I have listened to Angelina for 10 years now I have had many favorite Singers throughout my lifetime and Angelina has covered most of them and has surpassed them all and is therefore my absolute favorite Vocalist of all times .. if there is anyone better please point her out. Young legend is true
There is no one better. To me you've got to go back in time to find comparisons. To me the singer that performed like Angelina, with the skill and ease and with a recognizable tone and richness at a very young age and became a legend is Judy Garland. Treat yourselves to some Judy G. and I think you'll agree. There was an era of great female vocalist. Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Rosemary Clooney, Billie Holiday and so many many more. Angelina's singing is timeless like the singers of long ago. Amy Winehouse was a resent singer who was timeless. I've never been so moved by a singer as I am with Angelina Jordan and I listen to her everyday. So soothing.

I have been following all your Angelina reactions since you first discovered her way back in 2019. You are one of the OG (pre AGT) Angelina reactors, so there is no doubt in mind that you are a fan. Of course "best" is always subjective, but the way you put it is accurate. Who else was this good, this young, and also has steadily improved year after year? I can't think of one, let alone five.
There have been a few singers over the years that have hit "legendary status". When I think of some of those, and compare them to where Angelina is already.... it seems inevitable that Angelina Jordan is destined to be listed right along side names like Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, etc.

Yeah no doubt, who's better ever or now at any age? It's subjective and many have different favorites that are fair enough I'm sure, but it's got to be her already, never mind in a decade, probably not fair though. Who finds their passion at 2 years old and receives that much balance, confidence, encouragement, respect, opportunity and help from such a young age? She's been getting professional experience for like 10 years now already at only 16, so through what must be very important years. She has all those advantages because she deserved them, don't get me wrong, because she loved it so much she worked hard for probably 12 years now and it likely rarely felt like work at all.
All the praise in the world should go to Angelina, but also her family, I'd be terrified if my kid wanted that and was so good at it. The 'sharks' from a general industry standpoint, professionals around her that didn't dare mess with her just went along for the ride as much as they could. It takes a village for something this extraordinary to happen, there is a graveyard billions of people deep who's dreams were never taken seriously, never believed in themselves, and even had their will power beaten down by humanity and just became who they were told to be. People can overcome these things, and I'm sure at some point she's overcome plenty. But to be that skilled, which is less subjective and is blatantly obvious, isn't god given, and took a lot of circumstances coming together. We all knew the human potential was something we'll never see, but I assume this is close as it gets so far.
All just my opinion, but I assume 8 times out of 10 her dreams are crushed by dumb, scared, greedy humans around her, and that also if anything were god given, and didn't have human reasons, it would be her voice in general, her tone, which is certainly a big part of things as well. That the other two times out of ten they are almost adults by the time they have dreams. If a singer generally starts working on their craft at her current age, or get used and abused as a kid for greedy adults, then how could anyone be as good as her? Having artistic abilities to go with the talent at a stupidly Young age maybe helped people just not want to mess with her just try and help, and her family fought the rest off probably. So IMO there are reasons that she is as good as she is that don't apply to people other than her. So no one should really compare or pick anyway, just watch and take notes on how to treat other people, kids. Whatever those around her were doing with her, do that. She's living proof we can do better with and for kids and each other. But we live for ourselves, and those with more money and power also live for themselves. We see through our own eyes only and a thick lens of fear form our selfish perspective. A kid like that would hit anyone like a truck, make it easier to live and see for them maybe, but we could still do better for them all.

Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe.
When I first heard her perform this I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.

Great reaction! I have to agree with you, Angelina is on a level many of us have never seen before for a someone as young as her. I'm 52, listen to all kinds of music, grew up and love listening to early rock and roll, Motown, and doo wop from the 1950's and 1960's, but still like listening to today's music. She is by far the most talented and complete singer I have ever heard. Calling her Young Legend to me is just undeniable fact. She has been slowly surpassing many singers of today who are considered great singers. Angelina sings songs they way they were meant to be sung, no extra frills or un-necessary belting or runs just for the sake of showing off. She's the real deal!
I actually put Angelina at the top of my list of singers several years ago. I had no choice-her singing touches me completely differently than anyone I’ve ever heard. Her early performances just stunned me, and her voice is better and stronger now. I believe your former favorite is Adele. I love Adele, too, but Angelina can do much more with her voice, and she has amazing textures, vocal dynamics, and range that she adds so effortlessly.
And something else that gets overlooked is her span of genres. You’re right that she doesn’t miss-and that means she doesn’t miss with retro ballads like this, with jazz, with blues, with pop, with soul, with r&b, and you can throw in some gospel sounds and some country, too. No one can do that, but somehow Angelina does-and does it so easily.
And she has also sung EDM and disco at a super high level.
Not only CAN she do all those different genres, she does each of them better than anyone else.
I think the evidence is indisputable. Angelina is the MVSW (Most Versatile Singer in the World). And when you examine her body of work, she doesn't really have a peer.

