- This is a video I made of progress report number 17 of the Train Viewing Platform in Plant City Florida. Construction is a little behind and the opening day of December 6 has been pushed to December 14, 2013. But please check back because the date may not be etched in stone. Thank you

That new platform will be terrific once open. Wish I could be there opening day, but I can live vicariously through you so I can't wait to see your videos!
I just love the sound of the double diamond when amtrak crosses it! I can't wait for the train viewing platform to open!

Starting to make great progress on the platform! Can't wait till this gets done! I wish i could take a plane trip to Central Florida so that Railfanning Activity can take place in Plant city, Lakeland, Dover, or any place you'd like to see. :)

Very good Alan, I'm glad the got the idea to use the camera's to protect people and property, too many out there are up to no good. Well, I hope it stays warm where you are, I'm freezing "Go'nads" off, it's currently 10 above zero here in SW Iowa! Winter's arrived early I guess, lol Good video, Buddy!

I will be impressed if they get the elevator, staircase and all of that concrete work done by next week. I would have thought that they would be working on it around the clock to meet their original deadline!
Well I am down here to see family and going back home 12/9 but will definitely be there next year no doubt!

Nice report! It would be cool of they installed a live webcam at the platform so people online can watch trains passing there

Z Ellett whats the name of it? ive watched a few webcams like on railstream in Chesterton Indiana and cresson Pennsylvania both on Norfolk southern trackage and I even watched a railcam in folkston GA on the csx A line a photo webcam in cresson that takes photos of passing trains and a webcam at the Illinois railroad museum in union illinois
I will make a trip there hopefully next year around the late fall.
Are benches to be installed on the ground level of the platform as well? I'm sure so will be the case. Yes' its good to know it will be compleated (hopefully) in time as the kids take christmas vacation starting 12/15/13!
