"What if we took the 58 year old living GOAT of boxing that learned to fight to deal with his bullies to keep his pet pigeons alive and safe and put him up against a 27 year old bully?" - Netflix
11:42 in a post fight interview, Mike said the only reason he fought was for the money because he has bills to pay and wants to leave money to his family when he’s gone. That paired with the child interview where he says he doesn’t care about his legacy because it doesn’t matter to him when he’s dead makes me think he 10,000% threw the fight for the money.
he's a real hustler. he has nothing more to prove. noones gonna care about him loosing to a nobody youtube personality in 5 years, but the money in his bank account? this going to stay there
@1lukarioz Paul clinched after Tyson started out on the offense, after that Tyson lost his aggression. If you think Tyson wouldn't win this if he wanted too then the sports betting websites that just paid his medical bills are going to use your opinions to buy third houses and second yachts
You'd have to be dense to think this was a real fight to begin with, it was obviously scripted from inception like WWE it's not a real sporting event. They paid Mike millions to get back in shape with steroids and training to have a fake fight so they could cash in on his name and make even more money.
I care zero about this and have only seen what you just showed, but I like the theory that it WAS arranged for Tyson to ultimately lose but for it to be a bit more sporting/entertaining and then Tyson threw that first punch and realized muscle memory might kick in and there was a chance he'd actually kill/KO Jake and Jake saw his life flash before his eyes so they both just kinda danced around for 8 rounds instead Edit: Had the wrong Paul
Yeah, the 60 y/o had to pull punches against someone half his age and in his prime. What is this cope? Just accept that he lost and blame his age instead of pretending he was gonna kill him lmao, Tyson peaked 30 years ago. There's a reason people retire in their late 20s/early 30s.
I only ever watched boxing one time and I had to get one of those old school descrambling cable boxes to watch it. It was a Mike Tyson fight in which he tried to bite someone's ear off, not once, but twice. Glad if I ever saw any boxing in real time, it was that fight, lol.
I just don't buy it that Ty had only enough fuel in the tank to actually throw a punch in round 1, even at almost 60. This whole shambles just makes a mockery of the sport.
mike was supposed to fight jake back in june, but needed 8 blood transfusions. this fight wasnt staged, but it was a last nod to a guy who is struggling with medical debt
I feel like this was all a hoax and a gimmick to showcase Netflix streaming and essentially dupe the entire audience. Tyson was probably paid to lose, and both fighters no doubt walked away with a fat wad of cash. That punch he threw was probably 'unscripted' as far as boxing matches go, just to show Jake Paul that he could, and who that idiot really stepped into the ring with. Then again, maybe I'm coping. Regardless, Jake Paul continues to be a fighter of has-beens
footnotes: 1- They were gonna fight like 4 months ago but Tyson had a heart issue while flying and they had to delay the fight. How it ever got sanctioned, I don't know. (I do know, people got paid) 2- Actress Rosie Perez was on the announce team which was an interesting/terrible decision on Netflix's part.
Saw the title and was like “I’m glad we are talking about the cheeks” because I saw this live and they showed it twice. Also that fight was boring af compared to the others. They didn’t do anything but walk away with checks.
Dude's knees were wobbly the whole match, there was a difference from the training videos. I don't think it would have made a difference, but he had clearly hurt himself in training.
In a video about boxing.. There was a single mention of a single punch thrown by Tyson. That's how nothing burger this match was, can we all just collectively forget it ever even happened please?
the most hilarious part was how that punch was enough to almost drop jake paul. dude went flying to the other side of the ring in less than a second. a little slower, and he would achieve escape velocity...
I don't think it's unreasonable to be surprised or suspicious Tyson lost just because of age. With good luck & health, 58 really isn't that old. I know plenty of 50+ even 60+ men with physical jobs who are miles ahead of 20-something coworkers just because they have so many years of training behind them. idk I think it's more helpful to focus on how out-of-practice Tyson is rather than playing into the assumption some people have that you're basically a decaying corpse after 55.
I think everyone is really not framing this properly. Mike isn’t a healthy 58 year old.. he is someone that almost died in the summer.. apparently he was hospitalized the day before the fight too.. etc.. he has many injuries.. thast not a healthy 58 year old.. so we’re goin gin with a 58 year old who almost died and has injuries.. thats not because of age.. its because of his career as a heavy weight champion. So I think it’s really disingenuous to frame old age.. nah.. it’s cause he almost died in the summer and he has injuries.. if it wasn’t rigged. That played a huge factor
@@npcimknot958 i dont disagree... but then we see him throw a single punch, get jake paul to basically run a marathon in a second, and then he doesnt throw any more punches? yeah, i think it was pretty obvious that, even this old, even with all the health issues, and almost dying. if this was a real fight, it wouldnt be getting beyond round 2.
“This is how he has been since he retired he’s just a little bit really fucking aggressive” Tyson- Repeatedly try’s to get Norm Macdonald to say the N word while they have a tickle fight Dude Tyson has been wholesome as fuck for at least the last 15 years. Don’t get me wrong he can still turn it on but compared to biting a dudes ear off, come on.
I would easily compare this fight with the first act of cars 3. Where McQueen blows a gasket in an attempt to hit his top speed but couldn't, therefore losing to a high tech car 20 years younger than him, that can go past 200 without even trying.
I can’t believe more people aren’t clowning on Tyson’s walk out. Dude walked out alone in a T-shirt that said “let’s fkin go” and proceeded to trip and stumble twice as he walked from the locker room to the ring.
George Forman was 45 when he won the heavyweight weight title, Mike Tyson is nearly 60 and I was hoping he could have won but I guess he threw that fight
11:41 Maybe, cause that interview with the little girl was pretty bleak. As if you were contemplating that you're old and being bought to more or less lose.
I wanted Mike to win as much as the next guy but I don't know how much I buy into the scripted or bought fight stuff. In my opinion, Mike got hit and thrown off balance and realized he couldn't take hits like he used to while Jake realized Mike still had insane power which made them both apprehensive about engaging each other (i.e. why they were dancing around each other after like the first 3 rounds).
I knew I should have put money down, I knew Mike would win 1 round and Jake would "win" the rest 🙄 To bad I don't gamble, also I refused to watch it. Your thumbnail was the best;bit of this circus for me 😂
Tyson had been getting around with the aid of a wheelchair and walking sticks for the past year. I think his training videos are actually from quite a while ago
Man my dad is 58, can't imagine him taking a punch from someone my age and still walk afterwards. Kinda feels like the dude fought the equivslent of a wobby, moldy breadslice. Not even a fair match lol
Mike Tyson is a bad man but he's just too old to beat Jake Paul. Father time comes for us all. I thought it was nice to see a little bit of the old Mike in a few of his Punches, there was almost no chance of Tyson winning, still fun to watch though and at least Jake didn't beat him up too bad in the last couple rounds when Tyson was gassed
one one hand, sure, he is really old, with a ton of health issues. on the other hand, he threw a single punch, and made jake paul almost achieve escape velocity with how fast dude went to the ropes. so at this point, it doesnt really matter what's the truth, since we all knew it was going to be a staged fight from the start. and that punch looked like it was mike doing a light punch and almost messing everything up, which is why he stopped punching afterwards.

