I have tinnitus and this is what I hear all day and every day for the last 5 years along with other sounds. NOTE TO ALL: Wear ear protection to NIghtclubs/Festivals. I don't wish it on my worse enemies. Living hell.
For others reading, if tinnitus wasn’t caused by night clubs, etc: (1) You might be eating foods that trigger it. Foods that are mold/fungus/yeast (ie cheese, mushrooms, breads, etc) and/or dairy. They create mucus in your head and around ears and cause it. This is why it goes away for a little while after you take antibiotics or a decongestant. But you’re not actually healing yourself - just a temp band-aid. (2) You need light gray sea salt in your life for the minerals and blood detox.
My coworker used to were EarPods cause of that managers said no even though he just cleaning dishes and made drinks all day he had no costumer interaction so after like a week of him not wearing EarPods he offed himself….. our managers let us use EarPods if we weren’t dealing with costumers after that.
i have tinnitus and im only 18! ive only been to 3 concerts, 2 of which i had ear protection. i always keep music at 1-3 clicks, and always try and avoid loud noises. all my friends have listened to their airpods at max volume for years and go to loud events with no protection with no problems, i dont get it.
Mine is lot noiser than this and I never even visited many loud places. Got mine from covid. But yes important to protect your ears.
i cant hear it, but my body clearly does, my eyes water when i turn the volume up
This is complete nonsense. There is more than one frequency playing here, and what Im hearing is not as high as 17kHz.
Possibly distortion on something else!
ALSO, RUclips does a max of 165kbps for audio right? So this is probably a 126kbps, in which case, there cant possibly be anything above 16kHz.
Seems to be a lot of artifacting on these videos.
@@saoirsemurray1310 Yeah, plenty. 17 000hz is in there, though.
You're just old thats why you can't hear it. 😂
Is there like a lower tone and a higher one? I’m way outside the supposed rage range for this, and I can easily hear like a lower pitched tone and a higher one too. It’s kind of made my ears keep ringing though.
I think I have tinnitus, and this is what I hear all day (around 16 - 18 khz)
No such thing as tinnitus by the way... Think about THAT for a minute
@@tadpole3051 chasing a phantom
@@snoopiiii tinnitus was invented the same time the telephone was... 19th century... Tinnitus was, and still is the "made up" condition needed to explain the "ringing" sound we were experiencing from time to time. Easier to make up a medical condition than to explain the harm this new technology was doing to our brains... I don't expect anyone to (automatically take my word for it)... like they did some French"man" named Jean Marie Gaspard Itard...I expect people to do their own research... 😁👍 My ears ring constantly ☹️ it's always a different frequency depending on where I am... I felt I had no choice but to research and try to find a cure... Sometimes if I can find the right frequency that matches what I'm hearing it will go away when I play them together... That's the only reason I am here now. Not here to argue, here to stop the ringing 🤗
@@tadpole3051 I am here for the same reason when it gets too bad (luckily not that often). For me it's pretty almost the same sound an old crt TV would make when it was turned on. Not here to argue either. For long I even had thoughts it came from radio frequencies but rather than blaming stuff to make it easier, I found it only made me more infuriated. Gotta deal with the ringing I guess.
@@tadpole3051 your dumb
A well-encoded video can give you the full 20-20khz spectrum. Compression, for the most part, gets rid of frequencies that are similar to the highest one because whoever designed the codec believed that the human brain couldn't tell the difference.
Your average RUclips video has a sampling rate of 48k. That's just 48,000 samples per second. Since it's a stereo audio file, you split that down to 24khz. A typical CD, or lossless WAV file has a sample rate of 41,400hz devided by 2 channels = Just under 21khz.
So understanding the way compression works, to post a video that can do 17, 18, 19 or even 20k is quite easy to do. However sound reproduction works as a chain of devices and connections. Your best sound is as good as the lowest quality point. If anything was subpar from the compressing of the original files to RUclips's system limitations to your sound system, your speakers/headphones and to your own hearing, the sound will be affected.
Here is a test you can do. Find a way to "rip" the audio from this video in an uncompressed format like .WAV. Next, use a free DJ program like Virtual DJ. Load up the file and make sure your pitch bend is set to + or - 100%. Play the file and slow it down. As it slows, you should hear the tone become more audible. Keep "Key" lock off.
