not sure we should be going for B Allen anyway, is he a mid is he a defender, is he Ginbey ? I think we would only be picking him cause his local and that turns me off.
@@user-ln8we1ud9c he is very similar to Ginbey and you’re right, we shouldn’t go for him just because he’s a local. He would still be a great pick up, but I like Lindsay
Hamish Davis at 17 would be a massive overreach. I think Mids and key back should be priority. Ideally we need mids but we sold ourselves out of pick 3 which was the prime spot for pure mids into a spot which is more suited I think to maybe utility's and maybe a key back/ key forward.
Bear in mind that's 17 with 4 club tied players ranked higher and 4 key forwards eliminated. So that's really the 25th player on my ranking. I think our second selection is likely gonna fall at 30 which is probably closer to the mark
I dont mind picking Tauru if there is no clear elite mid at our first pick we need a key back and Tauru looks very good in his highlights, great mark and reading of the ball, great speed. I also like Trainor for his kicking and intercepting. I am concerned about being able to get a pure mid at our first pick, I like M Reid the most if he slides and maybe Lindsay but he did his knee, other than those 2, there is Hotton also done his knee, dont really want to pick an injury prone player after Burgiel and Hewett issues. If M Reid is off the table and there is no clear mid I would maybe go with Tauru or Trainor as our first picks.
Would not be surprised if we trade back in to 1st round or if that doesnt eventuate back into the 40s. And wouldnt be surprised if Eagles gave up their F1 ,something along the lines of F1 and 26 for Tigers 11 and 24 Have picks 11,12, 24 in draft , get Allan , Travaglia , Hynes
@@darrenscreaigh6273 Why wouldnt they? They have 8 picks in the top 24 this year, thats just too many. Theyre better off spreading them out a bit into next year. Imo they should only take 6 picks this year, move 2 into next year so they have 3 next year. Better spread of the ages of the players
I dont think eagles F1 and 26 for tigers 11 and 24 is a good deal for the eagles. IMO eagles are a chance to finish last or bottom 3 again with Barass gone especially so that F1 could be pick 1-3, and we get back pick 11 which likely slides to pick 13 and the other picks their is virtually no difference so its potentially pick 3 for pick 13, Id say no to that given the elite talent is in the top 10 of this years draft and more specifically in the top 6/7 for the elite mids which is what we really need, so dumb trade
@@user-ln8we1ud9c I wasnt meaning we should trade our f1 for 11, I was referring to more that Richmond should be trying to trade out a couple of picks.
Fantastic assessment, I feel a lot of players who underperform skills, size or speed is generally irrelevant due to the fact a lot of the deficiency can be rectified, obviously players can't grow a foot taller generally speaking. Again that is age dependent and it does also mean the club and supporters/knockers have to patient
I think a bit different, I think the club needs a few real footballers like M Reid instead of picking athletes like Ginbey who whilst reasonable but is not a natural footballer. It seems to me that Bo Allan is more athlete than footballer too whereas I would sooner a pure footballer. Sometimes you cannot make an athlete a footballer or Vise versa.
I like Tauru as well and I think there is a case for taking him first, we do need a key back and he seems like a very good player in his highlights, very impactful
I think this approach is what may cause the eagles downfall because there are not enough elite WA players to choose from. Its effectively pigeonholing oneself into a very small part of the draft. Much rather take best available and the club back itself to hold onto the young kids as it has done well throughout its history
Certainly, the strategy should be different from year to year. The U18 players are so even this year with the best WA player ranked close to our first pick and a couple ranked at our 2nd pick. It should be right to focus more on local talents.
@@Gnowop3 B Allan is very much like Ginbey and we are crying out for pure mids. Theres every chance B Allan ends up a defender. We went local with Hewett and Ginbey and it hasnt paid off so far. I say take best available pure mid, the club should back itself
Hannaford, Ough and Mraz are Vic Country Players btw, its pronounced O as in the letter O, not Off (Ough) or at least thats how the commentators pronounced it.
Travaglia way too low for me, nobody can convince me that he is not the absolute perfect fit for our list, it is not possible to be a better fit positionally. We lack outside mids, we have no wingers, we have very little rebound from d50 and we have very little young talent in the backline, thats all Travaglia, sit him on half back or a wing and rotate him around Hunt, Ginbey, Duggan, etc. Id take him at pick 4 if we had that pick. We have Hewett, Hall, Baker and Graham to add to the midfield as it is, too many young kids at once means lack of opportunity. Go back to mids next year imo. Another mid/fwd is just a poor choice imo with our first pick. Id have Tauru a little higher, an elite intercepting 3rd tall defender is a need for us still. Hotton im a little iffy on, I wouldnt have him in the top 12 where hes ever best available for us. I hope we trade in another pick around the 30 mark so we can get a KPD +1 around there
@@TrueEagleAFL Yeah realistically ill be happy with any of those 3, and I do expect us to get one of them. Allan is similar to Yeo. Travaglia brings run off halfback/wing. Lindsay is a class ball user through the middle. All are a win
@@stallon720 Id rather Travaglia, he finds more of the ball then Allan and has more damaging attributes then Lindsay, so have to agree with Jessie but I think Travaglia is gone at eagles pick. My concern with Allan is he is too much like Ginbey and may end up another half back which is less of a pressing need.
@@user-ln8we1ud9c Travaglia is 1st choice for sure, but Allan is a VERY close 2nd for me now. Hes not the most important position-wise but hes probably a slightly better player than Travaglia. Lindsay 3rd/ I think the Allan-Ginbey comparisions are valid, but aside from being great athletes and playing similar positions they really arent that similar players. I see Allan as potentially another Yeo who he is FAR more similar to. Allan like Yeo is incredibly agile, and has that aggression that Ginbey just doesnt have. Ginbey has straight line speed but doesnt have that explosiveness or ability to break out of a pack like Yeo or Allan have. Allan has a similarly penetrating kick like Yeo also. The similarities are just uncanny. Let Allan sit at half back for a couple of years like Yeo did then put him in the guts.
Let's please not pick players that wants to stay in there home states or any players that have already done an ACL or has a history of soft tissue injuries. There have been lots of current & past players that have done multiple ACL injuries which is a 12 month injury. They are risky players to draft

Would love Travaglia. We haven't had run and carry out of the defensive region since Jetta. Seems unlikely he'll make it to us though.
