  • Now that we have Pretty much completed the Van we thought it would only be right to give you all a Tour of our Van. We have been Working on our van (Hamish) for nearly 2 years and it has gone through many different phases and remodels during this time. But we finaly believe we have made our Van the best most comfortable van for what we want. i am sure there are going to be many that dont like the layout or how i built it, but we love it the way it is. so please enjoy our Tour and please like and comment on what you would do different. #campervans #vanbuild #vantour #vanlife #vwlifestyle #volkswagenlife #vwlovers #vwscene

Love Hamish. He's a handsome distinguished van since his makeover. We have Fergus the t5. We may see you sometime on our travels. Subbed 🙂

@@aileenl7227 thank you so much. Appreciate the sub . I love T5,s i almost got a T5 instead of Hamish. I had a T4 before also. There is so much character in the vw Range. Hopefully our paths will cross during our travels would love to have a look at Fergus.

Nice campervan. I was looking at a similar layout but im confused around the law on the side seat and seatbelts for the kids etc.

Hi , thanks for the comment , this is something that i did a bit of research on as i wanted to make sure that it 1. Would be safe for my Kids to be in And 2. That it would pass MOT and lastly 3. I cant get a fine from police if i get pulled over. I got all my information from the Gov website www.gov.uk/government/publications/converting-a-van-to-carry-passengers-in-the-rear/converting-a-van-to-carry-passengers-in-the-rear. So there is no legal requirement to have seatbelts in tje rear of a van. But if you do fit seats then they need to be fixed correctly and safely to the van. ( mine are bolted through with spreader plates on the bottom and top of the van) . Where as it is safer for seatbelts to be on seats facing forward or back as this will ne better if you have a front or rear collision, you can still have them on side facing seats as this can still stop the people steapoed in from being thrown around. ( like on you local bus) one thing that is not allowed is if thekids traveling in the back are using car seats then these cannot be fitted to side facing chairs only front facing. My kids are older so they dont use car seats and we make sure that they are seatbelted up before we go anywhere . So the main bit is there is no law requiring seatbelts in the rearof a van or the position. But there are recomendations for safety. In the next van i build i think i will have the layout a bit different to have the seats facing forward but i am happy the my kids are secure and safe at the moment. Also it has never impacted my MOT having them situated like this also . Hope this helps and please check out the link to the gov website as this is really helpfull in keeping you right and safe. Thanks for the question.😀

Looks cool. I love the late 90s vans that are still going strong. Do you have a hole in the floor for the gas?

Thank you these 90s van and there engines are bomb proof they just wanna keep going. And yes i have a drop out vent in the floor for the gas . But even as a precaution we turn the gas off every time after use and i have gas detectors also.
