The Adama family motif is probably my favorite theme from the entire series. I so greatly enjoyed the tumultuous character interactions between Lee and Bill which always came back to them reconciling and showing that they really do respect one another still and love one another. It's a beautiful theme and Wander My Friends is a beautiful way for it to manifest fully.
There's something different about a father/son dynamic that isn't portrayed very well in film and television. This show did a pretty damn good job showing the difficulty in it. We don't often get a lot of tools in our tool box to ... deal with things. Communication can be short. Responsibilities can create barriers to what we can or should say. It's just ... not always easy. This show had a good way of showing that. It's difficult dealing with pressures between a father, their shadow, what they expect from you, and what's usually more demanding is what you expect from yourself. The pull and tug of that throughout your life will vary on age and circumstances. Ultimately, if you're lucky, you come to an understanding with each other. I think that's what finally happened between them both.
This show was very much like a journey I faced in my life when things were spiralling out of control and there are no good decisions or bad decisions, just the best possible one and pray that it was the right call. I'm very thankful for it ☺️
@@zxKAOS1 Richard Hatch was one of the few of the original cast that wholeheartedly supported the reimagined BSG. The fact that, at points, he acted as a mentor to Apollo in the new series always felt like a subtle nod to his old role as Apollo.
It pulls at our souls of loved ones gone, here and yet to arrive, Our homelands, humanity past present and yet to come, our ends our beginnings. The circle of life, eternal life.
Beautiful !!! This version is very celtic inpired with what sounds like bag pipes and flute. This version is right up there among my favourites from David Arkenstone "The Dragon's Breath", Loreena McKennit "Bonny Portmore", William Coulter "Keening Of The Three Marys" and Two Steps From Hell. This version reminds me so much if another one of ny favourite composers, James Horner (who left us way too early). Like a mix between "The Ludlows" from "Legends Of The Fall" soundtrack and "Braveheart" theme. Brings tears to my eyes.

mssvattk The main Captain in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Both he and Adama understand military necessity, and both are tough as nails. They both also had a great understanding of what mankind is capable of. I definitely agree that Captain Sisko would understand and work mostly well with Adama-but there would be friction for sure. They’re both too Alpha not to bump heads.
Damn this music is depressing but so good at the same time. Honestly even though the ending left a lot of plot holes that was one of the saddest endings to anything I've ever watched before, I'd even say it tops the Lord of the Rings ending for me.
Its meant to reflect a Irish lament . Tunes to honour the dead before and after a battle . Bear Mc Creary is of Irish ancestry . I love the fact that he included the old language the Gealtach , in the tune .
I know exactly how you feel. And also the simple fact that you knew you were about to say farewell to all those characters because curtain fall was near.
I honestly hate the ending just cause its so depressing and at least to me makes no sense. It would've made more sense for them all to put together a semi-rural community. Sorta a large town if you will spread out with farming hamlets and as much advanced tech as they could muster since the cycle repeating will happen if they don't pass on the knowledge. In other words breaking the cycle would've required them to stay together and teach successive generations.
When that gentle guitar version comes in at 2:27 it gets me every time. Hands down Wander My Friends is one of the most beautiful songs ever in a television show.
Introduced my friend to BSG, he never saw it before. He doesn't like most of the characters, dislikes their actions and personalities. All except for one. "Mama Rosin may have pretty words, but she doesn't have a Battlestar. Praise be to Papa Adama. Do what Papa Adama says. Never, ever disappoint Papa Adama." --My friend, Jake
Beautiful. Does anyone know where to (legally) buy the MP3s of the BSG soundtracks? Nothing on Google or Amazon. All I can find are CDs, by now rare and expensive.
I think I bought all of them on iTunes back in the day. I'd imagine they are still available, but to me it is best to have the CDs -- always have a hard copy!
GRAVY BOAT until NBC actually works out a contract with streaming services for their IP’s soundtracks, you either have to buy it or download the RUclips videos
Is this masterpiece available for download somewhere? I have previously downloaded several of your pieces which are now blocked on RUclips, so I'm very happy to have them to listen to over and over! This one is my favorite and hope to be able to save it for posterity as well!

I'm convinced the one dislike is from Tom Zarek.
Saul gets drunk and misclicks some stuff. He typically blames it on Gaeta.
But "young Zarek" (aka classic Apollo) would approve!
