Dafür dass Johannes zu Beginn erst 2021 angefangen hat zu surfen, macht er das super gut finde ich bei diesen Bedingungen. Da hab ich Jahre länger gebraucht um solche Bedingungen zu fahren
For me two things made the difference on getting planing jibes down (on waveboard). 1. Leave the Front foot in the strap through the whole jibe 2. Have a real visible jibing Mark in the water like a buoy. This visual sign really helped me turn the head and lean into the jibe. It is quite more difficult to imagine the curve of the jibe with no turning marks (for me). So now I can make jibes almost effortlessly on (little) waves cause that's also a kind of "mark" I can lock my sight on..
Can be Mark or any other fella who fell into the water trying to jibe. 😁 You're making good points here, the little bit of flat water between the waves can do wonders. It's actually a little hack at the same time - makes you watch the sea and not your hands or feet and therefore the overall posture is better. 🤙
Great videos and comments on what to do and what not to do. I personally always struggle with the moment I shift my feet; sometimes even when I am completely at the end of the carve - too many things to think of 😊
Nice, thanks for your review! I normally use slalom gear but didnt take it to fuerte for holiday, neither to cyprus for working at the station. Your tipps definitely help a lot! I will make sure to keep practicing and hitting that rail :D
Thanks for choosing my jibe as well. I'll definitely try to apply your suggestions to the next Jibes. Great Video as always👍 all the best for the upcoming season 🤙
Great job Nico. Do you think same video for analyze jibe on windfoil? Will be interesting your vision for improve on "fly-jibe" on windfoil. Could you send video for improve foil fly-jibe ?
I heard it, "Is break down the jibe into many small parts at least into three parts. 1. entry 2. middle part 3. exit of the jibe" Is it necessary? I can not heard it from you? What is your opinion about it? I Love your videos. Regards from Hungary.
Great tutorial, thank you, Nico! What would be your tip for jibing at very high speed on freerace board that on entering jibe is starting to rise the nose and sort of dancing in the air on fin. What could be a cause for it?
Thanks Nico. I'm finding my sail is always fairly upright through the gybe and I'd like to lay the sail down more. Do you think I just need to commit more to leaning my body into the turn or should I be thinking about leaning the sail more to the back of the board?
It is very important to lift your heel on the windward rail and enter the jibe fully powered up, on flat water you can go as fast as you like but on choppy water its better to ease off the power a little on the approach put then power up fully as you start the carve. Move your back hand down the boom towards the clew helps.too..
Hi Nico, great video and tips! When I try to carve hard, it happens a lot that my front foot stays stuck in the strap, messing up the quick rotation. Are you familiar with this problem?
Nice video. 7:32 - I have a JP Super Light Wind too. It's a really nice board for the lighter stuff with a very comfortably rider position and good speed, but it's definitely not an easy jibing board to my opinion. The width gives you a very wide stance across the board and it takes a lot of pressure to carve it. A board around 80 cm wide with a rounded tail seems much easier to me (the SLW is 92 cm wide) :-)
Hello Nico, not sure that you will see this comment but I am very into windsurfing and I´m thinking of buying myself my very first windsurf equipment. I have had a few experiences in the past of windsurfing and I was just wondering if you could tell me what you would recommend to buy? I weigh around 65 kilos. Thanks :)
Hello Nico, wached with joy! Wo uld you kindly let us know more of freeride content? For example a short allaround foil gear selection guide and getting ready for the season and fitness tips would be great!

Thanks Nico! epic review, especially when you get on slalom kit, advice seems to get a bit sparse, super nice to get some tips!
Great tutorial thanks Nico
very nice format even for novice as me. A lot of tips to understand mechanics.
Thank you for advice and making us dreaming about race sailing

Kann ich verstehen, manchmal würde ich auch gern auf Deutsch reden. Frage mich nur, was die 85% der nicht deutschen Zuschauer dazu sagen würden 😄
Thanks you Nico

Can we maybe get some tips for jibes on wave gear. I can do ok jibes on freeride gear but i have problems on my waveboard
here is a comment to win the board😁
Wow 😮
I got my first ever carve jibe yesterday in 20knots with a 6m sail and a 120l jp x cite ride
For the Defi I need to gain some weight and to practice a lot more. I'm not confident yet
Johann is quite good for his time since he entered windsurfing. The choppy conditions are not helpful to do good progress in jibing
Pretty sweet! ❤
Nice video. Do you have a video with jibe in light wind. I would like to see, how do you make jibe in light wind ;o)
Moin Nico
Moin!
