Decided to try it before I sold it and loved it. I never would have given it a shot otherwise (gave up on the main British line at the Orion) but I'm so glad they prompted me to try it.
Battleships peak at tier 8. Once you hit 9 and 10 theres so many auto loading smoke and hill hiders that your just an xp and damage pinata feeding everyone else. Hence why theres such a passive long range meta, approaching anywhere near the halfway line at top tier just gets you perma spotted and burned/torped down and you cant do anything about it.
i have NO idea where you get the idea that the italian BB line is a terrible line to grind, i LOVED every single one of them and enjoyed every second of going up that line, and no im not being a troll or anything when saying this, i actually love that line.
Great overall Battleship review! My personal favorites: USN Primary BB line (typical armored, decent speed, good guns), IJN Primary BB line (Solid speed, ok armor, longer range play style, kiting ships), RN Secondary Line (torps and guns, weaker armor, fast, medium range), German Secondary Line (brawl, fast ships, weaker armor, and torps)
I finished grinding the British lines a little while ago, and the one thing that I kept thinking was that the secondary line was actually better overall than the main line. Regarding the torps, once in a while you get something with them, but since you have to be pretty much broadside in some tiers or only have one in the upper, I often felt like it fell into the "why did you bother?" category. I don't know about the upper tiers of IJN ships (I haven't ground that far up), but at least through tier 7, they're my least favorite line.
@@Norbrookc With IJN main line, until tier 9-10, you want to always be moving, so you may miss more shots. @Zaron_Gaming I am in a similar position with my low to mid-tier ships. However the problem arises that while all of these experienced players have an incredible amount of extremely useful knowledge to impart, they passed through our tier levels long ago. I firmly believe that a coordinated effort by several players who are currently passing through mid to upper levels know firsthand what difficulties and mindsets we currently face down here rather than recalling memories from years ago. Training of new members is not well supported in WOWS but relies on keen 'older' players telling us what to expect when we finally break through the often lonely low to mid tier learning barriers. Some YT contributors will relate how they "ground through a line to tier 8" in one day - yeah right - show us how the hell you did that from scratch !!
First thing you have to learn as a new player playing BB's is that your armour and angle means squat in this game. Everyone just fires and spams HE in this game and HE completely bypasses any armour regardless of thickness or angle. Everyone just spams it for 20 minutes straight, even bb's, usually from inside smoke or behind an island and starts endless fires. He spam, torp spam, homing torp spam or shotgun torp spam from invisible subs and of cause the unending waves of planes from cv's that pump them out like factories which you can do absolutely nothing against. Good luck new players.
Maybe try moving instead of sitting at the end of the map and doing nothing?? It would be way easier to dodge planes and torps this way. And if you support your cruisers, they could actually do their job and kill enemy DDs and light cruisers. Oh and if you actually stay near your cruisers, their AA could protect you as well :)

I'm a bit confused. After not playing for many years, i went down the russian bb line. I'm up to the vladivostok and I kinda agree with survivability- however dispersion has been horrendous right down the entire line for me. Its supposed to be better at short range, but even at 8-10 km at slow or stationary targets most shells miss. Ive tried a main battery build and a secondary build but the dispersion is so bad to begin with the small gains arent worth it. Were you just referencing the Kremlin? because i'm not seeing it.
I perfer the German Battlecruisers rather than the German Battleship main line. Even though Preussen has bigger guns and a bigger HP pool, Schlieffen has crazy secondaries and easier to manouver, and Schlieffen can be an absolute monster if you have Lutjens.
The Vermont is not as forgiving as a GK. Many times been hit for 50k on my slow ass Vermont never in my life has Gk been hit that hard and it much harder to play. You can’t just in in secondary range and do good damage. You need to be aware of the map and just like the GK soon as you fire you are the target. Unlike the GK though the Vermont can’t fight back as fast and discourage the advance. Also for some reason the Vermont shells love to shatter in places where my GK can pen.
Yes they r pretty tanky to the point that they can take some pretty heavy hits but u have ti play them at mid to short ranges because of their main guns formula cause it gets better as the range decreases and gets worse as it increases and past 14-15 km they have German BB dispersion which means all shells land at the four corners of the map...so basically Soviet ones r tailor made for mid to short range fights so if u like that gameplay then they r pretty nice to play...in ranked and now mode shuffle of course but in randoms they r well ok
1:12 There is a red DD last spotted at G1 so I don't know why you have not turned back before you eat two torps. Doesn't matter what BB you are in if you don't have better situational awareness.
So Brawling is really easy. If a match takes around 30mins than you go brawling around 10min mark. Snipe away and cry about it. Sniping ships i would use. Is Yamato and Montana. They are exellent for that. Yamato is a bit meh in that regard... Yamato does best being in middle and making things go away. However that does mean you die very very quickly and things usially stays alive. So she is best used with a few brawlers for supporting fire when those brawlings ships are charging! Montana yeah that is a nasty ship however the kaliber of its guns does mean you have to be very good at shooting at stuff. Especially at loong ranges! Now a middle battle ship like Mid range... those are just being killed really quickly i am very sorry. But you do not whant a kremlin these days. TO BIG CAN BEE SEEN FROM ORBIT will die horribly. Unless ofc you can use it... Wich means you are a farming target prio nr1 for the enemy cause of the health pool... Brawling ships are nasty in cloose range.. ofc look at the map when playing. To know when to go in is to basickly win the game. Problem is you are going to be alone alot! So best thing you can do is actually support your people with loong range and than mid range and than TOTALLY GO IN AND SCREAM BANZAAAI! or whatever. So this is order. Hang back-go middle-go into their face and make them regret their life and question their life choises. ohh with brawlers use HE at loong range and at mid range shift to ap. At brawling range USE AP!!!
