I appreciate you. 😍 starting a new hospital IPPE tomorrow. Even though I’ve been a hospital tech for years, I’ve never been a student for one! Thank you so much for the tips!
I always showed up at least 30 minutes early to start working up patients and also wake up cause I'm not a morning person; you also never know what you might fall in love with I never thought I'd like psych till I was in an inpatient unit.
I did get there earlier to work up patients during the beginning of the year. As I got more efficient that wasn't as necessary! Also, I had the same experience with inpatient psych! I was so scared of that rotation because of how difficult that block was in class but it was one of my favorite rotations!
This is great advice. Love the tips where you said to ask your preceptor what they are looking for and also to set your own goals of what you want to learn!
I really feel both of those things really helped me on my rotation. Knowing where your preceptor expected me to be at the end of a rotation helped me gauge my progression and how much I improved over time!
can you please show us how you study ? i just try to memorize school notes by repeating saying out loud without looking at my notes. i find that doing summaries take too long and are a waste of time. is it necessary to do flashcards ?
Loved this video! I’m on my second block of APPEs and these are great tips.
Glad it helped! Good luck with your APPEs!