The real winners were the people who didn't watch the fight.
nah mate. We still have to hear about the stupid and obviously staged bs. No body will stfu about the fake shit.

No dude he lost because hes very old and sad and wasnt looking great even in his later career
The wording should be "knew he's going to lose" so people stops being so dense about semantics
@1lukarioz Paul clinched after Tyson started out on the offense, after that Tyson lost his aggression. If you think Tyson wouldn't win this if he wanted too then the sports betting websites that just paid his medical bills are going to use your opinions to buy third houses and second yachts

I'm in my early 50's and I injure myself when I get up too fast. Can't imagine taking punches to the face and trying to go on with the night.
🦑
woah
I'm in my 70s and recently I took up boxing - it's gets easier to fight when the opponent has to consider manslaughter charges
Hell, I'm only 37 and my back, shoulders and knees do feel like I'm in my 80s already
@NoLiveking87 i feel you there. I have scoliosis and that shit sucks.
Mike was true to his word, he traded his legacy for a little bit of promotion for his weed brand from a human vape.
Mike Tyson was in a mystery squad that solved mysteries with a cartoon pigeon, Jake Paul sold mystery lute boxes to kids on crypto gambling websites.

Mike was definitely on mushrooms during that kids interview
The women’s fight before the main event was epic, and a testament to what a real boxing match looks like.

Remind me in 612 years to challenge Magnus Carlson's AI in a game of checkers. If I start training now, I'll probably still lose.
Magnus Carlsen cleans everybody in checkers easily even at 60
Even though Jake won the flight, he came out as a loser
Netflix signed with WWE to stream RAW and SmackDown live Worldwide starting january 6th, i hope that they improve their live streaming until then.
