but how do you prepare liver and egg? it breaks down in water rapidly than a beefheart mix...pls help
I myself sometimes prepares eggs by cooking them in boiling hot water, like preparing omellete but not in oil, and yes they could foul the water rapidly if it's uneaten or when the fishes tore them apart, even the filter will smell of sulphur but only for a while, and i only do this when i run out of commercial foods, but after seeing this, i guess i'll do it more often

Fats and proteins are source of calories too, what i get in this video is that almost all fishes are predatory in nature, just like land predators such as feline and canine, they get all they need from meat, even sugary-carbohydrate dense treats like chocolate are dangerous for them
Oil and protein based diet, like dogs. Protein and Oil can be also digested for energy, they are even better.

Tetras can live in crappy water... they have evolved to deal with petroleum in their habitat. So they are more or less like chilli fish, they live hard and die hard just like guppies.
