- Quick update to covering the videos I have planned for the rest of 2021 and a question about starting a Patreon.
Support the channel on Patreon: / neshacker
Halloween 2021 ROM Repository - github.com/Nes...
It took a while, but I am now full-time on the channel and started a Patreon to help support it! Visit my page at patreon.com/neshacker if you'd like to help support the channel.
Your videos are excellent, clear, to the point and really well crafted.
I personally will be happy to support you on Patreon, but I don't care for the perks.
The only real perk for me is to keep you motivated and creative.
Right on, I appreciate that :)
Hey all! Sorry for not getting another full video out this month, things have been crazy! Do let me know what kinds of perks you might like if I start a Patreon... I was thinking of perhaps sharing my planning materials and original scripts, or perhaps letting you all vote on the topic for upcoming videos.
Yes, more 6502 assembly stuff! Your channel is a godsend. Love your videos.
Please don't stop.
I just found you and your content is great. Looking forward to seeing all you have to bring in the future. :)
No worries, I'm gonna keep going :)
oooh, I'd really like a video about memory mapping :D good vids so far, keep it up!
You’re in luck cause I just started on a video that covers some of how it works :)
Just recently found your channel. Love the content, great explanations. Thanks for your work!
Love these videos! I'm a Linux Systems Engineer and have always wanted to master an assembly language (and I still have the dream of publishing a NES game or two!)
Heck yeah! I’m a web engineer by trade and I ended up learning most of what I know on my free time back in the early 2010s. Definitely doable with only nights and weekends :)
Thanks for the videos!
You are very welcome, Nicholas.
I really appreciate the videos, please keep them coming. Don't sell yourself short you provide value in your videos, don't feel bad about asking for value back especially when it's voluntary like it would be with Patreon.
Thanks for the kind words, Jack!
Thank you for these videos. I've just started reading about 6502 assembly as a way to decompress during my winter break. These videos have been simple enough for me to follow along with, while introducing enough complexity that I go "huh? wait...," which lets me know what I should be looking more deeply into next. If you started a Patreon, I probably wouldn't be able to give much, but I like to throw people a few bucks when I can, to help justify them in doing what they are doing. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the update!
You bet!
6502 assembly rocks.
But how about supporting the channel via the lighning network?
Your videos are really great! I've always been a bit scared to jump into assembly coding, but the fact that it's for NES and your incredibly clear and well structured videos have made this all really fun. I hope to see more content from you!
if you would do a review/commentary on the final fantasy restored patch/hack, i'm really curious how they were able to implement all the unfinished/nonworking spells and weapon capabilities that never functioned as intended, i loved your earlier FF vids and this would be the perfect spot to highlight an amazing patch
So I don’t have a sense of how “full time” you want all of this to be… but I’m sure with a $50/mo Patreon tier, there might be a few of us that would pay that for 30mins of 6502 screen-sharing pair programming with you.
Agreed.
Consider reaching to your fans, we can show some love back to support having more content.
Hmm... the paired programming thing would be kinda fun. I could work on my streamer setup I suppose xD
Take all the time you need...pushing out a video a month at the quality you do feels more than reasonable to me. I'd rather see the pace you're going rather than trying to push out more videos at a lower quality. Quality > Quantity always.
Two more videos about programming the 6502 in assembly language in 2021? That's simply great. Can't wait to watch them.
*pssst* Don't tell anyone but I've got another two planned for 2022 already ;)
@@NesHacker Yessssss!😀
Been waiting here
Soon ;)
VERY cool dude!
Thanks!
This channel is truly great! Best of luck with it and any other endeavors you might have!
Thanks for the videos and fun little demo!
Glad you liked it :)
Wow, your content is great!! Keep that way!! Thanks!!
In halloween code it has a include common. Where is that?
I love your vids man!
Thank you!
so happy to hear of the upcoming videos, i am so ready. Even your demo rom you linked will help me understand nes sourcecode which I am struggeling with atm. I wonder how to apply my assembler knowledge to make a game so these demos help alot. Lately ive been able to, using the HELLO Demo to get my own characters on the screen even tho I do not yet complete understanding of communitcation with the nes system and how to structure my code to actually make a game.
Haha, I hear you. It's all a LOT when you're first getting going. Hopefully I'll be able to get to some more of the "bigger picture" stuff once I've established the basics videos to help folks like you get to making actual games :)
Still want more assembly videos. there aren't a lot on RUclips and yours from all appearances do the best at explaining things.
You’re in luck, I just finished the script for the next video this evening :)
@@NesHacker Yay! You know i've only ever played around with Python and a bit of C but never finished a project really in either but I'm starting to realizing that i've got intrinsic reasons for wanting to learn how to do these things. Like the extrinisic rewards in the future might be nice but I like computers- they do a lot of the work so we don't have to. And I deliberately targeted the NES because learning assembly and low level coding is when you need the code on modern hardware to execute quickly but these days performance is often the last thing on developers minds
Great videos
👍
