For this awesome gumball machine or candy vending machine which fully functional and works only with 1 type of coins you need cardboard, one small string and big jar and 1 popsicle stick! That's all. Just follow instructions and enjoy this video!

It's been 5 yrs and im still watching this
I tried making this but I used the eraser side as the side sticking out and after a few turns the eraser part came loose.I took the eraser off but now I don’t have enough pencil to put the handle on so it’s basically useless now.Kinda depressing when one spends several hours trying to make something but it doesn’t work.

Only one goes in because the slot for it is only large enough to store one. It's not the hole that defines it, it's the slot.

The measurements are up to your speculation because of different sizes, with the coins, candy, and general scale. Just follow the steps in the video and everything will work out fine.

Nice diy but I noticed that the gumball machine would work even if you dont put a coin in it .
The trick is that the coin holder isn't symmetrical. The left side is slanted to allow the wheel to return back, while the right side is steep to prevent turning.

Couldn't you flip it upside down, unscrew the jar, and take all the gumballs without paying?
The only downside of this is that they can easily get their coin back... As long as they know where the coin bank is.

sorry for the necropost but the measurements are for you to decide. the payment, jar, candy in the jar, and general size and style of the gumball machine are for you to decide, not the creator. if the jar you have at home is too big, you might want to change the size of the machine, so that would be another size. therefore, you can't really decide if something is actually going to be one size or another.
