COST... AND INCREASE THE COLLING IN THE ROOM ALMOST MORE THEN 11 Degrees.. GOOD JOB... AND FOR HEAT ISSUE JUST STICK A WASHING MACHINE DRAIN PIPE TO A FUNNEL, STICK THAT FUNNEL TO FAN AND REVERSE THE FAN...OR KEEP COOLER OUT SIDE THE WINDOW... JUST LET ME KNOW ..... IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO ADD HEAT SINK IF IT IS OUT SIDE THE WINDOW.. MINE IS OUT SIDE... and THANKS AGAIN

    • @atultripathi5310
      @atultripathi5310 4 года назад +5

      I think, it is required because the temperature on the hotter side will increase a lot (if you don't add the sink). What sink does is increases the heat transfer area a lot and that helps it cool effectively with air.

    Nice effort. Don't understand why people are flaunting their degrees here.
    The Cooler has been made capable of delivering cooler air which is good.
    An AC reduces the temperature and maintains humidity. If one is using the cooler in less Humid areas, addition of cold water will give humid air which will be colder than when normal air cooler is used.
    Heat sink will throw heat in same room but one does not use desert air cooler in closed rooms so it won't be a big issue. (If used in closed room, once the air in the room gets humid enough, the air will get saturated and no cooling will be provided). What matters is the temperature of air that is exiting the cooler. If one is able to make a small duct and throw the hot air outside the room it will will be better. Still you can not expect this to be an AC.
    Simply a desert cooler made better with increased electricity consumption...👍

    Nice, not the same cycle used in AC but the setup may work.
    I think it can be balanced if the heatsink below is larger. the heat spread through the heatsink may not increase any temperature near it.

    People are suggesting to place the air cooler outside the window so that the heat produced by the heating part would not cancel the cold produced by the same peltier. Another practical way to do this without taking your aircooler unit outside, is to use a CPU water cooling radiator to cool the hot part of the peltier and place that radiator outside the room you intend to cool therefore the heat is vented outside. Your aircooler would be efficient and resembles now an split type AC though working in different principle. But the gist is the same, the cooling part is inside your room, the heat producing part is outside. Also you may place a portable ultrasonic mist maker inside your air cooler to enhance the principle of air cooling. This theoretically would significantly hasten the cooling of the room as mist will double the water evaporative output. Please mention this comment if you intend to follow my ideas to your future videos.

  • @Sleeperknot
    @Sleeperknot 4 года назад +28

    Good experiment, however you overlooked the basic concept of an AC. Every air conditioner is a heat exchanger. Meaning, it has to exchange heat from your room to outdoors. This is the reason why every Air conditioner has an indoor unit with evaporator coil and an outdoor unit which basically expels heat to outside air by virtue of the compressor. In your unit, the exchanged heat is still inside the room and it can't really cool down the room, you will only get chilled air on one side, while the hated part will expel heat onto that side, which is still inside the room.
    This is the same reason why refrigerators cannot cool down a room if their door is left open. The heat exchanged heat will still be within the same room.
    What you can try is, to heat up the water in the tray which is isolated from the cool part of the electrode, which is placed in the fan's path. Once the water absorbs some heat, throw it outside and replace with room temperatures water again. In that way, you're exchanging heat with outdoors while you drain out hot water outside. That much heat energy is gone out of your room, and you may experience overall temperature drop in the room after some time.

  • @shrabonibabu
    @shrabonibabu 4 года назад +4

    The idea is very good and simple, but the pelter hot side fan will certainly make the room hotter as heat is not ventilated from the room and the heat produced by all the electrical devices.
    Two options are available to ventilate the heat. Best would be to keep the whole unit outdoor and just let the air in. Like an window AC. In case you need to keep the unit indoor, create a 2"or 3" flexible duct, (used for vacuum cleaners) to ventilate the pelter fan air to a nearby or convenient location.

    No need of doing all this to your cooler because the water inside the cooler will automatically get cooled after using the cooler for sometime. The coolers are designed in such a way that both air and water can get cooled.
    If you don't believe me then you can check yourself, just switch on the cooler and leave it for few minutes and then check the temperature of the water.

Peltier cooling is very limited, and the heat generated by the hot side of the heat-sink will exceed the overall cool air generated. Would need a duct to channel that hot air created by the heat sink to the outside.

      However is this NOT an AC but rather a sort of supercharged Evap Cooler still, that simply cools the water more than a traditional cooler with the cooling plate?
      Therefore the heat exchanger is not needed as the plate doesn’t generate Nearly the same amount of heat, right? Because the evaporation effect is still doing most of the cooling right? Or am I missing something?

    It will heat up the room if you run this inside the room. Put the coolar outside and let the air come inside. While just little open some other window to let the air out.. these two are very basic point that 99% people do not know.
    More over, it will never work like AC but yes can provide cool air if 3 to 4 such pelters will be fitted.. otherwise useless..

      Yes , 4-5 TEC needs tobe used. We can fit near to window. So the hot air to go out with exauster.
      But this is awesome one. I searched this for 3 years. But guy take it to real.

    The whole process here is just an exercise to learn thermodynamics. The net cooling will be zero unless the heat generated by the peltier module is transferred outside the room. More ever for longer running of the system Peltier module is not worth and may get damaged very soon. The only way to cool the air in the room and avoid moisture in the air is to use heat exchanger only of copper. Then the net average room temprature may be maintained to 26 to 27 deg cent. This way it will be better than evaporative cooler but inferior to an ac.

    That two heatsinks are good enough for big cooler Box? Design should be proportion to the device.
    As per Ac working principal, room heat should go out and room will be cooled.

    The efficiency of a Peltier is less than 10%, so by using a Peltier, you'd be adding more heat (from the electrical energy converted into heat) in a closed room than the amount of heat removed from the water. Further, you don't have any heat evacuation setting to throw heat out from the room to the atmosphere outside. Thus, it'll raise humidity inside the room as the temperature of the room will rise on account of electrical heat coming from the Peltier heat sink. So, it's not a good idea to achieve cooling.
    Fancy imagination though.

    • @gurlone
      @gurlone 4 года назад

      Usually cooler are placed on window...and heat will dissipate in atmosphere.....not to worry in case of cooler fitted to window

    • @anujvats3765
      @anujvats3765 4 года назад

      @@gurlone It won't be an issue if cooler is mounted on window & sink is outside room.
      But in case it's kept inside the room the heat added will contribute to raising the wet bulb temperature making the room atmosphere uncomfortable.

    Yep, fraudulent, 😠 - that’s not going to work; you’ve got to dump/move the heat elsewhere, preferably outside. With these evaporative coolers you’d be better off putting ice cubes in its sump/tank to further cool the water, and not to use it in a room that has other heat producing things in it (like the freezer you’d got the ice cubes from) 😉
