Can you please follow up with what the MPG is after the rebuild. What was it pre rebuild? What was the cost of parts? Machine work?

Thanks for your questions. The MPGs before rebuilding weren't terrible. Around 40ish. It was consuming a good amount of oil. Parts and machining at the time of filming totaled around $1,200.

thanks men imma about to do this on my prius i bought it from auction engine wasnt running good i installed new plugs and spark plugs plus injectors enjone now fires fine but is running rich and burning oil changed pcv valve didnt fix nothing there is pil in the intake manifold meaning that the valves or piston rings are allowing oil into the combustion chamber i checkef every single thing regarding pil burning and in cominh to the point of rebuilding the engine replace valves and piston rings should i reuse the old pistons or just buy new ones by the way car has 245k new hybrid battery is it worth to do this and how much would it cost thanks

@@JonatanGuzmanE I think these cars are great! A fresh rebuild will bring it back to life and should last a long time. I have all the parts for the rebuild in the description you can add them up. It should be well under $1,000. I also have a video on replacing the whole engine if you decide to just swap the engine for a good used one.

Do we have to match two dots on cam phaser before installing timing chain. Because prius cam phaser is lock free

@@hassanmahmood703 The phaser should be counter clockwise all the way. If it's off a little that's ok as long as the colored link lines up with the mark on the cam sprocket 👍
