  • A really good kit by Airfix, the B III was a kit that took me some time to build and even more to edit - you'll see why in the video. #Lancaster #1:72 #AirbrushPainting

    Fantastic Job !
    Was in Morcambe on our annual holiday with my parents one year ! - It had been raining nearly all week so my Dad after winning on the horses took me to a wonderful toy shop ! - the Guy had two shops in Morcambe one on the sea front and one down the side streets !
    Dad bought me the original Airfix series 3 ? - Lancaster Bomber & glue & paints - I remember the woman smilling at me while she was wrapping it up in brown paper & string !
    On the way back to our digs ! - My Dad said to me ! ...".Hey Stevie ! - When you get older lad you'll be able to tell your friends -That you bought a Lancaster Bomber from Lancasters toy shop in Lancaster " ! - So here I'm sharing my little tale a gain with my friends ? Sort of !
    Love your Kit - Thats one hell of a job ! -You really have done a great job ! - Thanks for sharing !
    As for the SD card ! - Listen It happens to the best of us ? - Great to see what have saved though !

    Really nice job, shame about the card, didn't detract too much from the content though, nice to see that they actually give you the decals for the two lancs that dropped the mines that actually breached the dams and not Gibsons AJG as they did in the Revell kit, kind of makes you realise he wasn't the only one there.

    Wow this looks great! I'm currently also doing one now. Just to let you know for the future, the real plane only has 3 smoke streaks on each wing where the engines are, since the outer vent is below the top of the wing. Otherwise, the weathering looks really good!

    Nice build, lots of kiwis in the brilliant dam busters squadron. Working on an F-35A 1:48 by Kittyhawk atm myself. Actually it’s a good quality model. But masking for the radar absorbing zigzags is a a NIGHTMARE

      @@wbpsmodels3452 You can buy pre cut masks for that. I just did an Italerie 1/32 F-35 using masks and it turned out great. I'm not a fan of modern aircraft, I'm more a 1914 - 1945 era modeler, my preferred scale is 1/32, but I will do modern aircraft on commission, like I did for the F-35.

    Well Done. I am truly interested in the holding fixture that you have. I do recognize the rotisserie from the microwave. I am building my model in honor of my dear friend who flew for 195 squadron. Sadly he passed away in August. his sister and brother-in-law were attached to 617 squadron.

    • @wbpsmodels3452
      @wbpsmodels3452  Год назад +1

      Thank you :) The holding fixture is a contraption made by a person here in Greece who has access to a laser-cutter and lots of plywood. Unfortunately he isn't interested to export his products yet, although I have asked him repeatedly, since you are not the first person asking about it. If he decides to go global, I will feature him in my channel. Greetings from Greece. :)

    Hi, love your vids, however after watching many of your builds, you always seem to give a color number, followed by the vallejo or humbral paint no, but then "custom" mix and nothing else how are people supposed to emulate you when every 'custom|" mix is a secret?

    • @wbpsmodels3452
      @wbpsmodels3452  2 года назад

      Sometimes I mix the colors to resemble reference photos and I don't keep notes on how I did it, hence I don't always have the exact "recipe" (proportions) of mixed colors. I'll try to keep notes and be more specific from now on. Thank you for commenting and watcing! :)

    Hi sir - enjoyed your video on the Lancaster - question im building it atm - did you have any fit issues putting the 2 fuselage halves together?

    • @wbpsmodels3452
      @wbpsmodels3452  Год назад +1

      I can't recall having any difficulties with the fuselage, sir. At least no more than anticipated... The Dauntless SBD gave me quite a hard time putting the halves together... But I can't recall anything specific with the Lanc. Good luck with your build! :)

    Nice build. I'm sure it's been asked before but where did you get the holder you use for drying etc. it has bubble wrap round it?

    • @wbpsmodels3452
      @wbpsmodels3452  Год назад

      The holder was made by a local (Greek) guy who has access to a laser wood cutter. Unfortunately, he isn't interested in exporting his goods for the time being... The "bubble-wrap" (actually a few layers of cling film) was added by me to avoid scratching freshly painted areas. Thanks for watching :)

    There's nothing in the instructions either. I think Airfix assume that your not going to build the kit with the mid-upper turret as they include a 'plug' to put in its place - a pity! Perhaps this turret was removed to save weight on the raids????

    • @wbpsmodels3452
      @wbpsmodels3452  3 года назад

      As I saw in a lanc history documentary, the upper turret and some other parts were indeed removed to save weight and increase range, in preparation for the missions to locate and sink the Tirpitz.

    Really enjoyed the video, and the Lanc. looks great. Sorry you had the problem with the video, nasty! I've just got the kit for Father's Day and started work on it. Painting the gun turrets, I realised that there are parts missing for the mid-upper turret. The guns are in the kit, the 2 parts of glass, and the coaming (see Wikipedia) but no mounting for the guns as with the nose turret and tail turret. Can anyone advise on this?
