Really appreciate this video Neil, not really for the load out (which was great) but for the inspiration you provide. I love hearing how you make so much of your own stuff (monkey boy stove, hammock, rucksack) and modify other things like the LK35 and the poncho liner. As someone who does not have a tonne of money to go out and buy "the right" gear, your down-to-earth, practical approach makes bushcraft available for everyone. Now I just need to learn how to sew! Maybe you should write a book - How to Make Your Own Bushcraft Gear.
Les Allan thank you for the kind comment Les, it means a lot. Have a go at making some stuff, I'm not a very clever person, so anyone can do the stuff I do. We don't need all the "brands" to practice bushcraft, being skint shouldn't be a barrier. Even Mears admits starting off with a biscuit tin for a billycan.
I really like your video there very interesting and give you some good ideas on different kits and what to take and what not so easy to over load your kit with things you really don't need. Thank for another great video
Very well put together kit. And well presented/explained. A question for you: at 2:12 and 2:20 when you moved the pack, the frame seemed quite springy. I know it's made from PVC tubing. Does it flex too much? I am looking at making a frame but don't know whether to use pvc or copper tubing . . . .
Nice kit, do you have a video of how you modified the pack, adding the pockets. I've watched the one where you make the plastic frame, which is a great idea, but I am happier with metal. The idea of having a couple of extra pockets is very tempting.
Greencraft, I've never seen anyone add mesh, no idea how to do that or where to get the material from. It might be a good video, especially if you need something to do indoors in the winter.😉
Hi Neil Natty set up mate. I like the brew kit in the birch container...do you keep the sponge in a bag? Nice idea with the window shield. TBS do some great knives I do own the wolverine but I'm more partial to my nomad knife and wildlife hatchet. Thanks for sharing....👍 Des
Great videos. I used to live down Dorset way. Noticed you use the american s/s cook system rather than UK / bsb Crusader metal mug system...what's you're rationale?
I just discovered your channel and I'm enjoying all of the videos. I particularly liked seeing what you carry for a summer kit. Thanks!

Nice pack set. Well thought out. Good tips. I think teaching it half the fun of sharing or having it. Thanks
Calvin's Corner72 thanks for the kind comment Calvin.

That looks like an awesome kit forged from knowledge and experience! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful video and gear with the idea behind each piece. I use the window reflector also. You know right away if you wiggle off it on a chilly night.
Great loadout Neil.
Enjoyed the video. Always find your videos very helpful. Be blessed
Nice Loadout. I like the mini burner - How do you make one?
Green craft very well thought out kit awsome interesting video nice knife too for my spoon carving was it expensive?👌🐺🐾💪
Random Fox did you mean the one in my spoon carving video? If so it was a puukko from Simon Hardie at Ashdown Forest Crafts.
Greencraft yes you pulled it out in this video struck your fire rod with it on your kit video
Random Fox this one is the TBS Boar EDC from the Bushcraft Store. They are about £60.

Anthony Jacobs I have one that shows a little more detail, but not one that shows how I did it. Adding mesh is fairly straightforward though.

very nice ! like !
what about the food ?? what do you carry to eat ??
Look in my videos, there is a section of recipes. There is also a load of ideas in the FOOD episode of my Starting Bushcraft series. Hope that helps.

Thanks Rhodie. Have a look at my "going lighter" video. Also it's not as "hot" on the lips strangely
