I'll be posting a coffee ice cream video in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned. Regarding cookie / brownie pieces, mix them in part way through freezing process ;)
@@ciji1953 He isn’t good with specifics, is he? Although he did say whipping cream in the description, he didn’t specify what type of milk (and I assume vanilla essence is the same thing as vanilla extract?). I read some disappointed outcomes in the comment section with this recipe… Anyways, I went with Bigger Bolder Baking’s recipe instead, and it came out delicious. Give that a shot. You don’t have to wait 15 minutes for the ice cream to defrost every time you want to serve some of her recipe, and it is also minimal ingredients - it only requires heavy whipping cream, condensed milk and vanilla extract. No ice cream maker required.
This looks lovely! I love ice cream. I chuckled when you said to leave it overnight. . . don't open it . . That's right, don't open it, otherwise there is a danger of you eating the lot before it's even ready. Well, that's my experience. Thanks for this video.
I have a question Is it double cream you used? And while milk? Also is the sugar granulated, as you would use in yes or coffee or caster sugar used in cooking, or fine sugar used for icing plz? I know it simply , but I bake and make desserts etc with my grandchildren. I want them to know the right way. Many thanks for all your beautiful recipes and demonstration. It is very well explained on every blog, but I am English so do have to convert some measurements, also things you call one thing we know as something else! So like to have both measurements to hand when we start. This is a fantastic channel, myself and two of my grandbabies ONLY use your recipes now, so congrats and I hope your empire enlargens very quickly, as many people are missing out on so much Have recommended you to a few people now. I know the video is a couple of years old, but thank you for posting this. My kids are a bit finicky about fruit but love ice cream... one more way to sneak healthy stuff into their diet. I did make one minor change, I added 1/4 cup brown sugar instead of 1/2 cup white sugar since none of us like really sweet stuff. It started to thicken in the blender (I froze the bananas) so it should be nice by lunch tomorrow.
I don't mean to be very critical, but KISSArmy Libby , isn't not very effective to use something as unhealthy as ice cream as a method of putting fruits in kids' diets? Unless there is some sort of substitution involved, in which case it would be great if you could elaborate, because getting kids to eat fruits without a fuss would be great. thanks
Shaan Jagani I've begun using Greek yogurt, blending that with fruits and freezing it. I also use vanilla or other extracts, and most of the time no sweetening, but if I do sweeten it, I'm putting organic maple syrup (still sugar, but at least more natural).
KISSArmy Libby try 'nana nice cream' / 'nicecream'. It is super easy to make, there are tons of videos on youtube on how to make it and it is super healthy. if you are a fan of bananas, then you will love it! if you want your kids to be healthy and eat more fruit, this will be great as it is almost like ice cream.
I like to use FROZEN chunks of banana, evaporated milk undiluted (1 cup) and 1 cup of ice cubes with the cream and then serve from the blender as a thick milk shake or freeze as popsicles. Add some chopped walnuts and you have fast banana nut ice cream.
I love you. I learned how to make peanut cookies why watching your videos, and my kids, and I been making them ever since. I love all your videos your recipe are so easy, and delicious

Make the ice cream as stated. Allow the ice cream to freeze for a little while until it becomes thick (like soft serve) then stir through the M&Ms. Return to the freezer ;)
In my family we just blend frozen super ripe bananas with a touch of almond milk, I add cocoa if we want chocolate, some coffee if we want coffee flavor. We also blend other frozen fruits, with a touch of almond milk, makes great fruit flavored ice creams, dead simple ;) !
If you use a bit of alcohol in this, it will make it so it doesn't freeze solid. It's important to only add a splash though - up to three tablespoons of liquor to one quart of ice cream base, before churning it. Add too much and the ice cream base might not freeze at all. Use either hard liquor or your favorite liqueur to give a gentle added flavour.
Adding a little Guar gum and locust bean gum will make it even smoother, softer, and easier on sensitive teeth. A very, very little of each goes a very long way.
Thank you for this awesome recipe I don't have a blender I used a mixer and substituted vanilla almond milk and only used half the sugar I did not use vanilla extract as it was already in the milk I also added chocolate chips after 2 hours in the freezer so they would not sink to the bottom and mixed it every hour to maintain consistency did not freeze as hard as I expected and is delicious, you can also use 2 bananas if you don't have 3
Your videos are absolutely delightful to watch! You have a really calming demeanor and voice, and your recipe and process ideas are awesome and so satisfying to watch how they turn out. Thanks!
This is perfect!!! I love ice-cream but hate all the chemicals and stuff in store bought ice-cream, so I don't buy it anymore (2 years now). Looks great! Another simple way to make ice cream is by using 1 can of condensed milk and thickened cream , put whatever fruit you like or chocolate or biscuits and blend or whip together then freeze. I did the banana like you but added chocolate chips to my recipe!!! It's sitting in my freezer now for the night! Can't wait to try it tomorrow Thanks!
My mother in the 1950s made something like this when I was a kid. We didn't have a freezer or even a blender so I had to mash and whip things up for her. She's pour it into ice cube trays with no dividers and make "ice cream." We loved it. I think it was really frozen custard and not even very frozen at that but it was sweet and we didn't know any different. It was great.

this comes out best with Bananas only as it helps to thicken the Mix , so if you want a Chocolate / strawberry or any other I still suggest - put half the amount of Banana in them as well

