Thank you for all your videos Nico. One thing I have learned in life is you will never make everyone happy no matter what you do. I myself and I know most of your views really appreciate what you do so don’t let the noisy minority get to you. There is a simple solution for those, they don’t need to tune in. Keep doing what you do, 99.9% of us love it! 🤙

I would just not feel sorry about having to be transparent, but be confident and transparent rather!

Thanks Nico for all the things you do. I don't understand how is possibile that in 2023 you need to explain WHY you are doing such videos, how hard is to make these videos and all the background. We all should just say THANKS for all the contents that we have thanks to guys like you. Few years ago nothing of this even exist (windsurf channel, youtube...) and we had to spend money to try new materials without any professional experience as background. Today we have pro riders that explain all the reason behind a board, a sail, a mast etc and we still complain. Thanks

Just watched your video, and I know that I'm probably going to repeat what other people have previously said, but I really enjoyed the comparison between the three types of boards. I thought that it was pretty clear what your objective was, and it offered me great insight into the types of boards that most companies build, much as this video explained. Prior to watching the original video, I pretty much knew that I'm more of a freerace guy than a slalom board guy, but your test demonstrated that the minor high end speed difference isn't worth it in the end, especially considering the fact that I like to go out and sail for multiple hours and, no, I don't race.
It was also interesting seeing how much more efficient a high end fin is than the stock fin, but having said that, the stock fin is probably enough for me.
That original video did not seem like an ad for Starboard, so don't be put off by the negative comments you received. I'm stoked that there are guys like you putting out content, as doing so helps keep the sport of windsurfing alive. I am pretty sure that content creators such as yourself are not given enough credit by board/sails manufacturers in terms of actually selling product, but seeing guys like you having fun on the gear has more impact on the equipment I'll purchase in the future than race results or even team video shoots.
Keep it up, Nico. I always look forward to watching your videos.

Nice one Nico. Its pretty unbelievable that some commenters complain about brand placement. Maybe they expect you to be a charity? 45k subscribers proves you're doing most things right, and to be fair, your channel has come a long way in terms of production quality of the years. Not too bad for a couple of people putting out content for us to enjoy. Let's face it, there really isn't enough quality windsurf content, without you and a small handful of others taking the time to do it, we would all be pretty starved of modern windsurf content. Keep it up, change nothing, just maybe more of it eh? 👍

Hi Nico, sorry if my post on your previous video was annoying. I do understand where you're coming from. It's just that a long time ago I did amateur slalom, but the only board I have now is a freeride and yet I'm still a speed freak! I'd already looked at alternative slalom fins and perhaps a secondhand freerace board, so I was super interested in the test you were doing and the difference a fin makes - it's exactly my situation. Thanks for the great content, I really appreciate what you do! Have a great winter of training!

Nico, I really like these comparison videos. I realize they are not necessarily always a direct comparison, but it is still fun and entertaining to watch. Next time you should really throw your audience and compare a slalom board to a free ride board to a skateboard. Lol. Maybe throw a JetSki in there too.

On that spot in Arinaga you have sometimes the windmills, in sight a bit south, turned some 180° with respect to the wind you feel in the bay - the wind goes both ways around the island. Maybe the clashing point of the two directions moved up to the bay in the end 🙂

Started "talking" with the pile of poo via Telegram while waiting for an email reply from Surf-Center regarding the "you are a winner email". Regarding fins. Have never ridden a pure cf fin. Wave fin cf, plastic composite. Fastest fin used is a made in Australia, vintage FinWorks FSPro. Most days it on a freeride board is overall faster than couple friends who ride on race hardware. Biggest variable. The ridder. Even if I'm on the iSonic, chopper, race sail kit I'm sure you would lap me on the Carve with the stock fin and freerace sail.

Cooles Video.
Have fun, stay fresh und mach so weiter. Bist mega korrekt.

Ignore the negativity and keep giving us exciting and informative videos, Nico. Perhaps we should all take a breath and think before complaining about something we are getting for free! I don't understand how anyone who watches videos about something as exciting and technically interesting as windsurfing could be such a whinger. If we could take the useful facts out of the information presented and keep the negative feelings to ourselves, the world would be a better place. Lastly, to the scammer who faked the "Congrats, you've won" replies, well I think we're all hoping they get what is coming to them, and that right soon. Keep up the good work, and all the best with your training and the coming season and let's hope we have a half decent race calendar this year for you pros to have your fun and we amateurs to get stoked watching it all.

I hear that the comments got really deep with you. Man - no worries, don't bother with those. You don't need to explain how you perform the tests and your videos. You are great as you are and doing excellent quality content. Just continue. I appreciate that you are trying to excel in both content creation, and windsurfing investing time and effort in positive reviews. There is just no ideal situation. If you match perfectly all the factors there will always be a matter of a sudden gust, a different wave... if you race together with someone else at the very same time it's gonna be a skillset difference... Just don't go too much into details (however I love those details to be frank, and I would love to see the differences in straps/mast foot position at your level). Just haters gonna hate anyway.

Some people will never be satisfied and will do their best just to find something/anything to complain about. Seems a growing problem in society where there is no realisation that they/we get all the content for free, while producing the content takes considerable effort and time. You make excellent content which is enjoyed by more than 45K(!) people, so as you mention, just ignore the negativity. Some of the comments/questions are however not complaints, but can be valuable feedback and/or ideas as you mention that the community gives back. Hope we all can keep the £*$%£*$ (not suitable for younger audience 😊) out and make this an enjoyable place on the internet for all the enthusiastic friends of the best sport in the world!

Hi Nico, maybe on your next give away, you should adres that you will always announce the winner of the giveaway in one of your video’s in the first place. Takes out lots of misunderstanding for people who are contacted by a scammer. Great video as always!

I think most of the comments mentioned were constructive feedback as well, not necessarily critic. If it makes you think, that's only good I guess.

My suggestion: Do giveaways retroactively. That way, you also reward those commenting anyway. Less of a trigger to start scamming.

Ow and just a genersl remark, back in the days you had tri concave boards with square box rails. Only a pro could control it and the potential out. For otto normalsurfer the boards were to extreme, so work to hard , no fun, and your friends overtake you, despite your gear.
So my 2 cents, go to surfcenter or other location and try a board. Fun is everything, and performance follows
Even me on a starboard kode singlefin and atlas can kick some ass despite having the apparent disadvantage on gear compared to others with different boards, just sheet in, ride on your fin and hold on
    Cant wait for next episodes

There will be always hatters. I appreciate the time, energy and money you all put to all the videos out there that keep us entertained and informed of what's going on with the brands and gear.
    Cheers

Also warum die Zehen anziehen?
    Vielen Dank

That is a lot of gear. I've been trying to downsize so I don't have to pack so much gear for road trips. I don't know if it is just my bad luck but I always end up using just one or two sails on my trips wondering why I brought so much. 🤔

Wow, I haven't spent any time really wading through your comments, but I do find it a little surprising that you got so much negativity for the review comparison of the different boards. Its pretty obvious to me at least that as you're sponsored and were on a photoshoot location with the kit, it made perfect sense to use it. And its also pretty obvious that no matter what manufacturer you will find similarity between them on the type of board, be it slalom free race or free ride. Also sorry for you getting the scammers.... Keep up the good info for everyone, it's really useful.

Pfff, they didn't even try to scam me. I feel left out. Anyways, putting a good carbon fin under my freeride board, transformed the feel and my sailing some years ago. Admittedly, I went to slalom gear to early, seeking for speed. But I'm learning.