I am 58 years old, and if I turn the volume all the way up, I can hear it.
ahora tienes 60 años, yo 46 y tambien puedo, por suerte
I was freaking out and though I couldnt hear it, the solution is put the volume all the way up on your speaker and video, if you are under 24 years you can hear it
Im 21 and I cant
ᴴ4sWe|I do you use headphones a lot? If you do it can effect your hearing so I don't recommend using them on a daily basis. If you do try to not higher the volume that much
Hershy Dog im 15, i cant
Hershy Dog but my neighbours children can, and its going to be fun to piss them off while they playing :) the parent wont know shit whats ging on :)
moreartmorecolours red I'm 16 and I can.. but that would be fun nice prank
Interesting. I'm 53 and I can hear this... and its a different pitch that I hear to the course on Survey of Music Technology (coursera) on the Sound Waves video that also has a sample of 17000 Hz. FYI I'm using good quality headphones.
OK it depends on a few factors if and how much you can hear.
1. Laptop Speakers/Cheap Earphones do not reply frequencies accurately and cut off others all together. Not saying you need to have headphones that cost $100+ but cheap headphones are cheap for a reason. Its like watching a 1080p movies on a old TV n saying HD doesn't look that much better.
2. RUclips Compress is dropping some of these frequencies and cutting off others and not playing them accurately even.
On my mid range headphones i can hear up to 19kHz which i usually can't do which means 19kHz are playing around the 17kHz range and for the rest of you that are having issues you could check various headphones around your house n see which ones allow you to hear the highest.
POV: ur laying in bed and you finally start to drift off and then you hear this video
I'm 31 and I can hear it, feelsgoodman.
+Herp Derp Im afraid you're mistaken by a mistake video
+Rokaia Jedir Maybe :o
Im hear this
i'm going to set this as my ringtone so only i can hear it go off
This sounds like I've heard a very loud noise and my ear is ringing.
It's so weird -- I know there's something there, I can feel it in my jaw, but I can't... hear... it.
I can hear it clear as day
RIP Lesly. Known to hear 17,000 Hz at the ripe age of 86
I’m 60% deaf in left ear and 40% deaf in right and can still hear this I shouldn’t be able to hear this lol 😂
I'm 22 and i can hear it!
Protip: Your headphones/speakers may not be able to output these frequencies. My SteelSeries gaming headphones can do up to 28KHz yet my old Creative 5.1 system can only go as high as 20KHz, but a cheap pair of headphones may have a frequency response up to 13KHz.
I'm literally wearing stolen airplane headphones right now and I can hear it...
I downloaded an app on my phone and I can hear up to 18000hz. On RUclips I cant hear it as strong, why?
Yeah, i'm 16, i listen to hard death metal everyday at full blast, i've been to multiple drag races and stood next to 500+ hp beasts and do motorsports
I can't hear this for shit
Stop like literally just stop
Come back in 5 years and reflect on the fact that you lost your hearing for amateur music.
@@dracoborne2648 and then were proud of it
I can hear it, I just have to put the phone up closer to my ear. Even low volume I can hear it. 27 years old
this hurts my ears jesus christ i jumped as the video started playin
just sounds like a high-pitched ring..
WOW 刺耳
does it count if you can here it through headphones
16,999 hz is my limit...
same
Wow i heard it
I don't think this is actually 17kHz. The 16kHz sine-wave audio sounds MUCH higher pitched to me, which I can definitely hear, but barely. This sounds significantly lower-freq. than that and its loud and clear as day. The 18kHz audio on the other hand seems correct as its much higher and I can only barely BARELY perceive it (above that; nothing). So based on all of this, I'm thinking that the above audio recording is wrong.
This hertz my ears
I can hear it
Да, это тот русский комментарий который ты искал !
I can hear this, I'm 15
God that’s... bad
23 and i can hear it, but had to put volume to 30% and above
14 and cant
I’m 17, am I supposed to hear something other than a constant buzz?
It sounds like television static to me. Lol bad cochlea.
Im 17, I cant hear anything after 16 khz
I'm 50 and I can hear it very softly. But 14- 15K I cant really hear at all.
Yes I am able to hear it
i am 27 and can hear it when in full volume but i dont freak out?
I hear, so what, saw the program with a sound of 22,000 kHz
My speaker does not reproduce frequencies this high, according to my cat.
Im 14 and i cant hear this, is this bad?
I can't hear it, either, but I have something weird with my ears where I can hear perfectly well at normal frequencies. At least, I think so. I got tested for hearing aids when I was five, and I didn't really pay any attention to what they were saying
i think it has to do with youtube compression. Try downloading wav files of the frequencies. I can hear up to 17000hz with wav files but only 15000 on youtube.
mdf1.tripod.com/test-tones.html
Im 19 and can hear anything
I'm 28 and this is one of the most terrible sounds in youube for me. I'm trying to figure out my hearing frequency spectrum and I discovered this is the highes frequency I can hear!! When I played the 18khz and 19khz sounds I heard absolutely NOTHING!