Michael, great reaction and I completely agree with you. For a good while I thought of Angelina as my favorite young singer. Well, the transition to flat out favorite singer regardless of age has happened as I knew it would. This Valentine's Day gift at 16 is so damn good it should be on vinyl right now. It takes me to another place and time , maybe relaxing on one of those ornate sofas with a scotch and a pipe and a smoking jacket (even though I don't smoke...lol), just letting it wash over me...wonderful. Speaking of wonderful, check out Angelina tackling this song at 10 years old too. She gives it her all in an emotionally powerful rendition that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I recommend this because it is 25 full minutes of her singing parts of songs she loves .. she goes from one to another to another and it is nothing less than brilliance. It is either her in her room at home that she's set up as a little studio as well as her walking around Santa Monica and the beaches there .. walking alone with her cell phone extended in front of her and SINGING .. raw, pure, untouched. Never have I seen anything like this.
You probably know that when she signed with Republic two years ago, the contract she and her family signed with them is that they would wait to put her out into the music "business" until she was done with school. They agreed totally, knowing who they were getting that so many others had tried to get ..
..so part of the agreement was that she could play on tiktok and Instagram .. which is exactly what she's been doing. Many of these had already shown up on her page .. just her voice .. and just recently they added a piano background to some.

The only 2 singers that have moved me like Angelina Jordan and had voices that I just loved, were Linda Ronstadt and Eva Cassidy. But there is something so special about Angelina. She makes me feel so much when she sings. I can listen to her sing the same song 20 times and get goosebumps EVERY time. I don't understand that at all, but it is true. I hope she continues to love what she is so gifted at doing and we get decades more of this beautiful young singer.

Angelina? To me she is beyond classifying. Musically, she is in rarefied air and she stands alone. But, don't misunderstand me, she is not alone when people are concerned. She will never be alone. The love in her heart reaches out to anyone who discovers her and they, in return, transform into someone better than who they were before they were touched by her. Yes, it's extraordinary but it is reality. One needs only to speak to someone who has Angelina in their heart and they will understand what's going on.

The generational talent exhibited by Angelina is just remarkable my friend...you really get it for sure and that is much appreciated. Just think, we get to watch her grow from the 7 year old on NGT to this spectacular master vocalist before our eyes. That is something you rarely get to witness but we all do thanks to her family and her Grandma. The phrase gives the sense that the referred-to element is the most outstanding, notable, or defining of the collection. That is if you can sum up Angelina Jordan in a simple phrase, I can't, because there is nothing to compare her to on earth.
Do not exaggerate anything, dude, and forget that someone quotes you, not 5, a single singer who surpasses AJ, does not exist. The astonishment caused by this creature listening to her at 10 years old, led me to review old videos and records of young talents who reached stardom, nobody, not even the great MJ with his 'Five', whitney with her gospel, Celine with 20 years in Eurovision, nor Amy in her youthful stage can compare to her, IMHO. If someone listens to her on 'All I ask' and isn't enthralled by its enormous quality, it's because they don't understand music. Detractors? As in everything, politics or sports, everyone has their idols, not always chosen by logic or reason, and my advice is always the same, use your head to think and your ass to sit down, if you do the other way around, does not usually give good results.

I'm 67, and I had never heard "All I Ask" until I heard Angelina's version. To be honest, I had heard the name Adele and knew she was a singer, but had never heard her sing. The very first time I listened to Angelina sing "All I Ask", it brought tears to my eyes. I have absolutely no musical background, and no rhythm at all, but I know what I like, and this song touched me deeply, and I didn't really know why. After listening to it at least 50 times, and wiping tears EVERY time, I decided to look up Adele's original. I didn't make it half way through. It just seemed so 'bland' to me. This and "Easy On Me" along with several others by different artists, I consider Angelina's songs, even if she didn't sing them first, because she sings them so much better. I've also heard many versions of "My Funny Valentine" in my life, but none that come close to this. To me, it's as though she has lived and experienced every song she sings, because they are filled with so much emotion and feeling, even if my brain keeps telling me that those experiences could never have happened to someone so young. I have a wide collection of music, and many playlists of my all time favorites, yet since discovering this young lady, her voice takes up 99% of my listening music. If Angelina releases albums of nothing but her interpretations of old songs, I'll be waiting in line with my money to buy them.

Angelina now wears that crown and facts will show she holds a wide gap over her nearest competitor. Please read the biography I compiled for her before saying I am crazy and that you have facts to prove another child holds the crown.
Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and has sung a song in Japanese.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano and guitar and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
A 9 years old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon control over her career.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram.
Angelina has concerts scheduled in Norway in July 2022.
Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be.
