17 or 18 pound a month no contract unlimited 4 g/ 5g sim that's fast with unlimited calls and texts , order the SIM from smarty, use a 5g router or 5g cheap phone if you want it dedicated or just use your phone.
If you want it dedicated you can extend the 4/5g antenna for a better signal in remote areas

great video as always, although I believe you could buy the huawei wifi dongle buy it’s self for about £40 max and buy a rolling contract from three, unlimited data for £18 a month. Which saves you £9 a month!

    Liam,
Phoned three on another matter yesterday.
I'm sim only, off contract with them.
Just got a customer only deal !
All you can eat data, phone and text.
No limit hotspot/ tethering through the phone.
12 month contract (normally only 24)
    £18 per month!
Plus if you tell them you have a bad signal, you *might* get a signal booster (worth a go!)
    Beat that!!

To improve connection over a congested limited 4gg dongle, try sending the data to a relay instead because its better designed to handle high transmit rates and don't rely on batteries.
That being said, for better signal try more height, maybe some kind of antenna mod?

Three has a 1TB data cap on their unlimited data sim, Vodafone scrapped their cap in 2022 its fully unlimited. I go over 1TB every once and a while if I binge a new show in 4K or download several games that month.

I got one of them liam but when It got delivered realised that you couldn't attach a external antenna so sent it back, I ended up getting a home WiFi modem ( unlimited ) from them instead but the thing with them is you can take it from your home and proving you can get 12 v to it you can put it in the van WITH a external arial, I am with "3" also and pay 21 a month unlimited, we was in the lakes somewhere ( cant remember where ) very remote and couldn't believe I had a good signal.

Very interesting video and I just got the vodafone WiFi hotspot when I go camping etc so I'll test it out in places like skye Aviemore and Glencoe to see how good it is.
Vodafone say 32 devices can be connected and 4G with 300mbps speeds so hopefully it delivers the goods. Ultimate WiFi will be so good for watching youtube and Google tv. Does this mean unlimited downloads on playstation 5 and on laptop? This little device should last years and OK it's contract but you don't need to worry how much you use it to watch youtube on laptop.
    Clever device!

Depending how much data you use,
I was on virgin media, £80ish for the TV internet.
Dropped the internet, went down 1 TV grade, (mostly just a few HD channels) now £40.
I'm on Three, SIM only £21 unlimited data plus plenty of phone.
Mainly use my phone for intetnet but there's a 30GB Hotspot allowance.
So you can either transfer work onto the phone via a micro SD card, unlimited, or use the phone as a hotspot.
4 g is fast enough and 5g available (not sure how much) but you need a 5g phone for that.
There's also roaming in Europe, but you're limited to 18(?) GB and only 2 months each year.

you might kill the battery by overcharging if it is plugged in all the time, but if you aren't taking it out of the van, then that's not an issue.
Does it still work if you take the battery out, & then plug it in?

    • @LiamTheTerrible
      @LiamTheTerrible  5 лет назад

Yeah I keep it in the van all the time, the battery still lasts a few hours

Thanks for the video - we've been looking at this, it's great for the UK but when you go abroad it limits you to 19GB/month in the rest of the EU :( - which its a bummer... but you could get unlimited data in Poland, Croatia and such for about £2 (only unlimited within said country still) ;D