Could be your speakers being unable to create it
I'm 36 and I can hear it all too clearly. It also drains my sinuses and makes my ears bubble and pop with mucus or something. I'm also ADHD (which, because of the difference in brain shape development, makes you sensitive to supernatural occurrences/vibrations) and I both grew up by and still currently live directly beside a cell tower, which also increases sensitivity to supernatural vibrations. I constantly just "know things" and am spot on to the point where almost everyone who meets me knows what I am. I have prophet dreams sometimes, and frequently astrotravel though I've not yet figured out how to control it or lucid dream intentionally. I've physically seen both shadow people and my dead grandfather and grandmother before getting the call they were dead. Frequently men who lived with me would be attacked in the night by "sleep paralysis" or whatever you choose to believe is happening there. Sometimes objects move, but that seems to only be a cat who is playing with my other two cats as the only things that ever move are cat toys. More than two dozen people have witnessed these strange occurrences throughout my life, so I know I'm not crazy, though I tried to convince myself I was bc it was easier than accepting the truth. I'm betting there's plenty of you out there like me, so if you are, please comment below. Would love to meet others who are having similar experiences!
I'm over 30 and I can hear it and it bothers the hell out of me. It feels like acupuncture needles.
I must be getting old because I can't hear a damn thing on my laptop and it's cranked right up!
wtf I am 13 and in my old one hears up to 20,000 hz 😲😨
i can hear it a little bit but my ears been blocked for like 2 days so
who muted the voice ? i didn't hear anything.
osman karabasan how old are you I'm 11 and I herd it
Whoops, 33 and I can hear it. Painful.
I think its broken I'm 38 and heard it.
I hear clicks at the start and finish but that's it...
Let your dog sound it!!!!!!!!!!
Please stop this pain!
i cant here it
:3
I hear something like geehhhhhhhhhhhh but I'm not sure if that's what it's supposed to be heard. I'm 26 and I shouldn't be able to hear it, can someone describe the sound please?
+fenrirgg This video is wrong, its not 17kHz and its definitely not a single sine tone. Find a sine tone generator online if you want to really find out if you can hear 17k, because these ones on RUclips seem to be fairly shite
Rokaia Jedir Good, thanks.
I got the same.
This is not 17kHz. It hurts too less
this shit hurts my hears. and i can hear it
Now my ears hurt
I don't think it's 17k I have tinnitus and can hear it and I'm 32
Yep nothing in the file, Soundforge frequency analysis yields nothing which seems to corroborate the truth that RUclips compression eliminates frequencies above a certain ceiling.
It seems to me that's not correct. Even people above 40 can hear it
if someone says they hear it they are lying RUclips cuts audio above 15,000 HZ.
But i hear something..... Rlly!! Idk if it was that but 29 seconds i heard some sound
Lari-chan Yah it's your headphones trying to replicate the sound my headphones do make a noise but it's not the piercing frequency that you hear if you go to the link I sent.
+OspreyBravo18 I dont even wear headphones for this one... its my phone o,o
Lari-chan ah I thought I had put speakers/headphones either way my phone did the same thing it makes a noise but it's not the proper noise just trust me if you look through the other comments I know my link is there somewhere or you can search frequency test on google.
+OspreyBravo18 Alright thanks... im kinda worried because i listen to music everyday xD
13 and can easly
I cant hear it
Me thinks I can hear this.
Can't hear it
i cant hear it and im 16
i can't hear anymore above 17000 hz
her agayn!
If I turn it to HD and the volume up it's an eye popping deep hum.
its high pitch.. it shouldn't hum
very faint on my mac full volume
I can hear a bit and I'm 27 lol
i can hear too much im 13 and this sound is so annoying.

How about now?

Siddhant Pandey cool me too im 15 now
AnimatorMXfinity~ Awesome!
Siddhant Pandey :D
I hear it, and 17000 hz sounds closer to C# 10.
No, not at all.
28 this sound made me cringe
Ich höre nichts
I'm 16 and i hear it it's insupportable
No one should be able to hear it RUclips does not process Hz under 16,000
+Dominic perry You mean OVER
+Dominic perry But yes, good point. Hear this is using a sine tone generator :)
Dominic perry
Semeel
to mutch white noise
i can hear it
i cant hear it
i can hear it
me too, at the lowest sound setting on youtube and my computer (I use headphones) and I'm nearly 40
