Went to Sligo with a friend who’s husband was from Sligo . He passed away so we took him home and scattered his ashes over the lake, his favourite place
Sir good day! I am planning to move to that county. Is there any chance that i contact you regarding the county. It would be appreciated if you can give me your fb messenger. Thanks
a few places I would like to add: -Yeats's grave at Drumcliffe churchyard -Carrowmore -Carrowkeel -Slishwood Forest -Doorly Park, Sligo town -Union Wood and Union Rock -Killaspugbrone Chruch if you're already in Strandhill
Sligo is an amazing county it has everything top class people amazing scenery stunning beaches its as near tp paradise as it gets sligo forever and ever and ever amen from an extremely proud sligo man ie up the yeats County
Music totally mismatches the feel of Sligo and although many of the Interesting places are shown I would have liked more info about them for the casual viewer instead of pics of you. Eg, Strandhill is a world renowned surf beach. Drumcliffe graveyard is where the poet Yates is buried, there are a number of old sites eg carrowmore. There is a seaweed bath at strandhill must do, mullaghmpre is where mntbatten was blown up and his old castle is a must look at. I think this is lacking any real effort to really know the local area sadly.
@@angelodlr2073 Have thought of it as I know Sligo and Leitrim well and would love to highlight so much more interesting stuff but I won’t be travelling anywhere for a while…
I have heard that there are more Neolithic Stone Monuments in County Sligo than in all the rest of the British islands put together. Yet I just watched a tourist video over SIX minutes long, and I saw at maximum TWO structures that MIGHT have been Neolithic! The rest were clearly Midevil or even Modern. If I want to see a modern castle ruin I can stay in Oklahoma!
County Sligo has 1/3 of all Megalithic sites in Ireland... so whoever said it was more than all of the British Isles put together was WAAAY overexaggerating. The problem is that most tourists don't go to the plethora of Neolithic sites to be found there.
There were no neolithic or megalithic structures here, queen maeves grave is an early celtic queen's burial site, carrowmore tombs are the best examples of ancient sites
