I think you've struck a happy balance, and so there's no need for a "boss" to assert itself.

Time will tell. It never fails that there is a personality that conflicts with another, but maybe only small skirmishes. That would be nice. I had a Tropheus that is now in a larger tank. My tank is also going through a peaceful stage. However, they are still growing, so who knows when all hell will brake out.

My 90 is probably the most community type tank I have. I have 10 to 12 EBA in with 3 angels, a rainbow shark, a Siamese Algae-Eater, various cories, plecos, and tetras. There's also a 10" black ghost knife and a fire eel similar in size. The only aggression Ive had is a Bumblebee Catfish eat a pygmy cory that killed them both.

I have a 150 peacock tank. 🐟. Ive had bad luck. The fish. Aggression has caused loss. Especially at night when the light is off. Wake up to find a fish at the bottom 👋

    Ben,
I really think it depends on the tank and the fish in it. I notice that the Congos and Buenos Aires tetras have like a Boss between them. At least in my tanks i have seen it. I am surprised the Green terror isn't more Bossy. the firemouth looks to have some sort of PEcking order. My green terror is always trying to assert dominance to my Jack Dempsey Female and she is like nope go away lol. Otherwise between the Two green terror and JAck dempsey no real aggression issues that i have seen. They rarely last just the forward motion and flexing the gills lol. Kind of like your firemouth does to some of the tank mates. I am interested to see if when my Salvini puts on some size if he or she will challenge for the Pecking order and Tank boss. In my 100 gal CA/SA tank i had a Red devil and she was the tank boss and a crazy one that I had to get rid of her. She definitely lived up to her name. Kind of crazy what some fish attitudes are like. Appreciate the Video as always.

Most my Cichlid tanks always had that one fish that couldn't help but be a jerk, I would just leave it and it never really improved. Over time though I've learned better techniques and now I have more peaceful tanks without tank bosses. So imo if you do things right with a little luck I think it can be avoided.

My tank boss is a Borlyi but hes not bossy as such, if any other mates play up he stops it but hes not aggressive. My Livingstoni is not a boss but no one dare mess with him, not even the Borlyi, maybe hes the real boss, i dont know. I have a chilled tank. I have trout, venustus, Buccochromis, eye biter , rostratus and a few other peacocks too.

I've always heard having a female present will make the males go crazy and try to kill each other. But, you have one that might a be boss!? Have I heard fake news? My tank is fairly new with African cichlid juveniles, and there's presently no boss. THere was a boss - Malawi Eyebiter - but he murdered too many fish and is in an isolation tank right now. Since then, nothing but peace.