Every time I play my Alsace I'm surprised just how much damage these 15 inch guns do over the course of a match. This boat slaps. At first I thought: "looks like an Iowa with worse guns" but it feels completely different. Its big downside is the pathetic French armor scheme. This boat takes so much damage from HE spam and also from normal AP penetrations. Can't really do any tanking.
Do a video on the tiny quirks of each line and one on each map and the best way to play them. The constant review rehashes are getting old (been with you since
On console my favorite three cruisers are Exeter, Belfast, and Plymouth. Use like battleships but I find my self enjoying cruisers more. If I was pick three battleships it would be Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
Hate battleships and game "random" and rigging for AI controlled ships. Played several Operations in Bismarck / Scharnhorst constantly wiped out by cruisers and DDs that were laughing in the middle of my splashes while constantly eating my HPs. Made hit for 2000 (and constant miss, overpenetration, ricochet) and played by 3000+. Any DD can charge you, run to 3000m from you and shotgun you with torps while you cannot hit him as every f*** shot just hits water. Turrets turn forever. When shooting even at Tier4 BBs (form Tier7/8 !!!) - ricochet, overpenetration, few HP down. Return salvo regardless the angle ate thousands of my HPs. Again, again and again. Any stupid cruiser can run circles around you and keep spamming you with HEs. Did it so many times. Took Tier6 Dorsetshire to same matchmaking and effortlessly made more damage, just spamming HEs
How about you simply shouldnt be playing Battleships in 2024? HE spamming is the only one of the 3 metas BBs can do and their either bad at it, or a cancer to the game and shouldnt be advised at all, so you might as well play a Cruiser
I hate battleships, they are big, slow, hard to turn and not really usefull in naval combat. Plus you are asking for a like and subscribe without showing any content, the ultimate sin of any youtuber!
5:11 why does the preussen here get the proper paint job when the Bismarck doesn't have his accurate paint job (the paint was also on the superstructure not only the hull)

How does the Iowa rank?
Every time I play my Alsace I'm surprised just how much damage these 15 inch guns do over the course of a match. This boat slaps. At first I thought: "looks like an Iowa with worse guns" but it feels completely different. Its big downside is the pathetic French armor scheme. This boat takes so much damage from HE spam and also from normal AP penetrations. Can't really do any tanking.
French BB techline is totally out of date, and it's now no worth to grind it except if you've already up all the other BB tech line
@@hadriench3402 Arguably old, original Japanese and US BB lines are even more out of date. Doesn't mean they are unplayable.
I grinded Yamato and Bungo, never again. Crusiers are badass
Just call the 2nd us BB line the tilman line, its in that vein
The mighty Brick line😂🎉
This is an awesome video and very helpful!
It would be great if you could make a similar video for other ship types, destroyers and cruisers at least.
Love these videos
Lion wasn't too bad monarch is the painful one
BB Stalingrad is not included?😢
He is talking about the free ships
@@paulrasmussen8953 oh i see.
republique or yamato for beginner?
Well it depends on the role u want to play the Montana line and to some extent the Kremlin line are ideal for beginners
When you talk about the American "super heavy AP" are you using the heavy AP commander skill?
No, the shell itself is a special shell known as Mk8 SHAP
It is a type of gimmick for the USN BBs and heavy cruiser line
i want the Arizona
So in summary, BB aren’t good, ok
Do a video on the tiny quirks of each line and one on each map and the best way to play them. The constant review rehashes are getting old (been with you since
lets play battleshits! harold and kumar lol!
Hang on, I thought GK was your highest played ship?
how to get the full of WOWS tree tech for 2024
0:00 "Who doesn't like battleships?" This goes to show just how biased the community is in favor of this class.
On console my favorite three cruisers are Exeter, Belfast, and Plymouth. Use like battleships but I find my self enjoying cruisers more. If I was pick three battleships it would be Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
i binge watch all your videos super drunk my main BB is the florida can you give a review in 2024??
that moment went you thought you sent the "gud" vermont replay, and you didnt....*not like this* 🙃
Best tier 10 German bb is still the GK
teir 4 through tier 8
Drinking game : every time SLM says "Battleship" drink a shot. Good luck! lol
Day 1 of watching
@Angeltrust76 asking sealord Mountbatten to make a WoWs replay playlist
You like battleships?? Who would have seen that coming 😉
hello
Says British battle cruiser line is good. The st. Vincent is the best bb/bc in the game.
Italians BBs on top...Thats the only correct answer
i have teir 4 american german british and france i got the south american battle ship
I can't bring myself to play Japanese ships.
How about you simply shouldnt be playing Battleships in 2024? HE spamming is the only one of the 3 metas BBs can do and their either bad at it, or a cancer to the game and shouldnt be advised at all, so you might as well play a Cruiser
I love to torp BB's! lol
North carolina is bad ship.
lol. You just don’t know how to play it
@@chiracultrainstinct3d629 , it is not universal, if you have bad match, you gona do nothing
@@dominikdolejsi1088like in any ship in random.
@@chiracultrainstinct3d629 yes, but North carolina have everything worse
I'm not a wows player and never will be one
I hate battleships, they are big, slow, hard to turn and not really usefull in naval combat. Plus you are asking for a like and subscribe without showing any content, the ultimate sin of any youtuber!
What's best in 2024 is the uninstallation of the game and find something else.
5:11 why does the preussen here get the proper paint job when the Bismarck doesn't have his accurate paint job (the paint was also on the superstructure not only the hull)
