If they are both happy then that's all that matters. One is moving into a GOAT card and the other is moving into cash and more liquid/affordable cards.
Thanks for the insight Wolf! 100% agree with you about the amount of card shows and minimal advertising. Maybe the promoters should start reaching out to the big breakers and see if they can advertise or something!
I run a local show here in Southern Illinois. JOHN A. LOGAN SPORTS CARDS & COLLECTIBLES SHOW. (NEXT ONE DEC 7TH.) Im doing 4 shows a year, free entry, and 8ft tables are only $15! This area has tons and tons of collector's but had no avenue or venue within 2hrs so we started ahows here and the growth and support have been amazing. Ive went from 50 tables the first show to hopefully 100-120 for our Dec 7th show! I also always check other local shows(within 2 hrs) to make sure there aren't any the same day as ours. We have had tons of foot traffic and it keeps growing. I try to spread the word and get more advertising out there but word of mouth carries a ton of weight. If you do it right more and more people will come. I make $0 on the show itself. The college i host it at gets the money from the tables and I just enjoy seeing people enjoy the hobby and the show growing! IF YOUR READING THIS HOPEFULLY WE WILL SEE SOME OF YOU AT OUR DEC. 7TH SHOW!!
I was setup at the show in the Main room and the AC situation didn't help vendors and foot traffic. I was told by several vendors October show will sometimes have less foot traffic. And you're right the big shows on the same weekend doesn't help and vendors need to make $$$ or they will not setup.
I'm sure ur trying to be politically correct, but I'm sure u know they just care about the $$$... As long as they can stick a bunch of tables in a big or small space there gonna do it... They can care less about the hobby... Not everyone, but most of the hobby doesn't even care about the hobby... It's all about $$$...
Loving the hobby doesnt pay the bills. The hobby as a whole has been completely exploited and is now just a cash cow. The average joe who genuinely loves the hobby and collects to collect cant afford a 35k$ card. Wtf. All these greedy pigs runined it for everyone else. 😢
@@beachlife7301this reminds me of the junk wax era except the online breaker effect on the plethora of platforms is just making Topps and company filthy rich.
I’ve been a big ohtani buyer the past year & it’s paid off VERY WELL ! Bought his topps gallery blue ref rookie auto /50 SGC 8.5 for $3k a month ago & it’s my favorite card I’ve ever bought!!
Dallas Card Show has 4 and they are sold out every time with a waiting list. I think for locals Dallas Card Show is great to have that many, for travelers maybe not. I travel to Austin, Houston, Conroe, Katy, and Chicago Nationals as a customer so like those to continue (Trade Nights in Dallas makes the show worth going to every time)
Man enjoyed seeing you Juice at the show. Yeah the Nashville show was rough. I felt bad for a lot of the vendors there, it was near 90 degrees on Friday and maybe 89 on Saturday. Foot traffic was bad and I was in the back corner. I ask the People that came to my table were they a collector or reseller. I had 2 full blown collectors all weekend and they were together. Comps suck, they are incorrect most of time and people will not even pay that either. Comps should be like ya'll did on the big deal, comp plus tax and shipping cost of min, $3.00. These guys don't see that if they bought that card on ebay. Anyway, next time I see you, I need a sticker for my box if you have one. Good luck and glad to see you not losing on the box breaks as much, lol. I did the same thing and it is brutal. I only open Topps Baseball flagship now, because I usually can sell the cards for the box price sometimes.
I think you hit the nail on the head. These promoters dont know how to treat prospective dealers or customers. I've done the national, a show in Chattanooga, and culture collision in Atlanta this year. From my POV, the national is what it is. Def some improvements to make there, but it was fine. Chattanooga was actually pretty good. Not alot of foot traffic but the promoters were very nice and it was a good show for me. But holy hell, the culture collision show was a trainwreck. Charging dealers to park, charging kids $20 to come in, not bringing in anybody new. It was a ghost town. I approached the promoter with a concern of mine about people setting up at empty tables for free and he had the worst attitude. No aspiration to fix the problems, so i am done with that show.
Spot on! The overlapping is diluting the crowd everywhere. Especially this weekend. I couldn't make my mind up if I wanted to go to Chicago for collect a con or the dallas one there. Nasville where you all went. or any of the local shows going on that weekend.
I've been to a few shows where dealers are basing prices off of old comps and refuse to budget. Dealers need to learn yesterday's price isn't today's. if your prices aren't comparable to what's on ebay than you're not gonna sell anything.
Awesome that you’re a suns fan bro 👍 my pc too. I’m telling you now, stock up on as much Ryan Dunn as you possibly can. Suns are going to make a run and he’s going to be an integral part. Massive steal for our suns he looks like he could be as good as Mikal if not better.
@@LootboxTVreviews pistons HC said he’s the best defender on our team already. Shooting the 3 at almost 50% clip in preseason he looks like a dark horse for ROTY in a weak class.
Great video and continue to enjoy the new direction man. Agree this rendition of the show left me very disappointed - low foot traffic, and lack of AC was brutal. Found myself strongly wondering about whether to setup for next year due to the costs you outlined.
As the channel continues to evolve, we’ve strategically shifted the content focus. Previously, I invested heavily in opening products, but I recently decided to scale back and allocate resources more effectively. Gin has also adjusted his approach, opting to limit spending on sports card wax to align with his priorities. He will still be in videos and so forth. But I need to keep pumping out content. I do the editing, shorts, comments, purchasing, etc... I need to keep things moving along. It was sooooo hot in the main room! 🥵 and the huge dip in foot traffic in Nashville is really simple. Down here, football is king. And it’s prime college football season, with no college cards. Topps screwed this show by delaying Bowman Chrome. Look at last year’s show, and it was night & day, because chrome was released 2 days before. I can say this personally & for a lot of others- we get it, Stroud is all NFL has currently (and Williams redemptions that might or might not get filled)… and then Wemby in the NBA. It’s redundant, and we need something new. Big money spenders just flip their high end cards around in circles- while 12 million people watch watch Bama vs Georgia play on TV on a Saturday, with no wax to rip or new cards to buy of the sport they watch. Weird that CFB is the most watched sport in America on a per game basis and still have to rely on Topps for the only real cards (sorry OnIT)… February show will be awesome in Nashville- YOU KNOW the heat works! 🤣

How is that Ohtani worth that much? Not a first bowman. Numbered out of 150, which is fairly high numbered these days. A Luka prizm rookie auto numbered to 150 wouldn’t sell for close that 35k, and baseball is the least popular of the 3 big sports. Make it make sense…
Shohei Ohtani doesn't have a "Bowman 1st" card because he was playing professional baseball in Japan before making his MLB debut, meaning his first official baseball card was released when he joined the Angels, not in a Bowman set which typically features top prospects before they reach the major leagues; however, his first MLB card is still considered his "Rookie Card" (RC) by collectors...
