Thanks everyone for being here! Since I already have some Patreon money saved up I'll be trying to host my first $1000 2v2 tournament in January/February and go from there :) Please feel free to drop any suggestions about formats, rule ideas and stuff because I'm definitely down to shake things up a bit with rules on resource sharing, races, maybe even certain mods etc. Thanks so much for watching everyone and have a great day
I think adding mods would be interesting but that should be later when you feel the games get a bit "stale". Starting simple would be good cause 2v2 tournaments is something i've never watched with pro players. Love the video (and you ofc
It certainly won't revive sc2, it would give it a temporary boost in life but. The fate of this game is in the balance counsels hands and its.... looking grim
All race mod or require everyone to play random. I would love to see some crazy scenario where teammates are giving control of units to teammates due to have better control in this or that
I'm old and lame. And I know playing a video game for a living can get very stale, but the amount of enjoyment you give us with these videos with your positive attitude, creativity, etc is just so awesome. It's also absolutely insane how talented you are. If I have a 5 second conversation with my 5 year old midgame, my D3 ass somehow starts floating a zillion minerals. Yet you are able to play at the very top levels while commentating your own play, it's just so nuts.
I know there are great personalities and talent around Starcraft but Marc has always been a personal favorite since watching him when he was pro. Cheers Thermy Happy Holidays Merry Christmas
Old school SC/Diablo 2 gamer that still fires up my 10 year old gaming rig from time to time just to get some reps in, here. Love your content, always so impressive to see such a high level of play, paired with your entertaining commentary. This 2v2 content has been super fun to watch. You're completely right, the 2v2 adds a whole new aspect to the game. I would enjoy seeing more of it! Keep up the good work!
Sc2 really dropped the ball on not investing more into 2v2 and 3v3. This was the bread and butter with my friends after college and you could see the giant shift into team games such as league. Very few gamers enjoy playing solo. They would rather play with other people and or friends. Hope the 2v2 scene in sc2 keeps growing.
They didn’t drop the ball. There was no reason to ever give SC2 a ball. One artist in an afternoon let Activision made more money off crap in WoW than the hundreds of people and YEARS it took to make Starcraft ever made so there was no reason to bother trying to work hard to make Starcraft profitable or further its playtime.
@@Very0dd I kind of feel like that's just because there isn't a pro scene in 2v2 to be honest - I think that if people took 2v2 as seriously as they do in 1v1, that it would also eventually become about as "solved" as 1v1 is and it would also become pretty stale - the reason there are so many different strategies is mostly that people just don't really know what they're doing, but if that stopped being the case I think most of those strategies would vanish because they're just not good enough.
These 2v2 games are absolutely epic! Looked like you guys were completely cooked and managed to steal victory from the jaws of defeat! Would love to see some of your other recorded 2v2 matches and really hope that 2v2 competitions become a thing in the future.
I don't know what caused it but RUclips suggested me some of your videos on my home page not long ago and I watched one out of curiousity. Now I'm basically tuning in every day to see what kind of shenanigans you manage to get into with your cheese and team games. Loving your enthusiasm for SC2.
I honestly don't care what content you make. StarCraft or other RTS, doesn't matter, I genuinely enjoy this channel. Your commentary is perfect, I can watch or just listen; is exactly what I need to get through the day.
Love the 2v2s, absolutely my favorite SC2 content right now. Hopefully more and more players will join you, it is much more interesting and unpredictable.
my two biggest wonders about startcraft has been for the last few years: 1. Why not 2v2 is more common (it's awesome to watch) 2. Why not random vs random tournaments are a thing. I love seeing pro's playing off races, and it shows more general starcraft skills than the stuff we've seen 100 times before. Thoughts on this marc?
I'm so glad people are getting more into 2v2 and the other team modes. It is genuinely the most fun to me and always has been. I'm so glad you are making people aware of how fun it is!
It would be cool to see pro 1v1 tournaments but with some of the crazy challenges you do. Like some chosen modifiers, that randomize throughout the tournament for each map. I don't know if the pros would be interested but I would 100% watch. Imagine two pros have a map chosen for them, and each has the same three random modifiers to choose one from. Or a mod that gives small stat boosts and nerfs, or alternate unit options. They each choose a buff and nerfs and see what choices their opponent has to choose from
2v2 is my favorite type of games. I only play 2v2 by now. I had an epic game where me and my teammate had 85 supply combined and they had 185. Somehow, I manage to defend for 5 minutes straight with my orbital, and a 4-5 cyclone against 2 army attacking from 2 different angle, while my teammate built back an army of marines and went to destroy their main base. That game was Epic. I thought it was one of the biggest comeback I seen in my life. Crazy feeling when they fiiiiinaly GG at the last second like how the f*** we won this game
I absolutely love the 2v2 in-depth analysis, especially when you describe unit comps and timings. It is especially helpful when you explain why the positions are what they are and where the avenues of victory are for both teams.
ive never played a solo game besides sc2. everything else has been team games and watching you and goblin inspired me to get some consistent 2v2 partners. Would 100% love more casts and big tournaments!!! You're shaping the 2v2 scene right now (at least at my league). Theres very little content out there on 2v2 and you have the big seat my friend. keep it up thermy
What an amazing game! I love team matches and I 100% agree it definitely adds more dynamic to army composition and completely new scenarios that you never see. I love how you are able to talk so fast too, I feel like most encounters here were covered and I really understood what was going on for sure. If you post more videos like this then I will watch them! Thank you for always trying to spice things up and find a new way to play!
