Nico, this is my first year windsurfing and I'm about to wrap it up with a trip to Bonaire to reward myself for sticking with the sport for these last ten months. It's been super challenging but definitely rewarding! I just wanted to say thank you for all of the content you've posted, from the well-structured tutorials to the awe-inspiring vlogs. You have been a tremendous help and I really cannot thank you enough!

Bonaire is a great spot, I went last year for the first time (Jibe City). Heading there again in 2 weeks myself to hopefully finally master the carve gybe! Nico's videos certainly help.

Haven't had the opportunity to travel ever since covid hit, and the local conditions aren't what they once were, and access is difficult now also.

I'd love to see a video/tutorial on dealing with messy water when gybing. Cranking into a gybe and running over the back of chop, board bouncing and slowing down etc not a lot of true flat water where we sail
I wish I could find such a wonderful flat water beach where I live. You are lucky to be able to enjoy such a place. Looking forward to the Gybing tutorial :-)

Cool vid but missing the all important 'pick your line' try and look a long way forward, bare away or head up to avoid white water, breaking lips, or other sailors.
You recently spoke about your best ever gybe on a video - that lay-down duck-gybe at 7:00 was THE best gybe I recall watching on video - and being a long-term gybe improver I've seen so many!

I used to windsurf there almost 20 years ago when I lived there. Medano and Cabezo where the wave spots, but never heard of this flat water spot. Where is it?

Hi Nico, I really like the Jibes. They are allways awesome and with a low center of gravity in the turn. But you know that. The Laydown Duckjibes are allmost strap to strap like on the Foil. Should it be possible To do that? 😇

Great jibes. For some strange reasons (not really, I'm just bad), the lay jibe is the only one I can do succesfully. I copied it from carving with skies and somehow it works.
I always thought a duck jib is the fastest way around. Pulling it off it a race would really be crazy.

Yeah but only if there’s a forecast within the next two days. Always better to de-rig.
Re cut feet : I have a small anchor (smooth and safe to step on if by accident) tied to a floating 4 L water jug. I set that in somewhat shallow water and clip my sandals to the jug going out and coming in so I don't cut my feet on rocky beaches. Chef's Kiss imho. 🙂