It's the apprehension of waiting overnight that's what I don't think I could do. Lawd this looks absolutely heavenly. You have got to be one hell of a chef
Since no one has answered your question in 5 years, I will answer it. Yes, I have made it with condensed milk. The main ingredients are: -- 4 cups half-and-half or light cream -- (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk -- 2 teaspoons Vanilla (Of course, if you want to add fruit, or your own additions, you may)
make ice cream with instant pudding mix then pour it in ice tray then freeze next day put in blender and blend and makes a soft serve ice cream so infomercial for ninja blender and it works on a regular high end blender. pudding is not hard yet frozen
I do something similar. It isn't a true ice cream, but it has very little dairy. Freeze the bananas after you've cut them up. This activates the thickening agent in the bananas. Put them in the blender with just a few tablespoons of milk. The milk isn't really required, but I find it helps. blend until very smooth and enjoy! You can do this with so many fruits. The trick is to freeze the fruit first.
I wanna try this! I have an ice cream maker, which works great, but it's such a hassle to lug it out, then freeze the tub over night, etc :( I use my blender every day, so this would be a great substitute - it seems quicker, too!

Greetings from Mexico. Earlier this year I saw an even easier recipe which I'd like to share. Freeze ripe bananas whole, The Riper the Better. For each banana blend with :1 teaspoon of sweetener (sugar splenda honey maple treacle, anything you like) a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of Dairy (cream, milk, condensed milk). Blend and enjoy. Freeze harder if you like. All the best from way over here. Jim
This is absolute GENIUS....so simple but it works. My only issue was after taking the ice cream out of the freezer (kept it in overnight). It tasted...well, "Icy" like a bit too frozen, and when it melts it tastes a bit better, but more like "Soft Serve" ice cream than hard ice cream. I'd prefer the ice cream to be firm, but how to get it that way without the ice/frosty consistency in the ice cream? Or should I just be blaming my freeezer? Was just wondering if anyone else came across this issue. * I simply mixed Heavy Whipping Cream & Half n Half with vanilla extract
+Amy Ballad There's nothing wrong with your freezer, the problem is with the way the ice cream in this recipe is frozen. The reason it tastes icy, is because it's been left untouched overnight, which causes larger ice crystals to form. The only way to get soother ice cream involves a bit more work, but not much. Just follow the recipe given, up to the point where you pop it into the freezer. Instead of leaving it untouched, let it freeze for an hour or so, take it out, whisk it, and then pop it back into the freezer, and then repeat that step every hour or two, until the ice cream is smooth and set. What happening is that you are breaking up the large ice crystals into smaller pieces, and redistributing them through the ice cream, the more you whisk it, the smoother it gets
Looks wonderfully simple-but I have to ask, without churning as it freezes, do ice crystals form and make it crunchy? I bring this up because many years ago I tried a similar recipe, I don't remember the particulars, and it came out more like _ice_ than ice cream. I'd love to try again if this recipe works better. It looks great. ☺️
St Preux, put it back in the cuisinart in chunks for a brief spin to get it creamy again, a splash of cream will help. Or start with frozen fruit and sugar choices in cuisinart, add liquid choices once fruit is powder or chunky. Do use vanilla in it. Favorites at my house: strawberries, cherries, mango, fresh ginger root ground adding ice cubes.
Do you know anywhere where you can get vanilla essence? I looked on the internet and searched how to make it but what came up was mostly just vanilla extract. Do I have to use the vanilla essence if I'm making non-vanilla ice cream?
Firouzeh Forouzfar Vanilla Extract is made with real vanilla (costs more, but tastes amazing). Vanilla Essence is artificially flavoured (cheaper but fine to use). That's the difference between the two. You don't have to use vanilla if making a non-vanilla ice cream, but it adds a nice background flavour ;)
@@katparks4631 No, vanilla extract is definitely not the same as vanilla essence....in any part of the world, including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland! Sure, you can use both but one is far superior than the other. The cost is evidence of that. The extract is a natural product. The essence is synthetic with all manner of crap in it. 😊 It seems your family in England are just using the cheap stuff.
So simple and perfect. Quite a bit cheaper actually than the stuff you buy in the store with all of the preservatives. I live in Phoenix where it sometimes gets to be over 110 degrees outdoors, so a nice cool treat is always nicely enjoyed. Thank you.
I'll be posting a coffee ice cream video in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned. Regarding cookie / brownie pieces, mix them in part way through freezing process ;)

The milk is fresh milk direct from dairy or boiled and cooled one...
Thank you.
@@jahdestamuzik9145 Do let us know how it turned out!
Omg! that look so good......
I love your voice !
it is easy and simple i like it
Do you know anywhere where you can get vanilla essence? I looked on the internet and searched how to make it but what came up was mostly just vanilla extract. Do I have to use the vanilla essence if I'm making non-vanilla ice cream?
Firouzeh Forouzfar Vanilla Extract is made with real vanilla (costs more, but tastes amazing). Vanilla Essence is artificially flavoured (cheaper but fine to use). That's the difference between the two. You don't have to use vanilla if making a non-vanilla ice cream, but it adds a nice background flavour ;)

Thank you, Firouzeh, good to know!
My family is from England and they call vanilla extract ,vanilla essence!
Thank you.
That blender! We had that blender lol
Yup its a prop from that 70s show
how do you beat d urge to scrape d leftover ice cream in d blender....:/
Meditation.
Ever so grateful! Need some for Thanksgiving for Mister and me. Will have a go at it. Greetings from Pennsylvania. Stay well, dear teacher!
