    With sides and back loose the cables up front were no issue.
    Hardest was to pull from the metal pins up front, no idea how to dismantle without breaking the plastic there.

      Clearly the people responding haven’t tried it. Lol The little metal clips that stay in the roof at the front are giving me a bit of pause right now. Going to try to just screws I’m in and hope the metal tabs seat properly in the plastic channels. I’ll comment again once I’m done.

      @@samprowell8946 I did... It seems like I was overthinking the clips. I just ended up screwing into them and the headliner appears to be sitting properly now. Time will tell, but overall I'm quite happy with it.

    Great video and well explained, but what a job! I have exactly this issue with my Golf that has developed with the hot summer weather. As a possible workaround, as I need my car for work and think this would take me a long time to do myself, could you not just spray adhesive up where the liner hangs down so can get some access, or syringe some around and stick it that way (probably dreaming, but thought I'd ask). I know it wouldn't be a total fix by any means, but could that save the whole liner from coming down before it all falls? Failing that, how much would this cost for a professional like you to do the job out of interest?

      It’s the foam which has gone not the glue so more adhesive won’t fix it and will make it harder to properly repair. Use pins as a temporary repair.

    How do you get the plastic off the metal clip at 7:18?

    • @coastalcushionco8227
      @coastalcushionco8227  Год назад

      u sued a small metal pick, they are very fragile and may brake but that will not affect the refitting of the headliner

      I've got a rattle and traced it here to the plastic bit connecting to the metal clip. If I push up on it, it will click and create a secure connection only to disconnect and begin rattling again after a few bumps. If you have any suggestions, I'd be forever grateful. Cheers.

      No seriously this project made me want to kick my car. First thing that pissed me off was the shit job I did on the front by my mirror.. (first time trying to reupholster headliner) dad gave me 1 advice "START ON THE FRONT" Well dad I operate differently. By the time I got to the back I figured it out and the front looks fucked up.
      Car is in the side yard half installed .. will not have functional vanity lights after the install. Loose edges... etc Fuck this job. Pay a pro.