As someone who used to play 2v2 at very high level and not 1v1 (because it was boring) I 100% agree with your opinion about it. For regular player Its painfull process to get out of mid level "randomness", but once u get above it, its super fun and stuff like "changing wall" matters and its really fun to do. In 2v2 you simply cant play same builds over and over, because when ur opponents decide to do something else, even when your build is good in 1v1 in 2v2 it would lose. People always say 2v2 is worse compare to 1v1, but in reality all the difference is different build, but you really have to get above that midlevel "randomness". And the name Infinity really rings a bell here :)
I remember a great game I played- My teammate was killed out- he left me with four probes... I moved to take all three bases on the right side of the map- terran, I made about forty Vikings, full upgrades, I had 8 Starports with reactors. The opponents were busy taking out my main, so I sent all forty to take out theirs. They F2'd to kill them off, not knowing I had other bases, and more importantly, more production. I totally took out their production, but they had a huge Carrier fleet, they went looking for my production, but it was too late, my bank was so big could re-max to about 40 Vikings, and I could take out their heavily damaged Carriers. The game seemed lost- but I took out both opponents in the end mainly due to their overconfidence.
I didn't think I would enjoy the 2v2's as much as the 1v1's but tbh they have been amazingly fun to watch even this video of a recap. Thanks for the entertainment : )
This makes me Realy miss my sc1 lan parties back in the late 90s early 2000s. My dad, uncle and grandpa had 12 computers all networked together at my grandpas house. me, my older brother and all my cousins playing 5v5 , 6v6 and tournaments for prizes on crazy custom maps for a whole weekend is still my fondest memory.
Very true what you said there at the beginning. I always thought that a fourth race would have had to be introduced at some point. Or sub-factions like in Kane's Wrath perhaps. I also have grown tired of competitive SC2 and while I occasionally return to it, it's usually impossible to know which games are actually worth watching.

2v2 allows for such a flexible playstyle that makes doing anything you want somewhat viable instead of the usual pro strats everyone and their mothers uses for 1v1, it really feels like a breath of fresh air
Simple rule for protoss: every time you press f2, you have to build a cannon (and for the drinking game version take a shot) If they'd done that, they'd probably not have had so much trouble. (well, unless they were playing the drinking game version)
Love your videos. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed this video but I think I prefer when you live cast because of the reactionary nature. As a stressed StarCraft player it’s cool to hear someone come up with sick builds live
Back in the very late 90's I used to be solid in Starcraft. I agree that on 2v2's... 2 perfeclty synched players can destroy. I used to play with a buddy of mine who was far better then me and together, we would always try to get games where we can do us 2 vs 4 people. After winning the game, my buddy would quit so his stats were like 100w 1570 losses... he would leave and I would ally victory with one of our enemies when they had a good attitude. I miss old Battlenet. Funny how well optimized that original starcraft game was... ran on a Pentium120 with 16mb of ram and windows 95. I started it with a K6-233, 32mb ram, windows98 and 56k modem internet. Classic Blizzard was legendary.
Sounds like a great vision for the sc2 to revive it by hosting 2v2 games. I hope you succeed with that, sounds really great. There might be shear endless combinations to be explored
I actually play the exact same way as both of you in team games. 3 nix, across the map first thing, to pick up Protoss gas probes. 3 stargate too. :) Also when playing tvp, sending my first 2-4-6 hells across the map to literally just snipe probes. Completely ignoring stalkers.
1:10 Sadly the game really needs the invention of deck build for matches like Company of Heroes 2 had with it's small 1-3% increases to specific stats of a unit.

Yes! We need more of these! A lot more!
Loved watching this!! More 2v2 🎉
GOBLIN IS A BEAST!!! Holy shit that man knows how to manage his eco!!
I'd love to see more 2V2, 3V3, etc. tourneys.
Saw a bumbersticker that said "I'm a silly goose" and thought of you
Came for Marc, stayed for Goblin
As long as it’s your gameplay being commentated, I find casting for other players/ tournaments you’re not a part of to be boring
Yeah, 2v2 is simply much more entertaining and fun!
the mothership is the only crazy change the balance counsel has made and it is nice to have for sure.
I'm already convinced, 2v2 is my favourite game format. I play it with my son, and it is epic!
@14:58 12 gateways absolutely insane screen.
Be so cool to see Serral and UThermal in a 2v2 tournament
excited for whatever you're cooking man!
Yes please cast more of your games! ❤
Broken Arrow has been learning me a lot about multi versus and how fun and dynamic they get. Im down for adding colors to the rubric cube
I actually play the exact same way as both of you in team games. 3 nix, across the map first thing, to pick up Protoss gas probes. 3 stargate too. :)
Also when playing tvp, sending my first 2-4-6 hells across the map to literally just snipe probes. Completely ignoring stalkers.
1:10 Sadly the game really needs the invention of deck build for matches like Company of Heroes 2 had with it's small 1-3% increases to specific stats of a unit.
My god man, more of this plz
Thirty minute 2v2?! HECK YEAH
A humble offering for the almighty algorithm.
